Price Levels for MK9 Kollector's and Tournament Editions (Official)

The statue that is included in the KE looks to be very high quality, something you'd easily want to pay $40 for. Heard we will be getting better pictures soon.
Plus, after a $5-$10 down payment, you have 4-5 months to save up!!

True, the figure is way higher quality than I was expecting, and I'll definitely have the money by then, but man, it really makes me question just how badly I need a couple of figurines that aren't going to do anything other than sit there and look cool. The thing is, I was also planning on picking up one of the new 360 pads to play this on at the same time (you still gonna review that, Pat?), so between the two, that's a pretty sizable chunk of change.

I'm even considering the Tournament Edition now if I'm already going to be paying that much. I'd have to relearn playing on a stick, and it really isn't practical for anything other than MK, but damn does that thing look sweet.

The Sub and Scorp are a set that make bookends. :)

Not sure about the quality of the stick... may not be worth it. Although it appears to be easily mod-able and it looks ****ing sexy I'm pretty sure a wireless stick will be laggy.

I was all for the Kollector's edition before, but the more I think about it, I'm actually considering the Tournament edition instead. Like you said, the figurines will just sit there and look cool, and I myself do like memorabilia but the novelty quickly wears off for me. Whereas the stick looks cool too and I can actually use it, even though I'm not good at it, it can provide a different, nostalgic experience.
As far as not being practical outside MK, I wonder if someone will find a way to hook it up to a PC, since console controllers can easily be hooked up by installing drivers. I currently use a ps3 controller for mame, but would be fun to have the MK9 stick as an option.

So what's the deal with the tournament edition being available @ best buy? I want subzero and his spine rip fatality. Anyone know when they'll be up?

Re: Just Preordered Tournament Edition from Amazon!

I pre-ordered from Gamestop before any other editions were revealed.

I think I may put my money on thr Kollector's Edition.
Toasty fatality is a must...
It had to have felt awesome ordering the Tournament Edition though =(

Re: Just Preordered Tournament Edition from Amazon!

That's fantastic bro! I don't have a credit card sadly so I won't be pre-ordering anything. I have an EB games card with money on it from games I traded in. I guess I'll get the game with that. Unless I ask my parents, but that's kinda pathetic for a 20 year old.

No its not lol. age aint nothin but a number. If they can and are willing to help you out - y not ask? You are still their child - even at age 20 ;)

@my knee grows: it does feel great to have TE preordered. Im also getting the KE from Gamestop as soon as I get back to Miami (Im in Baltimore for winter break at the moment). Ive never had any MK paraphernalia before so the arcade stick, figurines, and art book will be great decor for my xbox 360 :)

I want to pre-order from amazon just to get the reptile skin

but if gamestop does a midnight release of MK....

it might sway me

do you guys have a link to the kollectors edition on amazon.com i cant find it?

nvm found the link

Also if you order the Kollectors do you get the reptile / fatality and also another retro skin for someone else can someone explain that?

I just got home from buying the Tournament Edition. I am so excited over this!!!! What a great idea to put the arcade stick in the bundle. I would love to have 2 of them though. Does any1 know if you will be able tp buy a 2nd arcade stick, just by itself??? I think it would be so sick to buy a 32inch flat screen and another PS3 (prob. used) and build a custom cabinet around everything, and have my own Mortal Kombat 9 arcade!!!! thoughts??

It looks pretty legit to me...... what makes you think the quality will suck???? and how does it connect to the ps3??? accessory settings???

I clarified that confusion already, it was one of the earlier posts in this thread, ill post it again:

Yeah you do get it with the standard version, it even says on Gamestop's website. What is very confusing is that in the kollector's and tourney editions is that theyre giving away a retro ninja kostume. Since they havent specified which one it is, we have been led to confusion thinking that retro ninja kostume is the one you get when you pre-order from the specific store. That, however is not the case, as the Scorpion, Sub Zero and Reptile costumes are seperate entities from the retro kostume included in the kollector's and tournament editions, it is evident because they are giving away the codes with standard versions of the game. So we are going to be getting a completely different ninja's retro kostume in the kollector's and tournament editions, we do not know which ninja it is yet, as well as the pre-order store exclusive skins... I hope that makes sense to everyone.

Any idea who you guys think the ninja kostume that comes with the special editions might be? i have a feeling that youre gonna enter the DLC code and then you have a choice between the ninjas and you get to download just one for free...

I also Pre-Ordered my game way back (1 day after E3).
I upgraded to the Kollector's Edition at GameStop.
Can't wait to get Scorpion's Classic Costume and "Toasty."

Also, if the retro ninja is a secondary Classic ninja and Fatality DLC, I hope we get the choice of Sub Zero or Reptile.
That way, I can get the Scorpion and Sub Zero stuff in the GameStop Kollector's Edition.

thanks taj i knew someone posted i just didnt know were too look, i was in a rush being on break from work.
