I asked because I've seen plenty of people online going the "If_________ isn't in I'm not buying" or "If ________ isn't in we riot" and I never understood the whole skipping out a game for 1 character.
I'm happy for you that you got Johnny Cage, but I also found 2 new mains in Ronin Takeda and Shotgun Jacqui to replace Nightwolf and Rain. No big deal.
I play MK for MK and I always will, but if feels like they're just playing it too safe with the roster.
I'd love to be proven wrong, but their only characters that aren't "safe" characters are Geras and Cassie (so far).
 
If it's a sequel, it's almost always going to be about giving more of the usual, with some improvements. This especially true with the bigger and flashier titles.

Dude didn't you used to have a GI JOE avitar about four years ago?I could be wrong but regardless i could imagine having to go through the characters to find someone i related with and was just my type of character to play with.I hope you get your 2 back this time.

Yeah, I had a Cobra Commander avatar. I didn't mind going through the characters, as I did the same with MK9.
I started off with Sub-Zero in MK9, but then gravitated towards Nightwolf and Rain.
With MKX I started off trying all of the characters and felt at home with Ronin Takeda and Shotgun Jacqui after a while.
Ferra / Torr's Lackey variation was also one that I dabbled a lot with.
So far Geras and Skarlet have my attention, maybe even Cassie depending on how they improved her from MKX.
My hope is that Fujin also makes it this time, even if just as DLC.
A DLC Fujin would be better than no Fujin, imo.
 
I say finding a main is part of the fun. Noob's one of my favorite characters, and I'm hoping he's in MK11. if he's not, no big deal. I've played MK games without him before.
I found myself using Sub-Zero in MKX, despite other favorites of mine being in (Kung Lao, Kitana, the cyber ninjas via DLC, etc). It really just depends on what play style is fun for you.
Scorpion so far looks great to me, I haven't said that in years. But I'm also really liking Geras. I can't wait to try out all the characters.
 
I'm tired of this "parent/descendant" bull crap already. Aside from Cassie I dont want to see no kids/offspring/apprentices or whatever the . That's just an excuse to recycle moves/animations and shit. Since we have Kano I dont want to see his son. If Jacqui is in I better not see archetypal black guy Jax. Damn sure dont want to Jonny Cage.
 
If they are making a timefold with the trilogy, I wonder if they are going directly into the original or MK9.

Because MK9 is already undergoing Raiden's changes.

Unless Kronika had something to do with Raiden's mind travel and was ok until he cut Shinnok's head. I mean, he never had that power. It was a message through his amulet. All blue energy, who knows if Kronika gave him that in a time when, who knows, they were not enemies.

But even if this is some sort of "MK Trilogy II" might not be a bad idea, I still wish some 3D characters could have some love in the main roster and specially in the story. This could be the ultimate chance. They are totally going back in time and confronting alter egos.

I'm still suspicious about what's going on with Kronika. IMO, if she's the ultimate boss, I wish it was *at the least in the story* some sort of Armageddon - because the roster is a dream. I want so badly to know more about the plot lol
 
It seems like they went for the Highlander route with the idea of immortals like Elder Gods can only be killed if you remove their head.
 
All I know is if Kano ever has a kid he should either have kidnapped him as a baby and raised him as his own, no "Kano found love" stuff lol
 
I'm extremely interested to see why Kronika had intended history to place Shinnok as the victor, like what is her motivation for it? Is it because she felt his victory would put the end of the realms outcome back on track, or perhaps some other out of left field motivation?

I wouldn't say she wanted Shinnok as the victor, I think she was ok with him losing, the problem (apparently) was when Raiden cut his head off, so he was in fact out of game, and if he is the so called "Father of All Evil", who else stands in the way of the Thunder God to go against his crusade of vanishing evil?

Without Shinnok, the Light side of the balance basically dominates. Lesse evils would surely be purged by Raiden, not only mad as *&¨$%, but as powerful as he was, no moral code and with the Amulet. So she stopped being Thanos in a chair and said "that's enough! This is not how it should be!".

I have the impression she wanted Shinnok making his schemes. Had he won, he would have awaken the One Being. Unless she wanted him to do so.
 
All the Shaggy comments are really annoying me in Youtube are really making me shake my head a little too much. Please out of all the characters, can we not have that character? I'd actually have Alita: Battle Angel over him any day and I don't even know who she is except in commercials and in Dua Lipa's music video. I do know she can fight A LOT BETTER THAN SHAGGY.


Other guest character suggestions I have...

1. Iori Yagami (King of Fighters): He should have Mature and Vice assist him during attacks and finishers. He should also have the Riot of Blood activated somehow. He would be a much better alternative than Shaggy (since both do look somewhat alike). Shermie, Rugal, and Mai Shiranui would be excellent characters to be as guest characters from the Tekken series too.

2. Kazuya Mishima (Tekken): Initially I wanted Kazumi Mishima or Jun Kazama/Unknown but I'd rather have a more popular character in the Tekken series and one who is confirmed to be alive. I'd like Anna Williams and Nina Williams to assist him during attacks and finishers. Jin Kazama would be a good character to have as a guest character from this series too.

3. Ryu Hayabusa (Dead or Alive/Ninja Gaiden): Ayane and Kasumi can assist during his attacks and finishers.

Concerning guests I think it is safe to assume Myers and Pennywise being the horror fighters this time. Pennywise would be something between Scarecrow (fears) and Joker (visually) with gore. I think it is one of the best options. I do not really like guests but since it is going to happen these two horror characters would be nice and fitting. Spawn is my favorite though.

Just ignore all the shaggy bullshit it's not ever going to happen, no matter what anyone says about it to even try and convince you.. it's just not going to happen. The very most there will be some comment that's a reference to him in the krypt that less than 50% of people even understand by then. I just ignore all the guest character bullshit, if you ignore it then there's less talk about it, you gotta spin that shit anyway when it comes up. I'm not interested in guests, never have been and never will be. I just make sure I downvote every filthy casual on the sub reddit that makes any comment regarding shaggy, meme or otherwise they can right off.

It's unfortunately something we are just going to have to deal with, they made a dangerous precedent with adding a guest in MK9 and went overboard in MKX. Whatever guest/s they have for MK11 I ain't buying that shit.
And quite frankly if the rest of the kombat kids aren't in the game and they come out with a kombat pack with the rest of kombat kids I ain't buying that shit either. I don't care what moves they have or how sick the fatalities are, they are dog shit to me.


Interesting theories on this page regarding Kronika.
As far as Kronika's intentions go what's the general consensus here regarding her motivations?
Does she want balance for the realms?
Shinnok winning wouldn't have meant balance for the realms, if the problem is simply Raiden going on a crusade wouldn't she just confront him? Perhaps she is restricted in certain ways too by the elder gods or some other set of rules?
Will it just be her and the big G oe will there be others?
Thoughts?
 
I think it wasn’t a good idea to introduce this whole „passing the torch“ stuff with MKX, since it doesn’t happen. With MK11 going back to the roots again, it wasn’t necessary to introduce Kombat kids after all. Passing the torch would have been not using the parent characters which is not the case.

For me, introducing children of popular characters has always been a lazy way of writing. If NRS had wanted to start a new generation, they should have jumped forward, skipping 100 or more years. Human characters and their offsprings wouldn’t exist. They could have been more creative with new Earthrealm warriors. Immortal or undead characters like Shinnok, Raiden, Scorpion or Noob Saibot could still be around. If they won’t do it this way, MK games will always take place during this certain phase all around MK1-MK4 with Jax, Sonya, Johnny etc.

Exactly. That's why it felt pretty strange when they said "It is passing the Torch". No it ain't. Even Johnny Cage ending, just cemented that one fact. These characters are what makes MK, they are eternal. Even in overall story, kid characters felt like side characters and Cassie's Cage victory felt so... cheap.

The new breakthrough from Ketchup and Mustard on Raiden made me really interested in trying him out. He really feels like a true thunder god. All of the characters seem interesting. However, i am not feeling Skarlet i don't loke this style of play

Ed would never confirmed a character on Twitter. However, I do think Robocop has a strong chance being in MK11 if they add the Terminator.
