Rain DLC Dated for July 19th in new Gameplay Trailer

Oh great. Another teleport heavy character, who happens to be a ninja. That's a new one!

I never cared for Rain before this game, and this game isn't going to make me care about Rain. To me, Rain is the free DLC character in my season pass. I'm looking forward to the 4th DLC character.

That said, Rain's fatalities look sweet.

Other reasons I can think of for not downloading them? People are either too lazy to, or they don't have enough room on their harddrive and don't want to delete something.

Really, though, any of those excuses is weak... The "not having a harddrive" excuse doesn't apply to PS3, so I don't see why PS# couldn't be a mandatory update. As for not having enough space on your drive, if MK isn't important enough to free up the space somehow, maybe you shouldn't be playing online to begin with.

MK is the only game I know of that you can buy something, but not be able to use it online, because the person you are playing with/against doesn't have it. it's pretty much BS, IMO.

Very much agree with all of that. Hopefully NRS will listen to the fans the true Hardcore MK fans and make these packs mandatory. Theyre pretty good about listening and trying to fix things to keep us happy. I mean we got Rain after everyone *****ed about him not being in. Maybe when this 4th DLC drops they'll make one big compatibility patch that you have to download to play online. So then itll fix this problem with one fell swoop. And these packs barely take up any space so it just doesnt make sense why you wouldnt download them.
 
Lol Rain Was Super Killa. Man I always loved his character and gameplay. Idc to play with him online, because i didnt buy this game for the online mode, that would be stupid lol. Anyways imma murk me some spammers A$$ wit him hahaha.

Now all we can ask for is they start to give these DLC characters alternate costumes as well with Rain needs his Klassic costume for sure!

Looks pretty cool but I'm not sure about that fatality where he makes the opponent swell up. It just doesn't look very serious enough. I hope Kitana's Kiss of Doom won't do that. But maybe I might get him, especially if Sonya's alternate outfit comes with him.
 
Rain's gameplay looks awesome. I wonder if he is going to be the son of Argus or not? His story trailer should be out soon I hope.
 
YES! That was fantastic! Rain looks beast. The water effects look great. ROUNDHOUSE KICK! And I'm glad to see they kept his lightning special.

Only thing I was iffy on was his first fatality. The idea of it is great, but it looks a little cheesy.

Agreed RM but as cheesy as it is it gives me that nostalgic feeling. Like the first time I saw Kitanas Kiss of death fatality. And Ermacs pest control fatality is ridiculous as well and I hated it at first but really its classic MK. MK has always been over the top and in this game the brutality is really turned up to 11 so IMO it could use a few fatalities that are a little ridiculous.
 
At around 0:37 when he's fighting Mileena, is this an Alt costume that I have not noticed yet or an easter egg for upcoming DLC costumes?

Not bad, and about damn time I see a X-Ray that goes for the arms. I seen too much leg, skull and rib breaking, but never seen anyone goes for the arms until now. His first fatality looks awfully funny.
 
I'm not vibing with Rain at all. He looks kind of dumb to be honest, like he's the first character whose a bit too cartoony for this MK and doesn't fit :| Though I wasn't a fan of Rain at all in past MKs so it's just my opinion. I found the part in the trailer funny when he's squirting Ermac in the face with water and Ermac's getting hurt. Reminded me of the Naked Gun movie when a guy throws a towel at Drebin's face and he starts screaming. Dude it's just water :)
 
His kombo's are kind of a mix of Noob & Reptile copies, I don't feel like buying him, but, I'll just play against him online before I buy him to get a sample.
Fatalities are awesoem though, lol.
