Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

I see so the belt would be made blue but then using a color palette it can easily be swapped back to red in game without effecting the skin tones?

@Bleed: He looks amazing. Can you change the red belt (or whatever its called in english :P) to another colour? maybe blue. This is to not repeat the same mistakes the mk team did, and we can 2 palettes without having problems with the skin colours.

@arq_hawkin: The pants are looking great, now the face needs more work.
About the pants I say you the same: Can you make it with a blue tone? Is easier to change any colour to black later than viceversa ;)

This should be applied to kano and raiden too.

I remade Throne Room (with new psd). Shang follow the match and the aplause is at the end of the match. Just needs some tweaks here and there but it's almost done :)

Since it's too much work replace all the "ninjas" sprites I'll continue with stages and UI.

Yes Cal, exactly.
We need to do something with "black & white" palette characters too.

Right, because since the original character costumes for Kano, Raiden and Liu Kang didn't have any color. Changing the white or black in a palette with another color would look terrible as the white and black lose a lot of highlights/shadows, not enough image definition information to do so.

I also see what you were saying with the red belt turning to blue, because sometimes "white" skin tones have a bit of red or pink pigment in them. So changing the red belt might also give you some blue pixels here or there on Cage's body.

I've encountered these problems before.

Ah that's true about the black and white, maybe I'll have the pants a blue or green for render, and change it to black with the palette in the game.

Maybe I did not understand something, but Cage in a fight to be without sunglasses. And the sprite rendering it strongly delineated eyebrows. As if he uses makeup. Also, in my opinion, he should be younger (cushion contoured face, to make it not so thin). Even in MK2, he looks older than the MK1. Maybe in the MK1 his hair shorter.

Sonya modelo .jpg

Still working on this, and will be for a few days probably.

I changed the skin tone to match his MK2 Bio as close as I could.

All the shaders not Skin, were replaced by the Arch and design materials, which have more options for controlling the look of the surface.

The Sash / Belt has a Luminosity now, because the Arch and design materials have an option for having light pass through objects like cloth and lamp shades.

The character model has a lower polygon count now, but I'm using a displacement map mixed with a normal map.

I put the head UVs and the body UVs in the same sheet, but squashed Horizontally, so I can fit both in the 0 to 1 UV space of the same texture map.

I can just render the texture twice as large to counter the stretching. I think it helps fix the normal map seams on the neck, and it's easier to work with half as many textures for the body.

You can still see the seam a little, but I think it's due to the size difference of the UV shells.

The cloth has a fabric texture you can see up close, the arm guards have leather details.

I added a bit of detail to the knees, so you can see the bones.

I know it seems too yellow, but here's what I was looking at.

In MK 1 - 2 there are like four general skin tones to choose from.

Realmente as texturas do seu modelo e do Johnny Cage real, até que estão bem parecidas.
Acho que você acertou nas cores, ficou muito bom.

Bleed, you're making MK1 model, in MK1 Kage wasn't yellow.
Also I still can't notice detailed textures..

Cris Berserk, it's ENGLISH board, don't break rules.
