Actually Goro has already been completely re-done to match the original.

Hope it's not too late, but I wasn't entirely happy with Goro's mugshot last time I saw it, so here's my take on it.
If you like it, I'm more than willing to help you with any further touchup work that is needed.
Just in case, mine's the one on the left.
EDIT: I just noticed I killed some of the texture in the frown, but that may be fixed if deemed necessary.

Its probably better to do Cages teeth through photoshop by using a real image, MrMos3s should be able to do that
I did this quickly in photoshop to get an idea of how itll look:
For cage's portrait I really like this one. It resembles the original a lot more with the teeth looking like this rather than having the gums showing.

Yeah that's looks like it's done. jmanimal nailed it also, either one could easily go in the game imo. So, there are only intros left for Scoprion and Sub Zero and they are 100% complete!
I don't think we need to follow that logic, it seems Boon and company couldn't make their minds about that sort of stuff. Look at Sub Zero for example. In the bio for MK2 he's clearly Daniel Pesina, but in the ending pics he's some random Asian dude (in the same game, lol) And we all know he didn't look remotely Asian in MK3 with the mask off.

Um, I don't know, I get a "blind fat lady" vibe from it rather than the rugged grunt it's supposed to be.
I did some more touchup.

ears are sticking out more, mouth is a little different, teeth are bigger, glasses are bigger, pose is a little different, cropping matches the sprite.
I don't know if I need to change the hair, maybe you can replace it like with Scorpion's ending? I can send a bald version too.

Looks great! I shouldn't need him bald. Depending on how I do, I may almost suggest keeping it the way you have it, I honestly don't think I would have noticed the hair was different since I've seen Pesina's hair this way so often. We'll see how it goes.

I like uKER goro more , but MrMos3s's goro is not bad too ! Maybe some intermediate version must be done .
@arq_hawkin , your Kang is look great, but the problem is that your Kang is Ho-Sung Pak ,but in the game Lui Kang looks like they are take picture of Bruce lee .

No disrespect but Goro looks like his eyes were hollowed out in your version. MrMos3s version has much more subtle and in my mind accurate shadowing. Thanks for giving it a shot though.

IIRC the Asian guy whose face they used in Sub-Zero's MKII ending is Josh Tsui, the same guy that they used to model Liu Kang's face in MK4.
Edit: Yep, it is Josh Tsui, a fact revealed by Josh himself in a podcast in 2009.

Thanks for the info, I was always wondering who was that guy in Subs ending. He looks like somebody they picked up from the street lol, certainly not ninja/linKuei/assassin/avenger (whatever the hell he is in MK2)
The answer is complicated. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sure we could make Scorpion look Asian, but as others have pointed out, Midway wasn't even sure. So in this case we are left only with opinion. Whenever we've been faced with a tough decision that could go one way or the other, we've taken the simple approach. Copy exactly what you see in the original. Nothing can be more correct than that.

Bleed, the hair "black power" (lol) of the original image is because the lol resolution of images in 1992. YOUR image (the last) is perfect and resembles very much to Daniel Pesina (the eternal J.Cage).

I see your point. Okay, it's not a big deal anyway. I do, however, have an observation regarding Cage's (original) mugshot. It seems to me that Pesina was attempting a smile rather than just advertise toothpaste.
