Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

I have no problem with that whatsoever. But Gojira has less than a month to work on this project (that's what he told us last week) so I really don't want him to waste time going back and working on stuff all over again. While we have Gojira's involvement for a limited time it would be best to focus on Kano, Sonya and to a lesser degree now Lui Kang.

For the record, I didn't model Goro, I only rigged/posed him. Jeremy Ortiz did, a friend of mine who is a far more talent sculptor than I am.





I would like Gojira to give Tsung a shoot... what do you think about it Cal? It could be good... I mean, your G oro is AWESOME but your Tsung, not so much (in my opinion).
 
I doubt, that you compared model with sprites.

You will find differences in all of our models compared to the original sprites. it is not certain what we will go back and alter before the project is final, but that is probably a year or longer away.
 
Actually I'm betting he DID compare the model with the sprites given that MrMos3s created the character portrait for Shang.

Le@N what have you honestly done for this project? I'm asking this sincerely. You keep referencing these perfect sprite rips but you never post them. You reference how I'm using the wrong temple in the far background of the Throne Room but you won't provide a picture of the correct one. You say the model of Shang looks like a walrus but you don't post any true comparison screens. Even the edits you've made to throne room are almost invisible to the naked eye without posting some kind a comparison screen to the original...

So when you say that angry posts make you "not want to help". I'm trying to figure out what you mean? Are you helpful by making blunt non-descriptive criticisms of my work? I'm just trying to see how you've ever been helpful...ever during this entire project.

Funny because If I recall correctly you used to get mad at Jarvis for trying to take control of this project. Back then I defended Jarvis because he WAS contributing with his ideas and ultimately most of the user interface. Here we are a year later and what have you contributed but snide remarks? Also wasn't it you who called VetalFox the "laziest one of all" for not using his talent to contribute to this project? Pretty ironic if you ask me.

About the only thing we can agree on right now. Gojira should he have the time would most assuredly do a better job than I did. His skills have improved incredibly from the last time he tried.



Indeed, Mortal Gojira will make good model, like it was with Goro and Kano.
 
Let's say... why are you using Justin's lifevars when JManimal's version is clearly better?

Just wanted to point out that your usage of the word "clearly" is pretty baseless. If you like JManimal's work better then that's one thing, but to say that his was the definitive, better option suggests that your opinion is superior to anyone else's.
 
Speaking of the temple since he hasn't come up with an example yet I'll chime in here a bit. While there is a round temple like you have in there currently. It seems to me that most of the temples on Shang Tsung's island are of the other kind that you see in other stages that are more square with pitched roofs... or something more like this... and to me it seems like in the various stages you might be seeing the same temples only from different viewpoints. But the temples in the throne room background are so small and hard to see that it's up for interpretation.

Justin: First of all, you're totally right. I said it in such a way that it sounded like my opinion was the only one that matter and that's obviously an stupidity from me. Sorry for that. Also I want to stress the fact that my opinion was not against you, it is still my opinion that jmanimal's lifebar looks closer to the MK1 version and entirely beautiful... if wasn't because of that one version I would have loved your edit... but deep in my mind, it is my honest opinion that jmanimal's version would make this project better.

I could be wrong, or whatever... I'm not going to insist from this point on, as I have VERY clear that I am nothing but a fan, but this one thing bugs me because we are going to see the life bars in every single round and I perceive the other version to be more "accurate" and just because of that reason I find it better.

I'm posting this like an apologize and also like a clarification... it is so hard to love something and to want to be involved, I wish I could help, but at the same time I am completely unable... I think I should close my mouth more often, as I really hate to bring controversy or to piss you guys off. Please excuse my poor modals and exagerated reactions, I did not intended anything bad.

I think it's important that everyone should keep in mind that precisely NOTHING is final at this point. Anything could change between now and the next year or more of this game's development.

Last question, will be temple/forest layer separated from mountains?
It's important if you want to save more colors.

I've been messing with the hair simulator in Max, but I don't think it's going to work. It's way too hard to control, and takes too long to render. Polygon strips like they do in games, is still my best option.
