Another way to go about this could be enabling a DLC option of sorts, that connects DLC buyers with other DLC buyers, King of the Hill rooms with mandatory DLC option, etc.

Just thowing that out there.

Is a lot easier and more accurate to just make the packs mandatories.

The patchs they have realesed have a size of 30mb more or less and the comp. packs have a size of 70 mb more or less, I dont understand why they are not mandatories, there is not a huge difference in the size.

This. If they are favouring people with no HDD space so they can still get online, then why do they bother releasing any patches at all? A ridiculous excuse.

Mandatory free compatibility pack for MK characters? SURE

Mandatory free compatibility pack for guest characters? F*** NO!!!
I don't want to see another guest character in MK.
If it means not downloading the compatibility pack, not to see a dumb-shit character like Freddy or Jason, then I'm all for it.
It's bad enough that they didn't give us the option to choose that with Kratos.

100% agree. i will NOT download the compatibility pack if the mystery character is not from the mk universe.

I am going to pick the unpopular vote and say "no".

It is not the player's duty to ensure compatibility with other players when playing online. It is the developer's.

I do not understand why Mortal Kombat 9 does not screen for players who do not own the DLC nor have the compatibility pack when matchmaking. There are plenty of games out there that do not feature compatibility packs and just split the player base up when matchmaking between those that have a particular piece of content and those that do not.

it should just come in a form of a pacth so u have to download it or you cant play online becuase i love Kenshi and three or so macthes people didnt download the comp pack and i couldnt use smoke and noobs classic kostume

After giving it some thought, I wish there was a way to change my vote to "against." Fortunately I don't have a PS3, so I don't have to worry about Kratos being in my game, but in the off chance that those Freddy/Jason rumors are true, I certainly don't want them in my game or any chance of ever having to face them. If that means not getting the compatibility pack that would come with them, so be it.

Really, you guys need to stop with the possible guest characters. All of the characters so far have been pure MK characters. EVEN IF they release a guest character, the amount of pure MK characters will still GREATLY dominate.

Obviously, and that's why I initially voted in favor: there was no harm. But having thought about it, those "what ifs" start rolling, and there is legitimacy in those.

If the same results can effectively be achieved thru just having rooms specifically set up for those who have DLC (and be required for entry), then why force things onto those who don't want someone showing up in their game? Again, right now it's not an issue. But what if, say, Barney was released as an actual character, and you were forced to patch him into your game? Sure, it might be fun at first to rip that purple bastard's head off, but that'd get old REALLY fast. And him showing up even once after that would start to get on one's nerves.

I don't think people should be voting against just on the slim chance we ever get a crossover character. As it stands, people with MK characters are unable to fight people with other MK characters.

imo even wen u set up dlc lobbies ders still mischievous feckers dat will join anyway or wen your in a koth it only take 1 not to have a dlc an everyone gets kicked kenshis IS mk skarlet IS mk i dont get it .....noone moans about rain bein dlc

The compatibility update should have been included with the DLC kharacter. NO reason to have a seperate download. Common sense that if you're gonna sell a new kharacter, then include the comp update with it so we dont have these kind of problems

Because you don't want to fight them online? Wow.. Some people just... WOW.

I paid for my character, I should be able to play with them whenever I want... and NOT because you didn't download the pack because you don't want to fight them.

If that was the case, I would delete half of my disk because I don't like:

Scorpion
Ermac
Reptile
Raiden
ect....

THIS!
Plain and simple.

I support this of course, but I'd just like to say that I play private 1 on 1 with my friend. We both have all DLC, packs, and updates yet we still get de-synced when using some outfits.

Honestly I think there is still work to be done in the code.

If people bring up the no HDD issue on 360, how are they able to get all of these patches? They should start living in the current generation and actually get a console with a HDD.

Opinions are opinions.
Just because I don't particularly agree with something, doesn't mean it's negative.

Someone got hurt over it?
That's a different story.
If I did hurt someone over something I posted, then I'm sorry.

I don't just say shit to purposely hurt people.

Just to clear it; wasn't me. I only neg rep people if they start going on about THE WORLD IS GOING TO END IF DLC IS TERRIBLE ONE MORE TIME!!!!!!1!!!!11ONE!one. Or some such.

Also, this is a good point ^.

I recently bought a 360 without a hard drive (one of the newer models that the old Hard Drives don't fit in), so what did I do? I went out and bougth a wrench set for ten bucks, broke open my old Hard Drive, and plugged it in to the new Xbox. Yeah, eat that M$.....
