Mortal Kombat X to feature microtransactions?

OK so can someone explain microtransactions?

Are you spending your ACTUAL money?
or
Are you spending your IN-GAME money?

Actual money. So like... Lets say there's a certain costume available through the online store, that would be a microtransaction. Or a chance to buy in-game currency (with real money) instead of working for it.

Are you familiar with Candy Crush? Purchasing gold or boosts would be microtransactions.

Yeah i get what you mean! I just dont get why its called "microtransaction"! But thank you for the clarification.

I can easily see micro transactions for the Krypt if there is one.

Unlock for 1000 coins or 500 Kombat Bucks

1000 Kombat Bucks - $.99
2000 Kombat Bucks - $1.99
5000 Kombat Bucks - $4.99

and so on and so on

When I buy a game, the entire thing is MINE and I can do whatever I want with it, and anyone who doesn't like that fact can eat shit. You are either with the consumer, or you are against the consumer.

You know those EULA's that everyone just skips and doesnt read? You know that those technically say that you DONT own the game right?

Not disagreeing with you but sadly, thats just the way things are these days.

Microtransactions in $60 games and all this bullshit DLC is a cancer to the game industry these days

The First Sale Doctrine says otherwise. Once a copyrighted work is sold to the consumer, ownership is legally and permanently forfeited to the consumer. Because of that, ELUAs that contradict the First Sale Doctrine are legally worthless.

You don't own that arcade machine. You're paying for a service. Not the same thing. I can't go to a car park and say 'but I paid yesterday'. Ownership makes it different. If you buy it, you own it. Nothing should be taken away in actual content unless say, its the particular business model of an MMO (afterall you don't own an MMO). If it's just xp boosts, fine. If its costumes already in the game that's bad practice. Something like xp boosts isn't withholding anything.

Ed Boon once said putting a quarter in an arcade machine IS a micro transaction. I'll take his word over yours any day of the week. 😈

I just saw an article saying micro transactions will only be on the last gen systems. Which may hold truth because its a different developer making the last gen versions.

If the disk is 100% full with content, then I m willing to pay any downloadable content(DLC). Actually that's the point of DLC to expand a game, not to make it more expensive. Paying additional money to get virtual money is something unacceptable. Don't say it's optional because if you really want to unlock anything, the only wayt to do i is to get "in game coins".

Anyway if you still want to pay, it's your choice, personally I won't buy the game if I need to buy in game coins to unlock everything.

I'm not sure you're understanding the concept.

Like MK:DA - MK9, you will still be able to earn in game coins by playing the game. What's optional with microtransactions is that you can pay REAL MONEY to gain in game coins, therefore bypassing the in game requirements to earn the in game coins.

I get that, but in some games it would take u 3 years to unlock everything the ''normal way'' something that I find unfair. For example if you want to increase your player's stats in nba2k15 the ''normal way'' it will take u 7 seasons, but if u pay you can do it in one minute. That's what I'm afraid off

At the end of the day is up to you, to do whatever u want with your money and that's not for me to judge.I just stated an opinion

SO WHAT!? Microtransactions is something different than PAY TO WIN YOU DUMBASSES!!!! No way in HELL NRS is going to go P2W with MKX, if they do i'll take back what i just said & will call NRS dumbasses.
But seriously paying to unlock costumes or what ever im fine with that, if theres a faster way, PAYING 2 WIN? NO no no nonononononononooooooooooo. I think they know what they're doing!

I hope you're right man cause I love MK and I trust NRS. It's WB games I don't trust because they get to chose what happens

Understood, and like you said there are two sides to this. But to be fair, I don't mind requirements like that because it adds a replayability factor. Especially for someone like me, because I don't really play fighting games competitively, I play for the completion factor. If it takes me like 3 years to unlock or complete something, so be it.

In that case I believe you re right and you shouldn't care if they put microtransactions.

By the way, how do I thank people? This is the first time I join a forum, can anybody explain?
Sorry for the irrelevant question.

Sorry for the irrelevant question.

You need to accumulate 100 posts before you can thank someone.

Someone more enlightened than me can explain why lol.
