Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

It is you. I think Cal did an awesome job by making them look different and keeping the spirit of that stage while enhancing its graphics to God-like level.
 
Oh snap, I just solved a big problem with my work flow!!!

I was having a hard ass time with the frame rate in the 3ds.Max viewport, getting less than 2 frames per second, and I couldn't see what I was doing in real time. After some research, and messing with different settings, I got it working at 12 to 13 fps. What a relief, now I can get in the flow of things and not have to fight the lag.


Settings for my crap computer...

Delete the lights from the scene, save them to a different file and Xref them when needed.
Change the Viewport renderer to Open GL
Disable shadows and textures in the viewport
Turn off as many modifiers on the model as possible, leaving only Edit Poly and Skin.
Turn on Adaptive degradation, hotkey "o"
In the Display Tab, set Display color to "Object Color" for wireframe and Shaded views.

Cool...! :) I'm glad you can work better now, it will sure reflect in your results because you can use that time and energy in details of your edits instead of "patiece". I know how it's like to work on a crappy computer.
 
I got the impact part of Kano's Fatality done now, I'll work on the cloth for it tomorrow night, and make a special fall for it.

Kano's fatality uses some basic sprites that don't really make sense, so I'm doing something different and more realistic.

It's so much better to work on this now :)

@Justin, your last version of choose your fighter theme is 10000 times better than the previous versions well done. can't wait to hear the next one.

@cal, goro's statue is WOW. i don't care about the minor issues cause always you can go back and fix theme.

and guys will interloko going to do programming in this project or not? i know bleed is also a mugen professional but with larger team and different skills you will get better result, i'm sure.
 
Now i want to see Sub-Zero vs Scorpion in Courtyard with heart rip fatality reaction(i know Kano is not even started, but Scorpion/Sub-Zero can use low punch+victory pose instead of Kano's fatality sprites).
 
Wait a second guys, do you mean to tell me you don't think Interloko is still into this project? Woah woah woah wait a second, you mean working on this project 1 week out of a 52 week year doesn't count? *Sarcasm*

Guys I hope I'm wrong but I doubt we will ever see another update from Interloko ever again. He is in the process of moving and spending time with his girlfriend and selling all his stuff and *insert* whatever other reason.

This project isn't high on his priority list. He mentioned like 2 weeks ago that he is purchasing a computer so I guess that is a good first step. I've asked him to show progress and he said in not so many words "stop pressing me, I said I would program this project and I will, but I will do it on my schedule, not yours."

Unfortunately that means 1 update per year. I can't make him work on this. I can't make him care. So if anyone knows of a motivated Mugen Programmer please have them contact us. If he came back tomorrow I'd welcome him with open arms but if he had to choose between working on this project and making himself a sandwich I bet you can guess that the sandwich wins every time.

His thinking is, why should he spend time on the project when all the assets aren't complete yet? That kind of thinking is just lazy. I told him that we feed off of each others energy for one thing. Another reason is he could be working out game play issue with just Scorp and Subzero while in the meantime using the low res characters/sprites in there. To be fair his latest version starts to do that a bit. Anyway, I'm told Interloko is an amazing programmer. Unfortunately I'll probably never know because he has nothing finished to really prove it. Again, I'd love to be wrong here.
 
You're not wrong; he haven't finish a thing in his life that anyone know about. By the other side, I do like what Bleed have been showing and I KNOW he is one of the most talented programmers out there in mugen.

As long as Bleed is there, there is MK1HD.

EVERYONE SHOULD BE GRATEFUL AND HAPPY THIS IS HAPPENING...!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Hopefully a suitable replacement is found. While I understand everyone is working on this in their free time, it's not a good idea to leave everyone hanging. I've began to think he's not a part of the project since I hadn't seen any posts by him in a long time. Bottom line: Communication is key.

Don't give up hope, guys.
 
This is normal for indie projects, of what I've seen and experienced. It's rare to see one through all the way, you have to really love what you are doing, almost like an addiction.

If you don't have that natural drive, or some major goal at the end, it's very hard to stay focused and motivated.

Seeing everybody doing their part on a regular basis, is also key. There is a feeling of competition, and When one person get's lazy / bored, the others start to feel like their effort is wasted.

I get a bit of a competitive feeling, when I see someone else update, I want to prove I'm still here, you aren't gonna beat me.


Anyway, I have the Heart rip impact render coming tonight. Once that is uploaded, I'll start on the falling half.
 
It should probably be noted that carz and interloko dont get along so carz will have a biased opinion.

It should also be noted that Interloko is the GODFATHER of MK Project, along with others, and he deserves alot of respect for that accomplishment.

Cal is a bit outside the MK MUGEN community, which is fine. It gives him a clean slate and no preconcieved notions. But for what its worth, you want RantonMalo and Interloko on your team. And be warry of carz aka frozenworm. He is banned everywhere in MKMUGEN MYFREEFORUM LAND. This is the last place he is welcome. Which is fine as well, TRMK has its own rules. Just be warry is all man, and dont count interloko out. remember, he has the actual velocities to make your guys game play close to MK1 Arcade.
 
I need to fix a few things on this one but so far, that's when the hand goes in to his chest.

Thanks for your insight. I'm aware that Interloko and Carz don't like each other all that much. I don't really care for any of the drama surrounding the past even though I can't fully ignore it. Because I have a clean slate to the past I can only judge Interloko by what he has done today. Unfortunately that isn't a whole heck of a lot. Over a year has passed and you can see his effort has been minimal. I don't wish to shame Interloko. He is a nice guy and honestly I can't fault the guy for having a life outside of this project. Like I said, I keep hearing he is this legendary programmer who has the special secret sauce for all the velocities in MK 1 but I'll never really be able to prove it for myself. As I said before, I won't count Interloko out. If he wants to contribute I'd love to have his talent. I also have to be realistic though. So if there is another programmer willing, I wouldn't blink an eye to have them contribute instead.
