because they know that the originals would sell and probably sell well for little to no effort...its pretty much all profit...and i dont think its NRS...WB owns the franchise so they ultimately make the decisions ...if the HD Kollection existed i would think it would make an appearance next year..this gives them much more time and works well for the 20th anniversary


from what i gathered from those screenshots and author was basically it was just upscaled sprites with some added features...and then some parts were reshot with new actors....or its really good fake if you look at jax's lower half, it looks pixelated compared the dragon which is also behind the health bars...i dont know what to think anymore...i wonder if there is any gameplay footage anywhere

If you consider that they're making all of them available on both systems instead of one game on each, it's not just re-re-re-buying. It's the cost of porting them to current systems, giving them Achievements/Trophies, adding control adjustments and adding online play. That's not a bad way to spend $10, IMO.
 
After this last year speculating, hoping, and scouring the internet for evidence of the hd kollection....there is finally evidence, and it looks wonderful...yet it makes me sick to my stomach.

Because it's a glimpse of what we'll never have.
 
I dont believe. all the guy said was that the screens that are posted wont be used in the final DLC game(except Friendly Kombat). That doesnt mean the HD was scraped it probably means that they have made them better.

The DLC coming this summer will be the original Arcade games, not HD remakes. This excerpt is taken from the announcement press release:

...Developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with NetherRealm studios, the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will offer fans the chance to play through the games in their original arcade state and rediscover all their favorite characters, fatalities and environments as well as relive some of the franchise’s most memorable secrets. In addition, this new collection will feature online play, leaderboards, achievements and trophies...

I think jax's model was just a place holder. They clearly had new actors, what would be the point of upscaling anything?
 
You want to send a message and really see what the deal is with this game? Canceled or what have you? DONT BUY The arcade kollection. Whether it's all jammed up in one dlc or not doesn't change the fact that it's all the same thing again! You get to verse online with it? Big deal......I wouldn't even buy the new fight stick because it's still support with the voucher. People do like to collect though......... =T

They might not have wanted use new sprite for the in-game part since doing so could have drastic effects on gameplay.

i dont think so...they may have used new actors for certain aspects...and just upscaled the original sprites, and updated the look a bit

oh well. on the bright side, i get to save some money.
 
if NRS is smart, they'll make one more game that's identical to the "klassics" era. game play, graphics, style, everything.. either that or take MKT and fix all the bugs and re-release it. every MK fan would love to see a sequel and/or remake of MKT to close the chapter on that era, with a great game.

just obviously remove all the glitches and shit.. i.e. infs, ALL block-cancels (defensive jabs, kara jabbing), and other bugs.

why would i not buy the arcade kollection? its only $10.
