hello again, I fixed the skin texture and material, i think it looks muuuuuch better now, I really like it, hope you like it too

J.S. test was really fantastic, captured the mood of fighting game of firs MK1, which is the suspense and tension. fight in the Courtyard with the new music fit perfectly and the closing of the struggle with the new sound of "fatality" was very good! 'm really looking forward to the next test and with new songs every area of struggle. congratulations!
 
You'll see the player's head, not the skull.
So you want to make it more like mk9?

@Justin, to me your throne room music is a new version that can take a part in this game even though it's not sounds 100% like the original theme but it has the feeling of MK and is so much better than the original.well done.

test vid is also amazing, can't wait to see some more.

@arq_hawkin, liu looks good but still needs more work not only on his face likeness and head size but also his pants IMO.

I love the sounds you are using on the Throne Room. It is way too different sounding from the original for me to love it though. Just my opinion ,maybe everyone else will prefer this version. I'd like you to stick to original melody as much as possible. You nailed the instruments and that drum beat is fantastic. Incredible actually. It just makes me want to hear it sounding more like original since I think your version would easily be better.


And here's the first pass on the Throne Room theme. Again, I'm not sure how much I like it, but I'd like to know how everyone feels about the direction it has taken.

Thanks guys. Yeah the piece does deviate a lot from the original. I was trying to find a good way to extend the track, but I think I'll make an edit that is closer to the original arrangement. If I recall correctly, the original loops right at 45 seconds, so I think I'll do the loop as well, but make the second a little different, instead of having that drum breakdown that was in the last version. Otherwise that would be a pretty short track.

And I'll post up another fight vid. Glad you guys liked it! Any particular stage preference?

Yeah, I can't wait to see Liu Kang in the perspective the game takes rather than the generic arms spread eagle 3D program pose. :) He's looking good enough to put into a pro-made game already though! Except for perhaps the cloth folds or seam around the crotch.. there seems to be a lack of them right now.

BTW, I'm disliking the way the screen was treated in the MKAK with its windowboxing & squashing making the characters look smaller and taller\skinnier than they should be. :P I've come to prefer the way it looks at the PAR or the way Bleed does it with his game. At the arcade the characters always looked nice and big due to a combo of screen size, aspect etc. which is tricky to pull off on home screens.. but I think the way it's been done here does more justice to it than MKAK's way.

I modeled a neck stump for this today, textured and rigged it. I'm tweaking the animation now, fixing clipping errors with the fingers around the neck.

The Hand will be holding the head by the neck the entire time, it snapping from one pose to the next is a mistake I'm not looking to replicate, same as Scorpion's Fatality.

Not sure who to direct the question to but when the body falls to the ground will it be clean like the original or will you guys have a little bit of blood pooling?
 
bleed, there is a animation in one of the mkp games that has a pool of blood that gradually gets bigger as is someone is oozing blood, i am sure you can find it easily... it looked good enough to be used as a hd animation with it's reflectiveness.

same goes with the head rip, i would have a small steady drip comming off the bottom of the spine, and animations of blood streams comming down the spine feeding the drips off the spine.

the pool animation i would use for the body once it is fallen, to make it seem as if the blood is comming out of the fallen body.

but if fatalityed !! characters have more Mobilities during doing fatality, it looks much better and more believable.
plz look at this DEATH CARGO fatality (named:Deathrip) again and note the Jaw of Skeleton during fatality.

for example in your case his eyes can turn white after fatality or some Viscera can extracted with the backbone.
i think details like this can improve believability of the game.

Exactly what CARZ said.. we dont need to add details right now. We can go back and add these small details later. It looks incredible as is and I wouldnt change anything.Forget the pool of Blood for now. It will be just like the original arcade for now.

Besides we need Bleeds focus on the victim dropping to his knees now.

As for me Blood is almost done. Will need to be coded properly though. Problem is my computer is in for repair so I cant finish it yet. I will try at work today though.
