MK11's new hero (protagonist)?

I like Bo' Rai and I would like to see a fat drunken fist master in MK again. At least, he is unique.

Again, I don't know why exactly people assume if Bo' Rai Cho makes a return, he will have fart moves. Making him more serious in terms of gameplay is OBVIOUSLY completely impossible to do, I suppose?

That being said, I don't think he'll ever come back as well.

It's not that he can't be reinvented as a character... It's that most people have already been turned off completely by the name Bo' Rai Cho after what he did to the series back in the 3D era. I really do not think he can be redeemed. They can make him as badass as they want, but people will still remember. lol

Then why was he among the most (ab)used characters online in Deception?

I have no way of knowing if this is true or not. But it doesn't matter. Search around on youtube or other MK fan sites. He ends up on almost every single "worst MK character ever" list. People talk serious sh** about him every chance they get. And rightfully so.

He's the drunken master, he's not meant to be taken so seriously. I don't understand all the hate. If he's so bad, why does he show up in a few MK9 endings? Why is he even around in MKX? Bo Rai Cho is not a terrible character if he fits his role.

How people could forget that he was a top-tier character in terms of gameplay is beyond me.

Because he's still part of the lore. He's barely acknowledged in MK9 and pops up for a brief cameo in MKX to give Raiden someone to vent to. The reason being - The general response to him is very negative. NRS knows this. And if you can't understand the hate, you must not have been paying attention. lol They took a giant sh** all over the series by introducing that character.

MK has always had a sense of humor, but Bo' Rai Cho represented some childish middle school format of "humor".

Well considering I hated both the character and the games he was a part of... It's completely understandable as to why I wouldn't remember.

Spamming f+3 -> throw in the weapon stance was a common occurrence online in Deception (I know, I was there. I even got rage quit on for doing that shit to someone who mained Dairou, who ironically was also associated with spam tactics).

Bo Rai' Cho's toilet humor is all just one basic drunken master stereotype.

Mortal Kombat thrives on stereotypes. Maybe they go all out to an extreme with some of them, but nonetheless, majority of this game are all stereotypical Chinese/Japanese stuff, with a little Americanized stuff as well.

It's true that the drunken master style is supposed to be humorous, but it was never about farting or vomiting being used in the fight. There was occasional vomit to make a joke on how intoxicated the fighter was, either before or after the fight. But the actual fighting is about the fluid and unpredictable moves of drunken fist, and the resistance to pain and fear. Not people slipping on vomit and farting in each others faces, which is just a gross out gag of little merit.
Give me a guy who fights like this or this instead of someone who wins by barfing in Kano's boots or farting in Raiden's face.

It's not that people are too serious to enjoy a wacky fighting style, Johnny Cage is a funny guy and he has lots of fans and huge plot presence. It's simply that Bo Rai'Cho wasn't funny in the least for a lot of people. Farts and vomit, haha, now what.

I'm sure if they were to ever bring back Bo Rai' Cho, they would just make him a drunken fighter instead of using any bodily fluids as a way to fight. Since people want a more "serious" Mortal Kombat game, I assume Netherrealm is going to give their fans what they want since they've been doing it for quite some time with this game as of late.

It's not so much that people want a more "serious" game. It's just that Bo' Rai Cho wasn't funny. It was offensive to the series and fan base. *shrug*
