The ONLY reason id buy them (again) is for online play.. and considering the MK9 at the moment is a steaming pile of shit... i won't bother till there's proof of good lagless online matches... the Cheap ass AI RUIN these games...

While I'm slightly disappointed by the news of this Kollection (for obvious reasons), I don't blame NRS or WB one bit since it's apparent there were game quality concerns with the MKHD project. No reason to release something that's going to look or play bad. That being said, I do believe an HD version of Mortal Kombat (with digitzed actors) is possible and something the team will consider revisiting if and when the time is right.

I saw in another thread that Tim Static (and others) mentioned the idea of doing an HD game based on Trilogy. That idea I definitely like. Of course, it wouldn't be a port of Mortal Kombat Trilogy with updated sprites, but rather a new game, with all the characters from the first three games, similar game engine to UMK3, but with all new, re-filmed high definition graphics. I'd think of it sorta like MK9 meets UMK3 (or something like that). Hell, if they were doing palette swaps, they could probably even add in several MK4 characters just for the hell of it. Well, one can (continue to) dream, right? ;-)

I totally agree my man. It is a little disappointing, that it is not HD, but it does appear that they will be the best looking versions of these games ever. How can they not be. The arcade versions were sick!! and I don't wanna hear-"aaawww you can play those on a hacked psp" f*ck that man. Playing these games on my 51" 3D tv!!!!!Online!!!!!!!with my fight sticks!!!!!! oops.............i need to go get a towel.

it will look amazing on a cab monitor.....not sure if you have played MK2 or UMK3 ports on your TV but on mine....well its garbage...looks great on my psp go...( midway arcade treasures - mk1-mk3 )...i could get online also with those games and it wasnt impressive....better than my MK9 experience as i could get through a few matches without lag

this is a horrible move and really shows me that NRS and WB are just out for the cash...these titles should be on disc with extras...even released for the anniversary but instead will be the same ports we already have with nothing new or redone...the price is good, sure but really its an outdated product that most of us have already bought or have....im not supporting this

ps4 will be out in 4 or 5 years. street fighter 5 will be on it. tekken 7 will be on it. and mvc4 will be on it. if mortal kombat 10 is on ps4 and it looks like mk9, mortal kombat will die as a franchise--2dmk 3dmk, it doesn't matter. this franchise used to have the most cutting edge graphics of any fighting game ever released, and if they don't find some way to reclaim that namesake, then they won't be able to survive. and if mk10 shows up on ps3, then god help mk.

What are you TALKING ABOUT? NOTHING REDONE?!?!?! Are you kidding me?!?! ALL 3 GAMES WILL BE ONLINEEEEEEEE!!!! Thats good enough a reason as ANY to buy it! You think I would have bought MK2 if it wasn't online? You think I wanna sit and play MK2 on MAME?!?! F*** that! I would rather turn on my PS3 and play it online!

MAME is fun if you are absolutely bored out of your mind! But there was no better experience for me then playing MK 1, MK2, or UMK3 in the arcades back in the day.... And what was the next BEST thing to that? Playing MK2 on the PSN! Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooot! What a rushhhhhhhhhhh! And now they are bringing them ALL (minus MK4.. boo, Im sad!...) to the PSN! I am super thrilled!

Who cares about HD graphics, they probably would have SCREWED up on the gameplay somehow... probably fix things so that you can't do glitches and secrets (ie. Sub-Zero's double fatality [ Deep Freeze+Ice Grenade via. MK2 ], or perhaps Shang Tsungs TEAM fatality (Sub-Zero's [ Deep Freeze] + Scorpions [Toasty] via. MK2))...

Ahhhhhhhhh fun times! I am 100% for this Arcade Collection. Thank god its NOT in HD! Why re-do the graphics of something that was AMAZING to begin with, and at the same time perhaps suffer in gameplay somehow!?!?!...

anyone wondering how this things gunna look?

i really hope they dont make it look like the Iphone mortal kombat that looked rubbish in my opinion, the characters looked like dummys

i hope it looks the same as it did back in the day only with better pixles,

does anyone know if theyre using real sprites again but with new actors doing the moves?

one last thing,,now this is important,,do you think there will still be like 26 rib cages and 15 sets of arms and legs falling from the sky after a fatality?

I dont understand why people still want to play this games when MK9 is out and its so amazing, i played MK Trilogy until MK9 demo came out, but now with the whole game i dont see the point.
The only thing is that i miss Rain... lol

Because a lot of us have been fans of this series since before you were even born, and still play the classic games to this day. They have a special nostalgia in a lot of our hearts. MK has been one of my all-time favorite game series since the first game hit arcades.

I still play MK 1, MK II, MK 3 AND UMK3 on my Sega Genesis (which is in perfect working condition).

Can care less if its HD or not. I'm looking forward to owning all three arcade games that I spent so much time playing in my childhood! Can't wait to use the TE stick with these games.

Some of the young'ns (like AldoMoreno) know there old school MK, but there's a lot of kids on here I swear have never played a 2d MK until april 19th this year lol. I too still play the old versions (I have all snes/genesis ports) and though they haven't aged gracefully, they still have that "certain something" that makes me feel like I'm 7 all over again.

Exactly. I'm sick of these Negative Nancy's on here whining, "I can already play this on my emulator or MAME!" or, "OMG it's not in HD, and they expect me to pay $10? I'll just go d/l this. (illegally)"

I just want to do Sub-Zero's Spine Rip, Kano's Heart Rip and Raiden's Head Explosion in MK 1.

Sucks that you probably won't be able to change the difficulty setting (since it will be an "Arcade" port), because I can never beat MK II on my PS3.

I was always able to beat MK II on "Medium" and "Hard" on my Sega Genesis, but never on my PS3.
It's like they ramp the difficulty up to "Impossible" for the Arcade versions. :-(
