Mass shooting kills 14, injures 50 at The Dark Knight Rises screening in Colorado

he didnt look like the joker either. You seen the pictures ? That red hair made him look more like a mix between Ronald Mcdonald and Perez Hilton.

he fails.

Yeah, he said he was the Joker. Why? Just to rile people, to be more incendiary. To get more attention. That's what mass murders do. It's how they work. It has nothing to do with Bane, the Joker, or Batman. And every minute people spend talking about it in those terms and talking about HIM, he wins, it becomes his victory.

What people should be doing is focusing on the victims, finding ways to comfort them and remember them, not celebritizing that dirtbag.

People just think because he had all that gear on, he was Bane, when he was not. He said to the cops afterwards that he was the Joker when he is actually just a stupid fcking asswipe.

Gubment tryin' take mah guns

We need ta fo-cus on 'at!

which reminds me. Tragedies can dissapear pretty fast and transform into debates about guns.
The talking heads on both sides of gun debates have a field day when things like this happen.

I already know this.

I'm going to presume you guys didn't read the picture I was responding to.

That image is pure stupidity. Also, LOL at them spelling Bane 'Bain'.

Actually, given that the guy purchased 6,000 rounds of ammunition, it's a wonder his aim wasn't better. If he'd used all that ammo to become a better shot, the death toll would have been much higher. I've read the reports of where people were hit. The guy was actually a pretty crap shot.

You presumed wrong, actually. My response was general, not directed at anyone in particular, which is why I didn't quote anyone, and my thoughts stemmed from that very picture.

My mistake.

So how many people where hurt? I hear so many conflicting reports.

Between 50 and 70, I've heard. Compare that with Anders Behring Brevik, the guy who in Norway a year or so ago bombed central Oslo and shot up a youth politics day camp and killed almost 80 people. Norway by the way is a hard place to get weapons in.

The fact that they are making this guy such a star is sickening. I go to TMZ just to randomly catch up on any news regarding the fantasy men in my life and 99% of the news on there is glorifying this pile of garbage. Like, holy shit, do we really need to know he loved Guitar Hero?

I also hate how they call him the 'Dark Knight Rises shooter', and any other related name. Feck off with connecting the movie to this guy. He's a murderer, that is all they need to say.

The poor reporting on this mess is starting to irritate me. For instance:

  • The shooter did NOT have an assault rifle. An assault rifle is generally defined as a military-or-police use rifle that is capable of fully-automatic fire. This means a rifle that fires more than one shot per trigger pull when in full-auto fire selection. The civillian-use, legal-to-own AR-15, which is still a deadly weapon like any firearm, but is not a fully-automatic, military use weapon. It is a semi-automatic, one-round-per-pull rifle. Its comsetic and ergonomic characterists are similar but not identical to its militarized brother, the M-16/SR-16.
  • Blaming the rifle for the majority of the shooter's kills. This is revealed as untrue as witness/victims reports indicate the rifle jammed, and he mostly relied on his two pistols and shotgun.
  • That he was dressed as Bane, or the Joker. He was dressed as neither. He wore a bullet-proof vest (expensive, but legal), gas mask (legal, easy to obtain), and other sundries associated with riot gear. This is not a costume. He wore it in the event he faced resistance, more than likely. It had ZERO to do with TDKR, as it seems on the facts of the case.
  • Colorado does in fact have concealed carry. Why nobody in the theater was carrying was a mystery, but perhaps it's because people in Aurora felt SAFE inside a movie theater during a premiere of a major blockbuster, where there should have been security at entrances and exits. There was a strong, reassuring police force presence at the midnight showing I went to. Why wasn't there in Aurora, CO? Where are the questions about this?

But of course, these are inconvenient truths to the media.
