Look, the only reason I said that is so they can convey to us that he is blind. To a regular person who has no idea he is blind or know he is blind from reading his bio, he would still look like he can see cuz his head moves with the character. If other moves like Sonya's kiss, Kratos Helios head, etc, don't work then you wouldn't have that big of a need to make his head not track because we know he is blind. I also guess it isn't a big deal either cause he his spiritual sight. But then again he doesn't have to head track cuz he knows where that are anyways.
I liked how he looked toward the screen in the 3d games. I felt like I was playing someone that was blind. I liked that. I guess I'm afraid that novelty will be gone, but maybe not with this new game. I'm gonna play him regardless cause I like the character.
We all should know that other senses get better when one goes, so I have know doubt that he would really know where someone was. But it is all about conveying it to the audience. Have you ever wondered why T.V. shows and movies, that are not about video games or nerds, get games sooooo wrong and worry about levels and high scores and play sound effects and music from games that are 30+ years ago? It is because they need to let their audience know that the person is playing a video game and they need to make the person watching that knows just about nothing about video games, know that it is a video game. I feel like you are insulting my intelligence or something.
