He had a few cameos in MK9, so it's not surprising that he has not been retconned out of existence.

The background cameos, as the one in the Pit stage in MK9, were just cameos though. Canonically, they weren't really there.

Daegon created the Red Dragon and the Black Dragon would not exist without the Red Dragon. Anything happen before MK1 still happen in the new timeline.

You can all go to bed. Comixology updates in the morning. They almost never release comics exactly at midnight unless its a huge release and I doubt Mortal Kombat would fall under that category

I've been saying that for a long time, given that MK9 never specified anything about Sub-Zero helping Quan Chi and Shinnok find the amulet in the MK9 timeline.
It just specified that he defeated them.
If the comics are going back before MK1, then MKM: SZ can possibly be retconned too.
