MK HD Kollection

" He's forbidden to say anything about it dude. :-/"

Bout time someone stepped up with some sense.....People aren't going to risk losing a relationship or credibility just to make some fans happy by telling them something that has become illegal in terms of a contract. That's why I didn't drop any names. I got enough trust from this developer to confirm it's still in the works. Prolly because he knows a Kung Fu teacher/practitioner is going to be a man of their word and not drop names at the risk of their job.

That's why I said that. :)

Re: No one ever asks netherealm about the HD Kollection?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Midway still have the right for the old games? And if they don't, NRS is too busy with the future of MK to worry about the past of the franchise. If you really want to play them, buy a Sega Genesis for what is it now $20 and play them on there. Course, they won't be HD, but an HD version wouldn't look dramatically different, different yes, but not by that much.

Anyway, I believe NRS is working on DLC for MK9 with Fujin rumored to be in it.

Re: No one ever asks netherealm about the HD Kollection?

lol midway owning anything MK....Wrong

WB owns everything MK, old to new

i don't think NRS is doing much if anything for MKHD.....i could see Boon providing input from time to time but not 100% involved

Definitely not dude. WB bought all MK franchise from 1 to Armageddon. Now they're making it HD(not the same old game). From 1 to UMK3 the actors are new (shot by a HD camera), new stage concept.

Re: No one ever asks netherealm about the HD Kollection?

Just noticed that Play N Trade has updated their HD Kollection page with a new release date. I have no clue where they're getting these new days and why they update them, but it's interesting that they haven't just pulled the page yet and continue to update the dates. Anyway, the new date is September 27, 2011. That's a Saturday. I've never heard of a game being released on a Saturday. As always, take it for what it's worth.... practically nothing.

Re: MK: HD Arcade Kollection IS Real

I actually kinda agree with this.

I didn't think I needed a lot of the updated-graphics remakes that have come out over the years.... that is, until I played them. I think it's just a nostalgia thing. If you grew up playing a game, it's always cool to see it with a modern touch.

Also, since MK was so iconic because of its graphics with the digitized actors, I've always wondered how it would look in high definition. When the rumors started going around that the game might just happen, I was very excited, and still am. While I don't technically need HD MK remakes, I do want them. ;-)

Re: MK: HD Arcade Kollection IS Real

I'm going to cancel my Duke Nukem pre order. I'll save the rest of my gift card and my reward points for this. :)

Mortal kombat arcade kollection confermed today on joysiq

Has the rich, all-encompassing story mode of Netherrealm Studios' reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise filled you with an unquenchable thirst for more of the universe's gore-lore? We suggest going back to the franchise's roots -- an act which will be made much easier in late summer, when Warner Bros. Interactive launches the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection on XBLA, PSN and PC for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

The compilation promises to include "arcade-perfect" ports of the series' original trilogy: Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, each of which will be infused with online multiplayer and leaderboards. As an added promotion, the company is licensing an official Mortal Kombat Klassic Fight Stick with PDP, a $129.99 peripheral with a retro Mortal Kombat button layout (similar to PDP's recent Tournament Edition stick) which includes a download voucher for the upcoming Kollection. The Fight Stick is available to pre-order now, but the Kollection itself is not. Because you don't have to pre-order downloadable games, you silly goose.

Re: Mortal kombat arcade kollection confermed today on joysiq

Yeah I found this on TYM. I just automatically assumed it'd be in HD. I am truly pissed...

Re: Mortal kombat arcade kollection confermed today on joysiq

This so messed up! We can all pretty much play these already via MAME and hacked PSPs. What is the point? Im not paying for this, f*** that! I would have preorded it straightaway if it was the HD...

Technically, there's nothing stopping them from releasing this and MKHD... if anybody has the resources to film the footage it's Warner Brothers. It'd be a shame if they did infact scrap it, but it's hard to confirm something being canned that wasn't officially announced in the first place.
