Perhaps I was thinking of Rain, then.

Either way, Smoke has a character design in MKX, and Baraka and Rain have character designs with their MK9 moves copy-pasted.
Maybe MKX Smoke can also be an NPC character too, with his MK9 moves copy-pasted for an MKII Tower, just like Baraka and Rain.
 
Don't expect any new NPCs in the premiere tower. MK1 tower was the best opportunity to make the premiere tower something special but...

I think it's more likely that for something as one-off as a living tower they'll just do a secret fight with Mournful Kitana.

Agreed, but Baraka has a model in MKX story mode already, with a basic variation-less move set.
How hard would it be for NRS to put him in and have the other MKII characters, minus Shang Tsung?

Speaking of Oldschool MK Towers, what the hell will they do for the MK3 Tower?
Trilogy roster?
The only characters from MK3 in MKX are Sub-Zero, Kano, Jax, Liu Kang, Sonya and Kung Lao.
From UMK3 you can add Ermac.
Shang Tsung, Smoke, Sektor, Stryker, Nightwolf, Kabal and Sindel are dead, and both Sheeva and Cyrax are nowhere to be found.

Basically.
I would've been happy if they at least gave the secret fight a klassic costume, but no.
Was hoping maybe Shang Tsung was the top, but nope.
No points.
 
Would be easier to take MK9 Shang and do the same they did to Sindel and Baraka.

Leave Shinnok being himself :whine: HE IS HAVING HIS MOMENT!

lol I feel your pain. I did the tower (poorly) but had no chance of getting a flawless vs. Cage. I get so frustrated doing these things that I've decided I'm not going to try grinding for specific rewards, but just hope they come naturally as I play. I'm sure I'll be able to find another secret fight eventually, and get the trophy for it.

Just be patient and enjoy the game. :)
 
I got a flawless on Cage and a few others before him my first run through. Reptile was a little tough but I managed to beat him.
 
For MK2 the only big fat question mark is Shao Kahn. Sure they can give Goro a Kintaro skin, but then you need some MK3 boss anyway.

For MK3 i can see Nightwolf and Stryker being done like Tanya - standard moves from one character, stance from another, specials from different guys. I can also see them pretend UMK3 is true MK3, so the tower will have Scorpion, Reptile, Kitana, Mileena & Ermac in it. I can leave without Motaro but MK3 without robots is not MK3...this is just another reason why Cyrax or Sektor should be in over Jax or Sonya, not exactly the best roster planning.
 
I did the tower on Monday, but did not have the Reptile fight. I might do it again, on Very Easy, just to be sure that I will fight Reptile on the first try.

I guarantee none of that will happen.
If they couldn't make Shang Tsung an NPC, they won't make Shao Kahn or Kintaro.
The MK1 boss was Goro on this case, you really think they'd add Shao Kahn or Kintaro when they can't add a Shang Tsung model?
 
Do you get anything for beating Reptile? I got the secret fight achievement but I lost the fight to him. Wondering if I need to actually beat him for anything.
 
I think you guys are still expecting way too much out of these premiere towers. They're perfectly fine, and a fun little 10 minute nostalgia trip, and they're not meant to be anything more than that. NRS is hard at work making the DLC content for this game and probably already doing preliminary work on their next. They're not gonna blow any of their remaining budget and put in weeks of work to develop and test a skin that most people will see for less than two minutes just because a small portion of the hardcore crowd wants to see every character in the tower have classic skins. C'mon, be realistic.
 
Lack of Shang Tsung hurts it in my opinion.

They can't even do MK2 as there's no Kintaro and Shao Khan.

I just did it for the Trophy then quit as I hate Test Your Might.

But the Test your Might on this game is SOOO eazy though.

I dare say MK1's test your might challenges were harder than these.
I mean these aint nuthin! Except that titanium MK Dragon. I actually broke that on my first try, but then I decided to do another TYM tower a few days later(maybe after the update) and that dragon became significantly harder!!

Either that, or I tapped into the 'Speed Force' for a quick minute when I originally did it.

Kitana's opening dialogue with Goro says "This must be Kintaro" then Goro replies "Kintaro is a striped commoner" so I doubt a Kintaro skin will be coming.
