What exactly do you dislike about him? I'm not sure if you're familiar with TMK on YouTube but he posted a video, stating why he disliked him but the reasons were mostly half assed. I believe his main argument was, "He's not a character, he shouldn't be in MKX." Not saying that your reason is as simple as his and you have the right to dislike who you want (Lord knows I hate plenty of characters people are clamoring for to be in DLC packs), I'm just curious.

My two cents on the matter come from my personal point of view. I believe the ninjas have been the central selling point of the series, rivaled only by the gore aspect. That being said, I've wanted a new and playable one for a long time. I was about ten or so when Special Forces came out and although there was next to no information on Tremor, I clung to the idea of him. He was a different color and had a unique power. In every game after that one, I thought he was going to be in, only to be disappointed time and time again. Now that he's finally in, I can say the wait was worth it. There's still not enough for me to put him in my top five or even top ten characters in MK history just yet but NRS definitely delivered. His fatalities, voice, and variations are all on point. The only thing I wish NRS would have done is had him mentioned in the story mode. Something as small as Kano saying, "I'll roll over on one of my guys if you let me go. I'm sure Jax wants a few shots at Tremor" to Sonya would have sufficed. Other than that, though, his debut was a complete success. I'm just trying to see what people dislike about him.
 
My reason is that I never understood what was so likable about him. He had only two moves which was a ground pound and a fireball in which he could fire up to three bolts. He was dressed as the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 "ninja" garb. He's associated with Kano and his Dragon clan. He's evil.

Out of all of those characteristics, nothing stood out for me before his inclusion with X. Absolutely nothing. And people kept wanting him and made a big deal about it if you say anything that's not really positive. I'm not the kind of person that would shit on a fan base of a character, that is not me (I think people know who I am by now). But I think I'm entitled to say "I don't really like him" and not have a bunch of people taking it like I just killed their dog or something. It's like the Tanya fanbase, but Tremor's fanbase isn't as harsh as what I received when I mentioned things I didn't care for with Tanya. So it's not a fanbase that irks me about Tremor. It's just that I never found what was so likable about him because nothing stood out for me during the past.

I have yet to buy Tremor and it's not because of me not liking him. I just haven't gotten around in playing Mortal Kombat X recently since I'm stuck playing Advance Warfare (I just love pissing people off with akimbo irons). But from what I've seen, I like what I have seen. I may not be a fan of his, but I don't hate him as much as I used to. I will buy him when I play Mortal Kombat the next time.

(To be honest, I tried playing last Tuesday. I guess that's when he came out? And I did not see him in the store. And that's when I stopped playing.)
 
If Li Mei is to be a character in this timeline, I do not think she should be a fighter. I got no vibe at all that she was even fit for combat, considering how she looked and the way she spoke. She sounded like she was scared and I do not believe that should be a trait of any selectable character in this timeline. Her being background filler is perfectly fine, though, if they were to use her as the mother or older sister for an up and coming guy or lady. I know this is an alternate reality and all but the MKDA/D/A era ruined most characters before they even got a real chance. They are forever damaged goods in my opinion. Li Mei is a prime example of this. She used Mileena's weapons, had generic projectiles, and was an all around bore. I don't see anything different with her small story mode inclusion. Her looks in all the previous games were very lackluster to me, as well.

His potential. What he was at the time was nothing special, but what he could be made into is what got people interested. That's why almost every piece of Tremor fan art reinvents him in some way. Nobody wanted Tremor in because "Ground pounds and fireballs oh boy!" they wanted him in because they were imagining this

I get that now. Before X, I couldn't care less what fans imagined because I honestly didn't think he'd actually make it as a character. I've always looked at him as just a very over-hyped, bland kind of boss from a very poor game and that was it.

I'm glad the fanbase got what they wanted. Sure, there are those who HAVE to find something to dislike, but overall he's what the fans have wanted him to be like. So kudos to them.
 
Pretty harsh way of looking at it. Aren't you a fan of Reiko and Hotaru? Certainly you don't want them to be directly ported from old games right? I'd imagine you'd have some ideas you'd like to see.
 
I'm a fan of Hotaru, not so much Reiko. And yeah, I know there are people out there who would laugh that I would like a character that seems to have a one-game appearance who hardly did anything interesting with the exception of impaling Li Mei like a boss in Armageddon's intro. No big deal, you're entitled.

At the moment, I really don't have anything for Hotaru that I'd like to see new. Really, I liked everything about the character that maybe a few changes could happen here and there, but I really liked the overall character. My only complaint is that I don't know what the series would do with him since I don't know how Orderrealm plays into this timeline.

Yeah, I'm a picky person. I'll admit it. :-)

Well, hopefully it'll be Gamescom. That's the next big gaming event of the year, and new games will be announced there by other devs. It'll also be about two weeks since Tremor was released, so the timing would be about right.

When's the next thing after Gamescom? I don't want to be kept waiting much longer. :(

I don't really mind waiting for footage or release, I just want confirmation of who we're getting.
 
So, 70 people have now voted, and 45 of those would like to see Fujin. It's interesting that Sareena and Li Mei both have 16 votes.

I think some sort of announcement this week is very likely. I can't wait to see who they reveal, but Fujin has to be in the mix somewhere. I do wonder whether the plan is to drip-feed us another couple of characters, or we'll get a whole new Kombat Pack. Hmm. In terms of how successful the game has been for WB, I don't really see a reason not to go for the latter.

Who are you to speak for everyone?
I didn't care for any more "ninja" characters in MKX.
In fact, I'm pretty sure that I was also against the inclusion of Ermac and Reptile in MKX, because the only 2 "ninja" (if you want to call them that) characters that I felt had to be there in order for people not to riot are Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

I wanted Tremor in for his potential as a character.
I've even mentioned the whole idea of stalactite / stalagmite moves, way back in 2013 and 2014.
The same type of moves that [MENTION=4889]BBBLP[/MENTION] implied in that gif.
Plenty of times on these very threads I have also stated Tremor being more of a nomad / middle-eastern type of character in MKX, and I was called racist 1 time by someone who wanted to pull the race card on me (because everyone walks on eggshells these days) for even suggesting that.
