March 19th Kombat Kast Stream Thread

Re: New Kombat Kast Tomorrow?

Intros I want to see:
Scorpion/Takeda
Scorpion/Raiden
Scorpion/Sub Zero

Mileena/Kotal
Mileena/Kitana
Mileena/Johnny

Mileena/Kano is probably the single most lore significant intro we can hope for from this stream, since Kano has definitely worked for Reiko in the past, and chances are he tries to play Mileena and Kotal against one another in the story now.

But Mileena vs. Anyone has the potential for great venom or hilarity. Kotal, D'Vorah, Ermac, Reptile, Johnny, Cassie, Kitana. Should be loads of fun.

Re: New Kombat Kast Tomorrow?

99% sure this is the Stage Brutalities that the Kombat Tether was talking about. I don't see them having so many unrevealed -alities at this point.

My guess would be the same as brutalities in concept, but executed with a stage interactable.

Re: New Kombat Kast Tomorrow?

Dear NRS please dont let "Derick/Durk/Derp what ever his name is ruin the show with his BS after every intro he makes like a blowing noise like he came in his pants, its retarded seriously, also no talking over intro's F***** it would be a 100x better.
Also reveal cyrax already lol

Lol Kanashimi that cracked me up.

Seriously though, Tyler and balding Mohawk dude, whatever the hell his name is, are both annoying AF. I miss Hector so damn much.

Been meaning to ask about that, whatever happened to Hector? Hans Lo from the Hector/Hans MKvsDCU duo is still at NRS but I haven't heard anything about Hector.

Hector left NRS Bro. I have no idea what he's up to now.

Re: New Kombat Kast Tomorrow?

Can't wait to see Mileena! Hopefully she's going to have a variation focused on her amazing sais, finally. I want her to use it as much as Kitana uses her fans!

Goro or Jason will be the little surprise maybe...

Aww :( He was much more enjoyable than these two guys. Granted, I can tolerate Tyler but Derek gets on my nerves. Working with that guy must be a headache.

Re: New Kombat Kast Tomorrow?

dang, you guys are harsh...

i mean, the guys that do the kast now, i think are pretty good. they're obviously pretty creative, and down to earth, big mk fans, and are pretty good at revealing stuff... give em a break, these are dudes who make the game, not some dudes who got an A+ in speech class.

Re: New Kombat Kast Tomorrow?

Has nothing to do with speech, the Derek guy is just a wholly unlikable douche.

Re: New Kombat Kast Tomorrow?

Just the fact that they seem so agitated when they're requested to shut up during intros is what grinds my gears most about them.

I mean why do they comment about every time they successfully shut up? That's coming off as them thinking they're doing us a grand gesture by doing so, when we just wanna hear some 5 second intro.

Re: New Kombat Kast Tomorrow?

I honestly think its a generational thing. Derek acts the same way most younger people act, but, you know, he's older. I guess he was born in the wrong era. Everyone my age/younger acts like that with their friends (myself included, and i'm no douche... I think :b), which is why all the older folk say "this generation is doomed" and all that junk. Add in the fact that everyone during the kombat kasts are so impatient and angry that they don't want anyone to say a damn word. "Stfu and show gameplay", "we don't care", etc. Remember, anger changes your opinion on things, especially people. You tend to nit pick on the most insignificant details or actions (His "whoo" after kharacter dialogues) and even make fun of the poor guy for trying to have fun with the audience (His receding hairline, we're not all born with perfect hair dammit)

Edit: Just a realization after posting this. Honestly, I've been playing MK since I was VERY young, but i've just recently started to actually be a part of the community, and this is one of the most impatient fan bases I have been a part of lol. In NBA 2K, we literally get NOTHING, no information til about 2 months before release, and yet a lot of people, not specifically you guys, but the ones commenting in the chats during the streams, have absolutely zero patience. Its crazy, man. Then when they do get the info, they attack the guys that give them the gameplay/reveals/whatever its is.

I wish I could thank you two for this. Agreed fully. Why is it so hard for them to keep quiet during the intros? They're both so hard to watch sometimes.

I don't understand what you mean by your first point, are you saying that older people think he shouldn't behave the way he does? Or are you saying that younger people think he's trying too hard to act "cool"?

I only commented on his hairline because I wanted people to know who I'm talking about, too lazy to go search his name up, and that was the most noticeable thing. But overall I'm having trouble trying to understand your post because MK9's Kombat Kasts were really great, with great hosts. These guys aren't at that calibre, and come off as arrogant. Especially Tyler, I read a Kombat Tether written interview with him, he seems to have great joy in knowing things that fans don't and he seems to love to shove that in our faces. Even during the Kombat Kasts, I've noticed he does that. Shit like "oh man, this thing from this unrevealed character is so sweet, hehehe".

Re: New Kombat Kast Tomorrow?

The one thing that felt odd in the trailer was how vague the red mist bit was. I bet it was drawn out more in the rough cut, but removed due to a last minute decision to keep it a mystery for a little while longer. What we did see in the trailer seemed as though it was being set up for a little bit of explaining and then kinda just... stopped.

Red Mist confirmed

A little of both actually, not everything has to be black and white. And I see nothing wrong with teasing the fans. That's what makes you want to know more, at least i'm sure that's what their intentions are. It just doesn't come across that way with a lot of the fans lol, it seems arrogant and smug, but they're just trying to tease us and make us to want more (Keyword:TRYING)
