I'll consider your suggestion and give it another shot.
I just hope the door is open to (attempts at?) improvement.

My main problems with MrMos3s' version are:
- first and foremost, the lips, especially the upper one. Goro has never had an upper lip. This is primarily what gives me the "blind fat woman" feel.
- mouth expression. I'd say Goro's face has kind of a smirk of satisfaction or self-sufficiency to it, and not that stone-faced look.
- his left eye should be larger, or at least the shade around it.
- his face looks flatter than in the original portrait, his nose more sunken
- his left eye (right in the picture) and nose are too shifted to the center, making him face into the camera more than he should
- the shading and overall structure of the right side of his face (left in the picture) are a bit off. Look at the width of the cheekbone.
- his ponytail is supposed to go beyond the "stem" to the right of the picture

What I'll try to improve in mine:
- Eyes not dead black
- Shape of jaw
- Size and position of ear
- Shape of the ponytail and highlight on top of it
- Expression in left side of the mouth
- Increase saturation in some places

About Johnny Cage, INCREDIBLE work on the model.
I like the Pesina hair even if it doesn't match the mugshot.
Only thing I could suggest is that in the game the head seems less tilted to the back, so the forehead seems closer to the camera. This reveals more of the top of his head, thus the hair appearing "bigger" in the original, and gives it more an "in your face" look, rather than the "what the hell is that" expression.
Also, looking at the length of nose that remains under the glasses in each one, I think his glasses could be moved a little lower on his nose.

Pesina is most likely flexing all his chest, ab, and arm muscles because he (and possibly Boon) were not yet sure exactly how much of the photo would be used.

I'm 99% sure I recognize the face he's making as the same one I see in the mirror after I finish a workout at the gym.

Good work Bleed. I'd leave it as is.
 
As for the Asian or White scorpion, to me it would make sense that the Lin Kuei are Chinese and Scorpion was Japanese.

But for some odd reason, especially in the Lin Kuei, Sub-Zero is white (in MK3), Smoke we later learn is a white european from Prauge named Tomas, and Cyrax is black. I thought the Lin Kuei kidnapped children from local villages.

So anyway, yeah, the MK team clearly didn't care and strayed in other directions from logic.

Ah, the Sub-Zero brothers are half white. Their father was American, mother was Chinese. http://mortalkombat.wikia.com/wiki/Sub-Zero I know most people don't enjoy the mythology of the games, but I find it interesting.

Also I just wanted to say I went back and caught up on all the work you guys have posted recently and I think you're all awesome. The finished game is going to blow everyone away. Thanks for sticking with it.
 
I actually forgot about this, but I thought his father was Chinese and his mother was American? Either way thanks for reminding me. I used to read the wiki's a long time ago.

Really? Smoke is actually Tomas form Prague? lmao! As big of a fan I ever was, I find 90% of MK's story past the first game utterly stupid. Most will disagree with me, but imo it started that way as soon as MKII.

That looks like original resized Cage portrait pic put throught a photoshop filter. My apologies if that's not the case and you actually drew it from scratch. Anywayz, I think that face expression is just right, if that could be translated to 3D model that would be great.

I drawed by hand and painted in Photoshop. Now I'm changing some things because I see that the drawing is actually quite blurred.

Incredible work. You are indeed very talented. But your works lack the sharpness of a photograph. Your lighting and skin tones are almost unbelievably accurate, if only you could capture the skin texture to make it feel less flat.
