The 2 brothers haven't been brought back in MKX yet, though.
As of MK9 Kuai is still dead, and Noob may be either dead OR alive.
We don't know WHO this Sub-Zero is yet.
That's my point.

I'm just entertaining the possibility that BOTH brothers are dead following MK9, and this is a NEW Sub-Zero (aka relative or pupil of the brothers).

I don't really see Noob being dead, since he's already undead. He's probably just back in the Netherrealm. Kuai is there as well, so we might end up getting an undead Kuai sometime in the story, as well as this new Sub-Zero.

If he got saved in the Soulnado by the Elder Gods, he's alive.
If he got torn to shreds in the Soulnado because his soul is tainted and the Elder Gods didn't save him, then he's dead.

Says the guy who wants Frost back in the series. Really!!!

It's okay though. We, Rain fans, are used to this kind of comments where Rain happens to be "one of the lamest characters" "for some reason". Rain has always been original in every single way: unique specials, unique combos and great visual post-UMK3. In MK9 he delivered and gave some people a serious butthurt.

It's cool though, if we all had the same opinions, the world would be boring.
 
I never care for Rain in MKT since he was just another ninja and I'm stick with ninjas. In MKA, I admit that I enjoy his character more since they give him more background story and give him a new design. He was cool in MK9, but I'm not going to cry if he's not coming back.

Is it confirmed? Gamestop Expo has MKX listed among the upcoming games and it is just about a week later. Hopefully NRS will attend both events but we should wait for an official confirmation to avoid disappointment and angry comments from fans.
