Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

arq, great work on both liu and GORO.

Bleed, nice video. i've always been watching your videos and learned a lot.

Keep up the good work guys and don't stop! MK1, MK2 or MK3, there is no difference. (at least for me :))

Jesus, guys, this takes forever! Do you realize it took you a WHOLE YEAR to create just one complete character and it was a copy of existing model (Scorpion -> Sub-Zero)? At this rate, this will be finished sometime around 2021 (no exaggeration or sarcasm intended)! I was about to ask what's with the hold up, but then I scrolled back and everything was crystal clear. :( It doesn't take a genius to figure out that all this nitpicking is not only radically slowing what was already a slow process, but rather KILLING the project altogether! Now, I'm no programmer and as much as I'd want to help get this thing going, I can only contribute by offering an advice. And it's a sound one! uKer, bro, no offense, but you seriously need to step down... I know you mean well, but your constant insisting on splitting hairs is what's going to put an end to this (once) ambitious and promising project! And before your friends come to your defense (and, make no mistake, that is only because they are your friends, not 'cause what I stated here is not true), let's try and summarize things before and after you got involved in everything: Before - Two chars completed (Sub & Scorp) with two chars in early development (Cage & Liu Kang); After - Two chars completed (Sub & Scorp) with two chars in early development (Cage & Liu Kang). Harsh facts speak a story of their own... In fact, if it weren't for you, we'd probably have a completed Liu Kang by now. Sure, you helped create parts of intros and endings, but overall, bearing in mind that's all that is done over a course of a year, it's next to nothing. No disrespect, but the way your interventions are slowing things down, you are more damage than good. :( IMO, Bleed was doing an excellent job on his own with absolutely no need for anyone to lean over his shoulder and point out the flaws in each pixel. Once again, I don't mean to insult or anything... I'm merely pointing out the way things are. So, uKer, if you honestly value this project, I expect you to at least drastically lower your ridiculously high criteria regarding details. To tell the truth, it's an unforgiving overlook on the behalf of the rest of the team involved in the MKR for not noticing this and taking actions. I understand we're all buddies here, but friendship itself won't do much good in getting this project on its feet. I mean, we're not talking about making a treehouse here, right? Come on, guys, snap out of it! Don't let us down like this!

I hope you understand that they do this in spare time. They have a family, work, personal life, and in itself that this project requires a hell of a lot time.
Yes, I can actually understand you , this project is already working almost three years, it seems a really long time, but it is nothing to do, do what they can .

I'm not a friend of any of these guys but I can certainly tell that ticroo is plain wrong.

And I haven't even read all of his nonsense yet...

Here's a simple question for you. Have you actually developed anything yourself before?

Well, if you had bothered to read... No, scrap that - If you had even slightly used your eyeballs for anything other than writing mindless garbage, you would have noticed an answer to your half-wit question written in bold letters just so that semi-literate predictable simpletons such as yourself wouldn't have to strain their undeveloped substitution for a brain over a matter that actually requires more than two seconds attention span. :reddy: And although I'm not a programmer, I have been participating in a development of couple of games (art department)... not that it takes an expert to point out that basically there wasn't almost any progress under uKer. So please, either state something useful and/or meaningful or piss off with those kindergarten provocations. Let me ask you something instead: do you wish to see this game finished someday or what?

u guys have to atleast admit he's right about this part though.

I mean, when we have character models that looked as terrible as the ones in MK9 being produced by big name studios then I can pretty much live with the fact that this HD remake will still look 100x better even if it's not pin point historically accurate.

It doesn't need to be perfect for us to enjoy and appreciate it, you guys are ARTIST, so it's okay to be creative and do your own thing instead of just following the traditional guidelines that were set in the Original

BTW, my 2 cents is that anything related to MK2 and MK3 should be immediately put to a halt until the first one is finished.

If only I could remember when ever I got to nitpick on anything related to Sub-Zero...

Probably, yeah. As you've correctly put it, it's just a matter of standards.

It's been said before. I'm half way round the world to everyone else, so I'd be hard pressed to be able to put a gun to anyone's head if I'm pointing out something they don't want to do.
My slowing things down only goes as far as the artists are willing to let it go.

I agree with some of these things being said here. But what I completely agree with is that characters in MK2/3 should be put on hold until MK1 is finished. I realize these guys are doing this in their spare time and all, but this thread sometimes is turning into a "post you best MK models from any game."

We had Scorpion / Sub-Zero finished, we seen a few Sonya's and the rest of the characters from time to time (excluding Goro and Liu Kang which seem to be coming along steady now) but then we'd see Nightwolf/Kung Lao/UMK3 Scorpion/now Sektor and probably a few other non-MK1 characters I've forgotten about.

Don't get me wrong, the MK2/3 characters look good and all, but it's the wrong thread/game.

At best you could ban the guys from posting their non-MK1 models here (to which I don't see the point), but nobody has any right to demand them to put more time into the MK1 models, let alone stop making MK2/3 models.

Well, if you had bothered to read...

Wow you flipped so fast its almost like you're two different people. Take it from a fellow stress head and calm down a bit. It's just words on a screen mate.

To the rest keep up the excellent work!

I agree with ticroo, uKer is extremely annoying over all with his constant criticism. I don't think I have ever heard something uncritical come from any of uKers posts. uker, You do need to step down and let these guys do there thing. I don't know if you've noticed but, you don't always get responses for your critic and I would assume it's because some of these creators are annoyed by your constant know it all posts.

I would hope that the creators are not being held back by uKer's perspective because it would be ashame to constantly comply with someone that just likes to point out the bad, you will never move forward at a natural pace if you give a person like this any type of power over you or your work. Everyones work has been phenomenal. you are all true artists and true artists do not need to be told what to do. I would prefer to see someone's idea rather than something that was forced out of them by someone else.

I know guys sometimes you see all uker's comments as bad or harmful for this project but trust me he is just trying to get the very best out of us modelers, riggers, animatators, which resumes just in two persons, bleed and me but believe me when I say that maybe my liu kang is not the best and most realistic model In the world but the way liu looks now is because of Uker, his critics are 100% spot on, this critics might slow down a bit the progress but I try to have one animation every week, and I know that if it wouldn't be because of Uker maybe liu kang would be done already but trust me, I wouldnt be as proud of that model as I am now, so let's just be patiance and please don't start saying meaningful things now, we all here have the same goal and it's to see this project finished in a near future, I'm doing my best to make this dream come true and I won't slow down if god will, as soon as I finish liu I will start with goro, the updates on goro you saw was because I was rendering liu's sprites and working on goro at the same time, so just be patiance, this project will be done soon, sonner than you think.

Regards

I guess the concept of constructive criticism is new to some. There is always room for growth even for professional artists, and like any human being, sometimes overlook some details and may take an outsider to see that.

Bleed probably gets bored modeling MK1 characters at times. Let the dude get his MK3 on, lets him take a breather from the project and keeps his skills sharp at the same time. Would be a shame to lose him because he loses interest

in my opinion, I think Uker essential in the project, he only wants perfection as we all want, he helped a lot of things so far, not all observers here are like him.

guys, the idea is to make an extremely similar to the original game, perfection is essential, or just be another mugen with so many out there.
