Mortal Kombat Trilogy Extended [by MKTX Team]

The problem with the shotgun shells is that they don't fit much with the style of the game, given they are just multiple single lines. They could have a little bit of shading around them, to look more MK styled.

The Shotgun Fatality is spot on! Stryker is officially cool again! awesome combos! Nice work Kage and the rest of the MKTX team. I always like seeing progress.

I love the new Fatality and the new combo ending with the stun gun. NetherRealm should pay you guys to release this as an official MK release! Kind of like how Midway paid those MIT guys for making the game that became Ms. Pac Man without the original intention to make it for Midway.

I'm not sure if this question has been answered, but is this game going to be as fast as the real MK Trilogy, Arcade UMK3 or MK2?

Patience is the key. Just sit back and watch the progress unfold. I've see some good progress so far and it's good.

I'm very impressed by not only the attention to detail in everything we've seen so far, but also in the adherence to the spirit of MK Trilogy overall. So many projects have fallen apart in the past because they didn't have a concise vision of where they were going and what they wanted to do, but it's easy to see that that isn't a problem with MKTX. Super excited to have come across this project randomly the other day, and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Also I'm hoping MK2 Kung Lao will have a normal run, instead of the crazy "walkspeed x2" run that he had in the original Trilogy. I call the speed he moves at in that "Mach Lao" it's so fast. This combined with the fact that his Raidenpush bounces him all the way back across the screen on-block made MK2 Lao insane god tier in that. Hoping he'll come down a notch or two into the realm of legitimacy in MKTX. :v

Not that this is really an important detail, but are you guys considering to add either MK3 or MKT styled bio screens to the game? Kind of feels like a nice thing to have between demonstrations, in case those are also intended to be included.

It would be cool to have the bios on the demo screens, but hopefully they focus on the characters & gameplay before the menu fluff; with such a small team there's not a lot of time to devote to any given aspect at any one time. :)

On the topic of bios though, if they do them I hope they make them better looking than they were originally. The versus pose w/ crappy white text really smacked of "just do whatever" from Midway/Virtual Concepts/whoever.

I was always partial to the stone look of MKII's menus. It had just enough air of kung fu movie set & barbaric stone architecture look that satisfied both the martial arts and the otherworldly aspects. 3 and beyond felt a bit "feh" in their art direction.

It would be cool to have the endings/bios be wide swaths at the top of the screen, with the dark gray/blue stone at the bottom where the text goes.

I hope they use the "Game Over" screens from all 3 MKs as well. It'll keep it nostalgic and change it up a bit instead of the same "Game Over" screen with the same music everytime.

Basically anything that isn't the original trilogy screen will be an improvement. I dunno what the love affair with that Announce font was back then, but hooboy does it make things look dated now. MK2's art direction was much better against time than MK3/Trilogy's was, haha.

I wouldn't really think about going as far as making pictures like in MK2 bios. I actually really love those, but I imagine those would be quite hard to put together, given there would need to be a close up of every character along a background and such. If anything, I'm more than fine with going with the MK3 bios:

Mostly due to the fact that characters in MK3 had unique good looking sprites specifically for the biography screen, and it wouldn't be as difficult to make, from what I imagine it. In fact, I recall seeing quite the many custom MK3 bio sprites out there.
