If you're talking about Shujinko going through decades, just by entering a pool, then that has nothing to do with entire realm. It is literally just a nonsense they made up with Kotal Kahn being a bodyguard.

This isn't the first time they are contradicting themselves on a spot.

So yeah. Nothing surprising that they messed up with Kotal Kahn's background. They simply don't give a shit.

It's not actually the pool, even though yes, this makes a difference on his appearance.

Actually, I was mentioning the fact Raiden encounters a middle aged Shujinko and tells him about the Deadly Alliance. He invites Shujinko to battle them, but the latter has stuff to do, so Raiden leaves to battle Quan Chi and Shang Tsung with Frost, Jax, Cage, etc.

Meanwhile, Hotaru puts Shujinko in prison, where he spends DECADES (referred as "an untold years", but Shujinko then refers to it as "after all these long years", even though it doesn't seemed to be decades judging by Dairou's comment) and he gets out very old. When he reunites the Kamidogu and meets Onaga at the Nexus, that's the end of Deadly Alliance, as Raiden fights the two sorcerers at that exact moment.

So either Deadly Alliance took a long time between Raiden abdicating from Elder God status and reuniting warriors and fighting Tsung and Chi, or time flows differently between the realms. Or, Shujinko keeps getting old because of the pool, that could make sense and explain his sudden aging, however, he did stood imprisoned for "long years"

Still, I think the comics messed up on that matter.

About Cryomancers, however, it is stated Sindel banished them from Edenia, and they were natural from there (MK11). My guess is that they settled in Outworld, so if they lived there and had descendants there, they were Outworlders. I mean, Sub-Zero is an Earthrealmer, even though his ancestors are Outworlders, he isn't consider a foreign because he descends from another dimension, and by the same logic, his ancestors are indeed Outworlders, regardless of where the oldest generations were born. Seems conflicting, but can easily be arranged.

Besides, Outworld is basically the union of several other small realms and races, it almost sounds like my country. We have natives, lots of africans, portuguese, dutchs, lots of italians, asians, germans, poles, etc. mixed and in the end we are brazilians. But if we pick up, let's say, an italian, maybe during the time the person got here in the XVI century he came from Firenze, but if we go to the ancestor of this person by 400 A.D., it's very likely to be someone from northern Europe, nowhere near the ethnicity of the italic peninsula, but migration does this.

That's how I see the flow of migration of cryomancers.

The fact that Skarlet said that his blood is that of OUTWORLD, debunks the entire theory (Not to mention Skarlet values Edenian blood greatly. She would definitely sense it). Not to mention if SubZero ancestors were to come from Edenia, then he would inherit their long lifespan. Yet, he ages at the same rate as everyone on Earth. He is in his 50s now, and it shows. Edenian people live for tens of thousands of years. And no. Even if there was mixing with other races for few generations, that wouldn't change a thing. Not that drastically, at least.

Like I said. NRS doesn't care about consistency. They just throw random ideas and look at what will stick. If they easily managed to make Sindel into a backstabbing whore, that FOR SOME REASON sacrificed her own life to protect Earthrealm IN THE SAME TIMELINE, then of course they can just write that SUDDENLY Cryomancers come from Earthrealm.

Or that Raiden and Fujin are brothers. They are just that creatively bankrupt and can't make anything original, so they just use cliches to "gather interest".

His blood IS from Outworld as my blood IS from Brazil despite the fact I can go to Italy and say "hey, my ancestor from couple generations ago came to my country, so, can I be from your country too?".

His people originated from Edenia and migrated, they settled some time after in Outworld and there they made generations to come, very likely by sharing DNA with "Outworlders". Besides, once again, Outworld is basically made of several different people: why couldn't the Cryomancers come from another realm? Tarkatans, Kytinns, Edenians, Zaterrans, Osh-Tekk, Vampires, Naknadas, etc. all came and reside in Outworld.

If Baraka impregnates Mileena, who has Edenian blood, would we consider the child, born into Outworld, foreign to the realm? And if Baraka or anyone else impregnates a female from the "Outworlder" bunch, would the child be consider foreign because Baraka is of foreigner origin? Of course not! That's the same logic with the first Edenian Cryomancers that arrived in Outworld.

Also, the long lifespan is not an argument in favor. Outworlders are also known for living for centuries, even if they are from different realms. Take Reiko, he was general to Shinnok's army during the War on Heaven, a battle that happened eons before humankind, if we consider MK4, MK:D, MK:A and MKX sources. If passing on the long lifespan was a thing, wouldn't it be strange that Sub-Zero can only live a few human years?

I think you have reasons to hate some changes, but some can clearly be logically constructed, that shouldn't cloud your judgement.

This is very far from evidence atm. She has a move referencing an Edenian Goddess and her mother was hated by the Queen, to say this is evidence of her being a goddess is a stretched head canon. If you scroll down, when someone quotes that Jade is daughter of Jobashel, the OP responds with "Joshabel and Delia had an affair" when there's absolutely no source for this.

The fact that you have to dig this deep to justify this nonsense, just shows how shit the writing is.

I was born in one country, yet both of my parents come from a different one. That doesn't make me the GENETIC native of the country in which I was born. Even if Cryomancers mixed with anyone, then there is a term called MIXED HERITAGE. If Japanese and American had a child, that child would inherit both sides. And what's even worse. Edenians and Outworld citizens are two DIFFERENT SPECIES. They are literally a DIMENSION apart. So if you mix two different species Edenian blood doesn't suddenly turn into Outworld one. It just means that he is MIXED.

So in a the worst case scenario. He has a mixed heritage of Edenia and Outworld. His Edenia heritage doesn't disappear anywhere. That's not how ancestry works. You can use my blood to track my ancestry as well. BY GENERATIONS. I have blood from different areas as well. Hell, I have blood from a nation that doesn't exist anymore. But that blood didn't disappear anywhere. So Skarlet who can SENSE that shit and read someone's blood, would immediately tell if he is mixed or not. If she says that he DESCENDED from Outworld, that means he is FROM OUTWORLD. If he was born in Outworld, but his people ORIGINATED FROM A DIFFERENT DIMENSION CALLED EDENIA, then Skarlet would say: "You have the blood of Edenia and Outworld running in your veins." NOW that would be logical. But again. They hire people based on their skin color and on what they identify. Not for their knowledge, so no surprise they write stupid like this. This is High School education. But again. It is US... Their High Schools aren't known for high level.

Yeah. Welcome to "we make shit up on the go and don't bother dwelling deeper into the story we write." That's exactly my problem. They add shit, but don't pay attention to any of the details. Cause long lifespan is one of the things that YOU WOULD DEFINITELY inherit. That's basic Biology. And hey, NRS devs said themselves "we want to add some realism." Well they f$cking failed at it. I guess the most they know about Biology is how organs look like, but have no idea how they work.

You have to grab at straws to defend shit writing. Hell most of the stuff is purely ASSUMPTIONS. The stuff that was written can change by the next game.

Also this is the last time I am talking about MK11 "story".

I just saw the leaks and... yeah. There is no reason for me to debate anymore. They clearly don't give a shit about story and if they don't care about what they write... I don't care either. I have seen MK Porn Fan Fics written better.

The fact that I have to write the story for WRITERS, so it would MAKE SENSE for me just tells me enough. I remember when I had to dig into the game and look for clues, to understand the story and then discuss that with people. On what we found and what it means.

Now it is. "If I will logically construct the shit I just read, it will make sense!" Oh f#ck off with that. In a game which is retconing character backstories in the same trilogy, has an useless comic that doesn't even tie in properly and where Ed Boon literally admitted in the last interview, that they make shit on the go, I am supposed to believe that there is ONE PART of the story that is "logically constructed"? Sure.

After reading Aftermath story yesterday. Let me tell you something. MK Lore is a f%cking joke. MK games are a joke. I wasted almost a decade just for MKX/MK11. F$ck NRS and f%ck MK11. They can make everyone trans and gay for all I care. I am f$cking done with NRS games. Every time I read anything from them, it just ruins my childhood memories.
 
In the PS Store there are separate slots for each of the new characters as well as the story expansion only. I wonder when it will be available for purchase though.
 
The 4chan leak was full of shit.
Pros:
Kotal getting pummeled, again and again.
Kotal getting...well, you'll see.
A lot of characters getting the pummeling they deserved.
Shao Kahn actually being a badass.
Raiden and Fujin being bros.
Shang Tsung.

Cons:
Sindel
One character who shouldn't be pummeled gets pummeled.
Ending's shit.

Overall, much better than MK11 main story, but still with flaws.

I really liked that they finally made Shao Kahn into something other than a poor man's Donald Trump. What he did to Kotal Kuck had such a massive grin on my face. However it also opened a can of worms...How the HELL did Kitana and Liu Kang beat him, when he easily dumped on both of them now?

Sindel... So it's now 100% canon that she's a golddigging whore. Point of no return. And of course they still have to push this (white) PRIVILEGE nonsense. It's like she couldn't shut up about it.

Sheeva... Remember that stupid SJW bio? Well, it wasn't ever mentioned or even hinted at. There were also generic female Shokans. And the icing on top? She seems to be pretty racist against Tarkatans. So much for "equality" you idiots :rofl:

Kitana deserved all the beating and then some. The way revenant Kitana and Jade went out was just great. They both deserve each other.

Cetrion. "Only Sindel can hurt you!" yet Fujin and Shang Tsung had no problems either.

Shang Tsung pretty much stole the show. It's kinda dumb that Fire God Liu Kang could take him out, when he absored so many souls and had the crown.

The endings were both garbage. Trained for...what? And a generic Shang Tsung Evil Doer ending. 0 effort went into those endings.

Could probably think of more but it's definitely a vast improvement from the GARBAGE that was MK11 main story. Definitely not perfect. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. This sort of story mode should've been their base.

Well, the first part for me was fcking brilliant. The chemistry between Fujin, Shang Tsung and Nightwolf was glorious, and they made their alliance pretty great, they fought pretty well together and there were several good scenes, some even better than the original.

Cary Tagawa was INCREDIBLE. Surpassing his role even from the movie. Extremely entertaining, top tier voice acting, and his fights were very carefully crafted. Besides, he made a role very fitting to the entire idea of the character, couldn't be more perfect.

The idea about making an interference on an already messed up timeline was fun. The environments were well designed, it was amazing to see some detailed landscapes from other angles.

About references, agree so much with dodheimsgard, specially...

Fujin and Shang Tsung together against Geras, and Nightwolf joining, paying obvious homage to Deception, much like MKX paid to Armageddon with Shinnok's first appearance;
I'm so happy for the exchange between Bi-Han and Fujin, making solid the events of Mythologies as MK9 had established, even though this time it was designed slightly different (MKX);


Sheeva had a pretty nice participation, but she was waaaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay lesser than a protagonist as Boon said she would be.

I think the second half was a little underwhelming, predictable and set a much more dubious path than before. About one thing I didn't like, but was useful, but then went bad is...

Sindel's arc. Ok, I get, design of this timeline is that she was a . Did I like? No. I had hopes they "fixed" this before Aftermath's release, but they went on with it and now I know why they were so scared of the repercussion of the decision.

I must confess, however, that Sindel's arc actually opened a new branch into the story, gave a lot of power back to Shao Kahn and eventually twisted Aftermath from being the same as the OG story. But then,it became distracting of the main plot, and it was obvious Sindel and Shao Kahn would be back stabbed.

So her very controversial and even inconsistent design was pretty much like for nothing.


Another opportunity missed is that...

Liu Kang's feud with Raiden was treated as the latter understood what happened, but Shang Tsung interrupted, and I thought his evil smile was that indicated he was planning Kang and Raiden against each other. Without that revelation scene, it seemed Raiden was suffering of stress and then was like "you know what? I'm just really tired. I need a coffee and we need to go".

Also, they made sure to show Cetrion was being corrupted by Kronika, but once again she was a jobber and an idiot.


I firmly disagree Aftermath's ending is better than MK11. As I said, the beginning was brilliant, but MK11's original second half was much more enjoyable. Overall I prefer the original game, even though I loved the interference. When it comes to Aftermath's ending tho...

There isn't a single person here that was oblivious to Shang Tsung's betrayal.

However, the entire story was sucked to the black hole of his plot, and I think his killing of everybody was like "ok, I wanna see what we're gonna do if he wins, but also if he loses, since it was obvious the choice was going to be made.

While Aftermath made dubious the idea that the bad ending can't be the canon, the bad ending for this game is unbelievable. I mean, again, while we can't rule out bad endings, it really didn't seem like an ending we could continue, differently from the "bad" (and canon) from the vanilla.

is that, as a Raiden fan, Liu Kang appeared as God of THUNDER and fire. It's kinda obvious that, while Raiden has given Kang his immortality, another version of him will be created. He even states that on the (non canon) "good" ending in his farewell.

How can there be no Raiden? I mean, GOD Raiden. Is he a farmer now? Also, what Liu Kang will prepare Kung Lao? If that's a universe without Shinnok...what could it be? His smile in the end was pretty much saying "Mortal Kombat", but that raises the question of who or how. What of the Elder Gods? A lot of "what"s.

I always thought Liu Kang arcade ending was the best.


So I think Aftermath ending wasn't that good. Well, maybe MK12 answers this.

The supposed leaker was wrong about Scorpion, but pretty much said some abstract things that happened. If Rambo appears, I wonder about the rest.

Overall, I praise the idea of a second story mode. I hope they repeat that next game and I wish they did that for MK11 yet. Specially by adding characters to the story, not randomly.
