Kratos just randomly appearing in a movie wouldn't make any sense, unless it's a movie like Scream, which is a parody.
Appearing randomly in a game as DLC still doesn't make sense, but DLC and guest characters don't have to make sense.

KT teased that Joss Whedon gave him advice on Action sequences for MK2013. Since that IS his brother in-law, he should milk him for more insight on has on story and character development as well....If that was my brother in-law, I know I'd do that.

Haha I hope so. Haven't seen any full length movie he's done considering they were musicals but I'll give him the credit that his fight scenes were decent so far and he's taking the project very seriously. I heard they were supposed to start around March too but that was just a rumor and we haven't even heard anything for casting some how.

Oh I hope they reveal the cast of the next MK movie. I also hope this movie wil be big as the Avengers but more bloodier like Hostel 2. ;-)

As far as gore goes, look at his original pitch trailer and that's pretty much what I'm expecting, although with a better budget.

I wouldn't expect it to be nearly as big as the avengers considering that movie cost over 200 milion. This movie will have a budget of around 30 to 60 million. Doesn't mean the fighting won't be badass though.

yeah doesnt alot of the budget go on advertising etc also? Suprised there doing an MK movie at all. I know theres been an Mk buzz again but nothing compared to the early 90's.

A movie about MK won't attract ONLY MK fans. Show enough cool fight scenes, and epic slogans. And you'll get random guys who never even played a video game in their life to go watch it.

I have no doubts that if the movie actually ends up being decent and the trailers look good, it'll be successful. W.B. is gonna do everything they can to get their money's worth from the franchise so I'm sure it'll be marketed decently enough. Most people in their 20's or older most likely at least know what mortal kombat is due to it being popular in the 90's and thats what R rated movies are aiming for anyway. Look at Green Lantern for instance. How many people actually knew who he was other then comic book fans and that movie didn't do too bad despite that it also sucked.
