I got that impression ever since E3, with D'Vorah and Kotal Kahn.
I've trusted NRS ever since then, and they haven't let me down as far as MKX is concerned.

We can check one off this list now. Maybe they're in order?
The skull boots are Quan Chi.
So we can assume they'll go in order. My fingers are crossed that the next dude with the boots and what appears to be a long coat is Kabal. Probably not though but who knows.

Whoa! Just when I thought Quan Chi was already the most bad-ass villain in the history of MK...he's even MORE bad-ass now! He may have surpassed Sephiroth as my favorite gaming villain of all time...

actually let me rephrase that I dont trust nrs with the rest of the cast lol, gameplay wise yes in terms of whos returning, No, I really want them to bring back skarlet cause she has unique powers, but who knows there might be a lot of let down though,they cant please everybody. but yeah ive said this before I think boot# 2,5 or 6 belongs to Kabal.

I am just in shock, this is what I woke up to.
That fatality bit at the end is priceless. For some reason it reminds me of this horror flick that I cannot remember the name, but I always see it in a top ten gruesome death video, where this chick gets her eyeball impaled by a splinter of wood. It really reminds me of this movie, well, at least that part.
I am impressed once again, I freaking love this reveal!

Just when you thought Quan Chi couldn't be anymore of an a-hole...
I love the costume. Finally they switched it up a little. The variations are ehhh, at least the demon conjuring one. I feel like they could add more to it. Hopefully they do.
The fatality is priceless. Deserving of an evil sorcerer.

Not really.
It looks very similar to his MK9 move set, but expanded on and improved upon.
Controlling people and using portals isn't something new to Quan Chi in MKX.
Quan Chi had similar portal and controlling moves in MK9.
There's nothing about those moves that says Shang Tsung or Noob Saibot.
As for the boots:
1) Quan Chi
My guesses for 2 thru 6 are:
2) Johnny Cage
3) Liu Kang
4) Mileena or Tanya
5) ????? (I still have no clue who that could be)
6) I'm hoping that it's Fujin.

Hey now that I think of it, Bo Rai Cho is a really good fit for number 5. You can see the rounded leg before the Boot, might be looking too much into it, but that is a sign of pudginess, considering the rest of the legs are more lean.

Fujin can be 3 or 6.
Reiko can be 2 or 6.
Kenshi can also be 2.
But... I WANT NUMBER 4 REVEALED NEXT!!!!

Quan Chi looks awesome. I always like his character and I'm so glad that he is no longer using his MKDA design. At least we know that they are not ditching the cliffhanger ending from MK9 now. People can stop worry about them ignoring it now.

3 is more likely to be a revived / Zombie (I hope not) / or scarred up Liu Kang, IMO.
Where does this confusion come from?
Ed specifically Tweeted that MKX would continue from MK9 AND have an original story.

The female leg totally looks dark-skinned. I bet all my money she's Tanya. She was hinted before with her MK4 Fatality (the one she breaks the opponent's neck with both legs around). Considering she is rather popular for the very few appearances she's had, I'll say that after Shinnok, she's the most obvious MK4 character to be in X. Can't wait for her!

Ed Boon said the boots are mix of old and new characters. Quan Chi is #1 then I guess #3 and #6 could be new characters.

Because people first heard "25 Years" and immediately lost all control and panicked. At least most have actually kept up to date with news and know that it will span from MK9's End to 25 years later, but others are probably writing this game off in terms of story and aren't bothering to keep up to date with the news. It happens, logic is hard to come by sometimes.
