New Rating

There's a big debate of what rating MK vs DCU will be. Many state it's going to be rated T, while others say M for the Joker's fatality.

I myself sorta have a different view. There may be a very VERY slim chance that the ESRB may create a new rating just for the game! Think about it, back in 2005 the E10 rating came outta nowhere! The first E10 game I remember playing was Shadow the Hedgehog.

Thoughts?

I really don't think the delay is due to any new rating being created. I think it more has to do with the game not at the completion level yet to be submitted and reviewed by the ESRB. Then I'm sure if they got a rating they don't want, that there is an appeal process.

I didn't hear about a delay. Is that just late in submitting it to the ESRB? There won't be a delay on the release will there? I couldn't handle the pain.

There is no delay. They dont rate games until they have a finished version to rate. Nobody has their games rated until then, even if we know what its gonna be rated, like GoW2.

Which MK was banned in Australia? None to my knowledge. The only MK game not to get an Australian release that I know of was MK:SF, because it wasn't going to sell. I had Mega Drive MK1-3, PS MKT-4, PS2 DA-A, Shaolin Monks and played Mythologies.
As for our rating system, M15+ is recommended for mature audiences. MA15+ is restricted to mature audiences. A bit like the T- T+ system. It is silly that we also have a PG. We need an R rating for our games.

Don't you see, Midway worked hard to get this into the T rating. So if this game turns out to be an M in the end, they just wasted so many ideas. Such as more gorier fatalities.
