New RealmMedia Networks Forum a little.. uhm?

yeah they are used on another message board i go to...in fact some noob had a fit because alot of people were giving him bad rep...lol But it works the same...click that little check/X box in the lower left corner of someones post to give them positive or negative.... and you can only give it to the same user every so often....you have to spread it around before you can give the same person positive rep....at least thats how it works at the other MB i go to... mmmm positive rep ;)

these forums are really starting to grow on me....much nicer then the old ones....
 
Meh I came here because it was trmk, this is just another forum. dissapointed. I spose I just won't be around as much, but I'll stop in now and then, good luck.

Ah nuts, I guess I'm screwed right now as far as getting my UMK3 Scorpion avatar back. Are you guys going to put in another avatar gallery at some point?

I think staff is starting to get sick of MK, I wouldn't have suggested doing this, they should have made a new forum and left trmk how it was.
 
Your doing a great job, and thanks for the dark theme, it helps bring back the 'TRMK' setting to my eyes :)

No, "Rep" points are accumulated to your profile for later MK goodies and when you have 10 you earn Reptiles first special move "Acid Spit" when you hit 20, you earn his "Invisibility" then after you hit 30 Rep points, you earn his "Force Balls" This continues until you actually morph into a TRMK member, this will take 100 Rep points.

I am actually really starting to like this so much better than the old format. I don't know why, I just am. Maybe its because its more "futuristic"

Not only that, Sugie, it's also different in that it's refreshing. Sometimes a change is what is need to to make things more interesting. One thing I really do like is the "Sub Forums" in the MK Realms. With the PHPBB forum, that section was getting really big. Now it's more concise and much better. I have also noticed that the avatar and siggy priveleges that go with Invision are more generous in terms of file sizes etc.
 
Well, I'll come right out and say this...I hate it. All of it. The banner, the layout, the creations of "Subforums" for the old MKs...It's all just wrong. I would be quite happy with a "classic TRMK" forum skin that everybody has been suggesting. The good old black, grey, 'n green. The forum isn't ruined, it's still the same ppl posting the same stuff, but dammit if I'll ever say this change is a positive one. But like you guys said, it's either stay here or leave. I'm reserving judgement on whether it will come to that...but it is a possibility.

P.S. If you give us a classic forum skin, can you post it in a new thread so the announcement doesn't get burried amidst the comments? I wanna know if and when it happens.
 
Thanks to all the users who are giving us bug reports and various other things. It's helping us fine tune this forum to work the best. It has a lot of settings and we're just trying to get them all worked out.

As for the "TRMK is changing" people, TRMK is always going to be The Realm of Mortal Kombat. The website is still there isn't it? All the MK forums are still here aren't they? We just decided that running one large super forum for MK and everything else is the best thing to do for us. We decided to build this super gaming forum off of the forums that you all helped create! You should be happy for that.

There WILL be specific MK themes and other game themes, everything is still a work in progress. There is plenty of new cool things coming, just be patient. I'm trying to do 101 things and only have time for 20.
 
The limit for PMs is now 100, if you hit that limit I suggest you learn how to use the trash and stop being a pack rat.

As far as the side bar, that'll be for ad placement (need money to run this site ya know) and for promotions for various Realm Media (ie: TRMK, GOWR) announcements, etc.

ADS!!!! NOOOO>.... that block name throws the whole forum off its axis...plus there are more ads after every 5th post or so.... :(

It's either there or at the top of the page, and also part of it will be reserved for ourselves mostly to advertise features of the other sites. Say something like your Shaolin Monks guide, or other stuff like that.

I didn't know what to think the first time I came on here. After using the system, I like the whole functionality of it ALOT better. However, on that note, the themes leave a lot to be desired. The black one still needs a lot of work. I'm currently using the blue one because it's easier to see what does what, however I may go blind by the end of the week. ;)

Yeah I agree with you here, it was the first dark one I found. There will be more added soon, gotta look through them to find a few good ones.
 
I found one problem I sort of don't like, with the Dark scheme, the borders for all of the boxes is a very dark grey, meaning It looks like there are none. Any way of making the borders a lighter grey so they are visible, or is this just me and they are already? I don't know.

I am liking the new forums, but I loved the old TRMK. vBulletin is ok, but when you get those 101 things done, maybe you can add an arcade!

Also for those wondering about rep points, it was already explained well, you give them and get them. They are also determined by your post count if I am not mistaken and they kinda of show your status in the forums and it's like having mod power/status at least on the other site I go to.

Also, what is this 'group' thing in the profile? I don't see a place to join groups.
