@MrMos3s I just uploaded one of the ending pictures in dropbox, tomorrow I'll upload the other one cause I had some problems with the final render..... to be honest, I didn't like the final render so tomorrow I'll try it again to see if it works

Yeah the nickname is a Reptile hint from MK1. I'm actually from Croatia (for those who don't know it's near Italy and is one of the six republics of former Yugoslavia) I won't be getting external bluray drive because I woudn't use it that much. I got most of my stuff on DVDs and you can easily find good quality hd on the net these days for almost anything. Anyway I'll get these screenshoots soon.

As for Shang Tsung, I like his head the way it is now. Ho Sung Pak had a mask and makeup on, so he doesn't look like Liu Kang in the game. His robes however, could be much better imo.
 
I put a render of Cage for his ending in drop box. It's going to need a good amount of work to look like the sprite, but just do what you can.
 
Wow Bleed that looks fantastic. Now you just need to work on the second ending screen with this arm out near the Hollywood sign. Should be easy since he has his sunglasses on.

I have found that a lot of MUGEN and Mortal Kombat videos and websites are in Spanish. Sometime's hard to read mugen char code notes, cause they are written in Spanish. I'm from Atlantic Canada.
 
WELL, MrMos3s will be kind of busy for a long time, I just uploaded the second ending portrait to dropbox, I was working with TYM animation, I got the animation setted up, I need to animate his fist, face, hair, cloth, and smooth everything up, I'll take a while but I'll be posting something in a few days.
 
Some W.I.P:
I'm working on special moves. I made the spear code, need some tweaks but is working.
Added "fatality dark effect". I made some changes in the helpers like monks, shang in throne room etc to be affected by this effect too.

 
May be better to use a different pic for Liu BG?

Yeah, picture looks good, but they should use closest. I still think that monks on Courtyard
look very polygonal. Is it possible just redraw them by hand?

His robes however, could be much better
Exactly, it's worst part in this model.

Guys, what tools/resources are you using to model the portraits?
I mean, the actual 3d model. I know that there's a lot of Photoshop later.

Doesn't really matter, everyone uses what program they like. Maya and 3d studio max are the ones we happen to be using for most of the work.




Programs like Max and Maya are for classic modeling and animation, etc. These let you do pretty much anything.

Zbrush and Mudbox are for sculpting, good for creating normal maps.
