Noob Saibot in MK X?

You know what's funny? In the 25min story trailer, when we saw Jax com out, I thought at 1st glance the Ninja was Noob Saibot, but It was Smoke, and then it was revealed to be Enenra!!!!

Anyway, even though it doesn't seem like he'll be playable I am hoping at the very least we get a cameo from Noob Saibot/Bi-Han and find out what happened since he got kicked in the Soulnado!

Well, we kinda already know where Bi-Han is. We've seen the intro between Sub-Zero and Quan Chi where Quan Chi says that he has Sub's brother's soul.

That's kinda why I thought that Subbie would be Bi-Han, because I thought Quan Chi meant Kuai Liang's soul due to the events in MK9. But since Subbie IS Kuai Liang, then he must mean Bi-Han's soul.

The only thing "I have your brother's soul" thing definitively konfirmed is the fact that MKX Sub-Zero was NOT a new character. I knew then that it was either Bi-Han and Kuai Liang. I was among the first to argue the case for it being the now-konfirmed Kuai Liang.

It has been revealed that the Sub-Zero in MKX is...

Spoiler:
Kuai Liang

As for Smoke...

Spoiler:
He's shown as revenant in his MK9 alt, confirming he is just an NPC.

It's obvious that Liang is in MKX but Bi-Han has not been de-confirmed! I was merely speculating on the absence of evidence proving Noob/Bi-Han's where abouts

As for smoke, he has revealed himself as now being "Enenra" much like how Noob Saibot was the orginial Sub-zero's revenant form resurrected as a wraith by Quan Chi. Smoke is dead, Enenra now lives.

I think people are getting a bit carried away with that quote tbh.

At some point, Smoke can - and probably will - be brought back as a normal playable character, in the same way that Jax, Kung Lao and Liu Kang evidently are in story mode. When he calls himself an Enenra, it's because he's in Revenant form and so his original 'human' (in as much as Smoke ever was) form is dead... as with all the other Revenant characters.

This isn't NRS saying 'okay, we've killed off Smoke, we're now going to introduce a new smoke-based character called Enenra' -- it was just a cool bit of dialogue referencing the fact that Thomas/Smoke had been killed in his mortal form, and brought back by Quan Chi as a Revenant, or in his specific case, an Enenra.

That's how I look at it. And besides, if Smoke is playable - either as an unlockable (unlikely), or as DLC (possibly) - then he's going to have a restored human form as his main costume, and his Revenant form from story mode would be his alt.

Well... we don't really know what it means, do we? That's the point. It could just be a bit of flavor dialogue and nothing more, or it could mean that as Enenra he will be Noob's replacement in the new timeline (most ambitiously evil Revenant), or it could mean that he'll be back as Smoke but with a completely redesigned look and moveset. All of these are equally plausible at this point.

That's how I look at it. And besides, if Smoke is playable - either as an unlockable (unlikely), or as DLC (possibly) - then he's going to have a restored human form as his main costume, and his Revenant form from story mode would be his alt.

I feel like those are unwarranted assumptions at this point.

Well, statistically they're not. Not at all.

What do we know about all of the playable characters who became Revenants in the story? They're on the roster with their primary (older) costumes, and will almost certainly have Revenant costumes as unlockable alts. This is more or less confirmed, because we know these characters are playable and we know they have Revenant costumes in story mode.

What of Smoke? We know he's in story mode and we know he has a Revenant costume. Therefore, if he is playable at some point then it is highly likely that he will have his Revenant form as an alt. costume. Why? Because everyone else does.

Are we going to have a default Revenant form of one character on the roster? Yeah it's possible, but it's highly unlikely. We also don't know if he appears later on in story mode in human form, having been restored. We've only seen a short clip with him in.

You may disagree with what I'm saying, but it is certainly not unwarranted assumption. Hell, if it wasn't for a single line of dialogue we wouldn't even be having this conversation, and we already knew that Smoke was a transient being made of smoke and able to adopt a humanoid form. This is old news.

Yeah, i understand your opinion, but I believe that "NRS" is going to take Smokes story down the Enenra path much like they have with Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot, somewhat filling the Dark Ninja assassin void.

Your belief is some what based on the possibility that Smokes Enenra form will be short lived and he will be resurrected to his human form, where I believe he will not. I think it's more than just dialogue filler but the announcement of a knew character.

Just my opinion.

But i guess we'll wait and see for our selves

I was confused by your use of "alt" earlier. If you simply mean that it would be one of the alternate costumes he has access to, then yes, he would. Would it be his alt though? No, all confirmed characters with Revenant skins have non-Revenant as their second costumes.

Are we going to have a default Revenant form of one character on the roster? Yeah it's possible, but it's highly unlikely. We also don't know if he appears later on in story mode in human form, having been restored. We've only seen a short clip with him in.

Why do you assume that a non-human skin must be a Revenant? Maybe DLC Smoke gives in to the evil like Noob Saibot did, and is given a measure of free will that allows him to become a true demon for his primary outfit? Or maybe he is resurrected, but the powers he unlocked as "Enenra" are still with him and he untaps his full potential as a good guy smoke monster?

Look at the playable "ninjas" in MKX: Sub-Zero? Has significant story presence in a unique outfit. Ermac? Doesn't even resemble a ninja. Reptile? Not a ninja. Tremor? Looks like a bruiser, not a ninja. Scorpion is the only one who embraces the ninja look. I would be more than a little disappointed if DLC Smoke took that away from Scorpion. NRS is helping each character carve out their own visual identity, and Smoke deserves his.
