Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Everything is looking good here. I second the idea to see Liu Kang in a few different poses other than the spread arms modeling pose. Maybe animate his fighting stance. He looks good enough as is to start making his animations. It would be great to see him in action in some videos like we've been seeing the ninjas.

Oh, and speaking of MK9, does anybody else dislike the announcer voice in MK9. MK1 through 3 voices were my favorite.

you'll see him moving soon, I started rigging yesterday but i'm kind of slow cause I just got my first baby and I'm trying to spend some time with him, also I have so much work to do, so I just can spend an hour or so every night to work on liu kang, I really wish to spend more time cause I think about this project every time... and thanks for the support ttas.. I don't know so much about animation but I'll try to do it as good as the ninjas or as close as possible
 
Congratulations on your first baby ark_hawkin, I had my first baby 2 months ago and it's really time-demanding, specially considering we are on holidays, it is remarkable to see some progress from you given the circumstances...!

That might be because you have 3 loves in your life? (wife, baby and MK perhaps?)

Eitherway, your sculpting skills are above excellent, that Liu Kang really looks human-like, nothing like the cartonish versions of official Liu Kang on any 3D MK game. I just wish we could see MORE :P I mean, close ups of the face, and something like a kung fu stance poster would be a fine christmas gift so we all can ignore our family and start screaming "Mortal Kooombaaat...!!!"

My son's name is "Tobias Scorpion Lotus Chi", what's yours? :D

ok my computer is repaired and the blood sprites are complete. Bleed, Interloko you can find them zipped up in the root folder. Enjoy!
 
Hi all in the thread and the forum!! I've been following your work since the beginning and this project is the reason why I became a member. I love the original Mortal Kombat as it's my favourite game from all and I just passed by to say thanks to all who are working hard to make this HD project a reality, you're all great!! Great, thanks for the update.

I'm rendering the fatality today in different passes, so different palettes can be used on it. I'll probably work on the victim's animation tonight.

Sub Zero

Enemy Head

All separate with their own palette.

Anybody know if you can use Geometry as a mask, that will automatically erase part of the render?

Right now, what I'm doing is rendering Sub Zero in a solid color, like a green screen. I need to use that as a selection, to cut the body out of the head sprites. It would be nice if Max would use an object as a mask and just cut that part of the render out on it's own. I was looking on the web, but haven't found a way to do it.
 
You could use the Matte/Shadow material to the head, render, and then use the same material just for the body, and render again.
 
I love the intro for the Gates. Man I wish I had the talent to create music like this, so awesome.

Nice work on Palace Gates! I'm happy with that 100%, sounds great:) I feel like the Throne Room needs work. Did you remove the driving drum beat the first version had? This version sounds much softer?
