Before Sub-Zero and Scorpion fight Scorpion says "you are not Sub-Zero" to which he replies he is there to avenge Sub- Zero's Killer. Which would make him the younger brother, that has been out forever. I'm sure both will be in the game. Probly with the same look no mask with a scar on his face. Maybe you can unlock him after you beat the game with the younger bro. Either way I'm sure they are taking it seriously . If they changed it I'm sure it's for good reason.

Maybe they were just not sure about it at that time and they where still working on it and Hector wasn't suppose to say that. Who knows but I was a little did disappointed by the fact that it is the younger brother. Also here is the original bio from the website before they changed it. It sound like the elder would be Sub-Zero as well.

Or maybe it was changed because it gave away the fact that the "revived Sub-Zero" wasn't actually Bi-Han and that Noob Saibot is Bi-Han like how they changed Raiden's bio to remove the mention of Liu Kang (instead they wrote it so that it would say he was still "looking for a champion"). They're just trying to surprise us with old facts.

Oh right - the thread subject. Ummm... Sub-Zeros, two of them, brothers. Once you go Noob, you never go back. Count it!
 
Honestly, I think it is clear that they started with the concept of bringing Bi Han back, but they realized that the story would be too complex, realized what would happen with Noob, realized that they would ruin a character theyve been developing for the majority of the games (Kuai Liang) if they left him out. That is why they changed his character history from what it was before to what it is now to avoid mass confusion. Again, this is just a huge hunch, that makes total sense, not something set in stone. Can we please stop talking about this now, its really getting annoying having to clarify this over and over again after much debate since this game was announced.

How do you know that for sure though, im basing my thoughts on what ive seen from the initial character history we saw on the MK site. If they had no intent on bringing him back, then why would they go through the mentioning that he became Noob Saibot and NOW he knows the untold secrets of the afterlife.

It was a poor attempt to trick us into being as clueless as other new comers to the story. It was always Kuai Liang that was actually the resurrected Sub-Zero.

It revealed too much information about Noob Saibot and the brothers plot. They changed it for the same reason Raiden's bio was changed when they mentioned Liu Kang and now it doesn't.

They probably realized that their poorly written bio for Sub-Zero was drawing up too much hype for the wrong idea and for a plot that was never going to happen, so they changed it to circumvent speculation about Bi-Han's fate changing and to prevent massive disappointment when they market the game and it's just the same brother-swap story.

Changing their mind about it is easy. They literally just say "It's his brother now" and then they're done with it.

I'm cool with it. If it was the elder Sub, we'd get no Noob without a heavier retcon.

Of course, if they wanted to, they could just say "Okay, younger Sub-Zer is Noob now" and it would be just as easy.

There's not a huge difference between the two. I'd argue there's no difference at all, especially without the scar.
 
Both brothers are virtually the same person, so I agree. Although I think it's more dramatic if Elder S.Z. is the one who would die and become Noob S. because he was the one who confronted Shinnok and was proposed with the choice to change his ways, but is killed right after that anyway and leaves Kuai with purpose to enter MKII.

It was their intention since the beginning to keep the Sub-Zero plot the same.
 
There was a considerable difference between the brothers in the original canon, Kuai Liang never wanted revenge on his brother in the original timeline and he was more of a calm individual not agreeing with the brutal ways of the lin kuei and such. Now they made him into a brutal warrior wanting to avenge his brother. They did this so that fans of both older and younger sub zero would be happy, and yet staying true to the original story as much as possible.
