MK movie update/MK Legacy discussion

Thanks for those videos. Casper is stuck in johnny cage mode, which is good, he seems to enjoy the character and im sure he will do a really good job in the series, I get the feeling he will stand out in legacy 2. The rest of the cast looks amazing too, im really excited i cant wait.

im just a little worried theyre using the awesome story lines for liu kang, subzero, the tournament etc etc for the web series, when they get to the movie theyre going to make up some stupid twist or new character because they used their big guns for the web, even though legacy is awesome, with the webseries low budget the director is limited to his real vision.

it sucks how he couldn't make more effects on season 1 because of budget, or more fights because of time, or goro in legacy 2 because of budgets, im tired of that, I want a MK with no limits and that will only happen on the big screen

Anyone remembers mk 1 at the theater? People screaming or applauding at the fights and fatalities, i cant do that in front of my pc or my phone, thats part of a movie experience.

I can only assume theyre doing the series to keep people hooked until mk10 gets announced, maybe mk10 gets announced with the series, or maybe the movie gets a release date around mk10 release window? well, whatever the case might be I really hope they leave something good in store for the movie

There's been a lot of chatter about this, but basically it's not confirmed. Pretty much until there's an official announcement from NRS or Boon himself, it's not confirmed.

Good stuff. Good stuff!!!

In the movie, I'd love to see a love triangle between Liu Kang, Kitana, and Jade. Like in Annihilation, Jade seduces Liu Kang by Kahn's orders but that should be after Liu Kabg and Kitana start to love each other. Then, Jade turns good later and betrays the Forces of Darkness in the movie since her loyalty to her beat friend Kitana is most important to her and apologizes to the princess. All 3 will working together with the Forces of Light to defeat Kahn and the Forces of Darkness. That would definitely be awesome. I REALLY WANT TO SEE JADE DO ANOTHER SEDUCTION SCENE THAT WOULD REMIND ME OF APHRODITE IN GREEK MYTHOLOGY.

I don't think Lui Kang is best choice for love triangle unless its between Lui Kang, Kitana and rain. I would say rain, Kitana and Tanya is love triangle i personally wanna see. Or sub-zero, frost and sareena.

Yeah, I like Tanya, Kitana, and Rain.

Honestly, I wish they'd go with the 2010 teaser trailer with black Baraka and cannibal Reptile. That was an incredible spin on the series, one that actually made a bit of sense. How MK would translate in the real world is really interesting.

As a lifelong fan of the series, I do not care about the series' roots anymore. After seeing it portrayed in the original games, the first movie, Shaolin Monks and MK9, I don't want to see the shit again in another movie. I want originality. Legacy sucked major dick, it tried to combine the fantasy with reality and all it did was just offend my suspension of disbelief.

You cannot make the MK ninjas in live action look good. You just cannot do it without making them look like Power Rangers.

Yeah. I don't think Liu Kang would want Lui Kang to hit on his girl anyways.

I just really hope that the movie isn't ANYTHING like Rebirth.
That shit was just god-awful.
Baraka as a doctor who went mad?
Reptile as some cannibal guy with a disease?

What's next?
Sub-Zero as a refrigerator repairman?
Raiden as an electrician?
Shang Tsung has multiple-personality disorder?
No thanks.

Legacy was decent, but there was still some stuff that was too real-world.
The exception for me was the Sub-Zero / Scorpion and Raiden episodes.
The Sub-Zero / Scorpion and Raiden episodes were fine, because it had that fantasy element that MK is known for.

I think that the whole dark and gritty fad is the worst thing to happen to comic book movies, and just movies in general.
The dark-n-gritty, realistic take isn't right for EVERY character / movie.
Batman? Yes.
Superman? No.
Silent Hill 1? Yes.
Mortal Kombat? No

I go to see a fantasy movie to be pulled into that fantasy universe, not a realistic world that I already live in.
I like to see fantasy films that are more unrealistic and have unrealistic characters.
There's reason that it was a fantasy story, to begin with.

I just wanna see the damned episodes already, the delay has been long enough and with all this extensive post production going on, it better blow Season One out of the water.

I enjoyed Season One a lot, but you can tell the fight scenes were fake as hell, none of the actors, except for the real martial artists like Michael Jai White, could sell the fights as coming off as real. As well as the shitty camera angles that show the punches flying right past the person's face and crappy visual effects, this series can be perfect if they fix those issues.

MK Rebirth was going to be the only way I was going to get excited about an MK movie. I love the real world elements and the guy who came up with the idea deserves mad props for the creativity.

But MK fans are children. Don't ever change the way my toy looks. And children love to see this

Dark and Gritty as well as realism is great, I love it IMO when it comes to movie adaptations of fictional franchises, but at least keep to the subject matter of the franchise instead of going off an a whole different direction. Take Nolan's Batman Trilogy, he made it realistic, dark and gritty but did not veer away from Batman's story.
