MK11's new hero (protagonist)?

They gave a clear rationale for Cassie beating Shinnok, with the green halo power. She still had to put Raiden in the jinsei to finish the job.

She's not much younger than Liu Kang was in MK1. The strenuous objection to her as champion feels sexist to me.

Welcome to America. Where if you speak your opinion you are racist, sexist and homophobic

I like the fact that for once it's not Liu Kang winning the damn tournament.

So it's a bit cheesy that a girl with random green powers who uses more artillery than her magic somewhat defeated a fallen Elder God in his demon form.

Liu Kang managed to not only beat a morphing sorcerer who can steal souls but also a four-armed half dragon half human. Please tell me why Cassie's victory is less like-able than Liu's victory.

Well for starters, Liu Kang trained his whole life to defeat Goro and Shang Tsung.

For the record I dislike Cassie as much as I dislike Liu Kang.

If there was a boxing match going on and the fighters were a mid 20 year old military girl with a green halo that gives her power VS a fallen elder god in a demon form that can shoot fire beams out of his chest and can summon rocks out of the ground, who do you think would win?

If you said the fallen elder god you're sexist. The person to defeat Shinnok should make sense, male or female.

But that doesn't really explain anything. Cassie has trained almost her entire life as well, she had various teachers teaching her just like Liu. What's different? Is it that Liu Kang's opponents seemed more realistic for him to defeat than Cassie's opponents?

That's kind of a dumb reason to go with if it's that. No offense.

Well Shinnok is a god, well not just a god an elder god, that's worse than any sorcerer or half dragon.

However... MK's story never made much sense, so it doesn't really matter.

I don't dislike Cassie as the protagonist because her defeating Shinnok doesn't make "logical" sense, my problem with Cassie is that I don't like her at all, I don't like her moves, I don't like her origins, I don't like her outfit, I don't like anything about her at all but that's just my personal opinion, she's the fourth most played character so apparently a lot of players think otherwise.

Nobody ever had a problem with Liu Kang defeating ancient immortal conqueror Shao Kahn with some high kicks and a fireball.

Bah, I literally had what I wanted to say just vanish from my head.

I'll come back to this topic tomorrow. But I had like a really cool thing I wanted to say and now I can't remember what I wanted to type out.

What about his training in ancient martial arts and many magical shaolin abilities?

Shaolin Monk who trained whis whole life to be the champion of the Earthrrealm who knows martial arts and pyrokinesis sounds more powerful than young adult with military training, green energy and a 9mm.

I don't like any of them but you've got to admit Liu Kang is leaps ahead of Cassie in power and abilities.

She's trained her entire life in various martial arts and combat tactics as well -- her parents are the champions of Earthrealm in this timeline, and were the only survivors of MK3. They clearly impressed the struggle on her young. At approximately 21 she's already done like 4 tours of duty.

Liu Kang was probably what, 25 in MK1? How is his Shaolin pyrokinesis more formidable than her green energy which is specifically stated in MKX to be a trait bred by the gods?

I think people just accept that a male martial artist can be a champion. Cassie's no less formidable.

Difference is, Liu Kang is a trained, martial artist, chosen to be the new champion and defeated a f****** 4 armed shokan who was champion for years and years, and Shao Kahn, a very powerful ruler.

Cassie, who's the daughter of 2 admittedly significant characters, beat A CORRUPTED DEMON WHO ABSORBED THE EARTHS POWER. Come on now. I'm not saying it should've been a guy, I'm just saying Liu Kang didn't "inherit" anything, he was a born fighter.

Be real, Cassie would've never beaten Corrupted Shinnok, ever.

Oh, and Kung Jin helped Cassie put Raiden in the Jinsei, so..

Green energy and pyrokinesis are kind of at the same level, we can agree on that.

Liu kang -trained for years to defeat Shang tsung. Beats Shao Kahn twice and defeats Shinnok.

Cassie Cage- most likely trained by both Johnny and Sonya. her father also defeated Shinnok in the new timeline which is even less believable because he never trained for it yet he still pulled it off (and no one complained) . Both Johnny and Cassie are descendants of the warriors bred for the gods which grants them the green energy.

The way I see it all 3 earned the right to be heroes and all 3 more then qualify to pull off this feat, but that's just me

Realistically Liu Kang would’ve never beaten a four-armed giant with hundreds of years of experience as Mortal Kombat champion – Shaolin training or not.

Liu Kang had beaten multiple people before Liu Kang defeated Shao Kahn, including a guy with four arms who's half dragon, and an old guy who can steal souls. Cassie Cage beat Sindel, Kitana and D'Vorah before beating Demon Shinnok.

Now answer me. Who would win? A military girl with a green halo around her or a fallen elder god in a demon form and can shoot fire beams out of his body and summon rocks out of the ground.

I'm really hoping Jade will be the one to finish off the final boss in Story Mode. I mean Cassie was the one who defeated Shinnok.
