Mandatory Compatibility Pack "Petition"

Im on ps3 and have all the dlc so far. Often i come across people without the compatabilty packs and cannot use my new characters wich sucks.

Well Im kinda pushing to main Rain since all of my friends get the characters and packs and a few of my friends main with Kenshi and one of my other friends is probably one of the best Skarlet players Ive seen in my life. Its just a thing where we all main a DLC character and see whos the best. XD
 
I could care less.
As long as Rain is available offline, I'm happy.

If the rare chance comes up that someone doesn't download the compatibility pack for online, and I wan't to use Rain, I just won't fight them.
Plain and simple.
I'm not getting grey hairs over it. ;-)
 
I know I have said this before, but I have the desire to become a Game Designer. As such, I have been watching shows like Extra Credits, which is basically this Game Design Teacher giving his opinion on where games are headed. He's got some good opinions, you should check them out.


ANYWAY, I bring this up because recently he did an episode on Microtransactions, which is basically an "In Game Store" for those of you not up to date with the lingo. DLC can be considered a Microtransaction, since it isn't included in the game to begin with and you have to pay for it.

I would try to write down a basic gist of it, but I think I'll just let him describe it himself.

Important bits are at 2:25-3:11, 4:17-4:21, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!! 7:04-7:30

I'll be in the minority and say nay. If character #4 is someone completely underwhelming like Tanya, Frost, Reiko or Cyber-Smoke, I want the option to not have to look that disappointment in the eye when I boot up MK with my (thusfar) ideal roster. Not saying that I will just if it's a character I dislike, but I don't want to feel forced into it. If the 4th character happens to be a guest, you can sure as shit bet that I won't touch even the compatibility pack, even though I bought the season pass. Non-MK stuff simply won't wind up in my game. =\

Yeah, if they do not make the Comp. Packs mandatory at some point, even if it's a few days after #4 comes out, I'm not buying anymore DLC.

There just isn't a point to when every spoiled brat says "I don't like character X, s/he isn't great enough to even be on my TV!" Why buy something your never going to get to use?
 
Gosh, people act like offline play isn't an option. Just because others waste their money on whatever the last garbage character is, doesn't mean they need to take space on my hard drive and mug-up my screen. If anyone's the spoiled brats here, it's you all, expecting to be catered to because you feel entitled. It's apparent that not everyone has the same opinion as I do on this issue, and so there will more than likely be plenty of times you will get to use whatever precious garbage character you may download.. and if by chance you run into someone that doesn't have the comp pack, do what you had been doing for the 2 months that there were no DLC characters - PICK SOMEONE THAT'S ALREADY ON THE SCREEN. Oh well, I know they aren't making them mandatory, and because so, if I decide I don't want DLC #4, I know that I won't have to see them on my screen and there's nothing anyone can do about it, just as it should be.

Also, whoever negrepped me on my last post, your pettiness is laughable. I answered the poll and gave my reason, if the TC intended on everyone to give the same answer, there would not have been a poll.

Did you ever stop and think that maybe, just maybe, offline ISN'T an option for some of us? Some of us live in the middle of nowhere and HAVE to play Online because every "gamer" near you thinks gaming starts and ends with CoD:BO?

Also, no shit we are "entitled" we spent more money than you on the game if you haven't boughten all the DLC characters. That means, if NRS wants more money, they are going to cater to the paying players before the non-paying players. That's the way businesses stay in the black....

If we pay money for someone to PUT THEM ON OUR SCREEN, WE SHOULD GOD DAMN BE ABLE TO PICK THEM ONLINE NO MATTER WHO WHINES ABOUT WHAT CHARACTER THEY ARE OR WHAT GAME THEY COME FROM.

Well dang, I forgot that this Mortal Kombat didn't come with a ladder mode.

With that logic, you should. Sure. I understand the point. Yeah, you spent a whole lot more money. I'm sure your $5 character broke your bank. You can God damn be able to pick them, lol, just not when you play against someone that doesn't have/want the comp pack. I paid for my game brand new just like most people on this site did, and I can play it however I damn well choose. If that includes not having the 4th character if I don't like them, so be it. It seems like all the whining I see going on, is from people like you. The comp packs aren't going to become mandatory, for a multitude of aforementioned reasons, and not everyone is going to get them. Don't like it? Tough tits.

If they don't become mandatory, NRS is going to see a rapid decrease in sales. Why? Because people can't use them online, and because REAL tournaments don't allow them anyway. If they don't become mandatory, there is no point in buying them, and if there is no point in buying them, no one will. It is NOT about how much money it's worth, it's about the fact that we paid more than you did, and if NRS doesn't cater to it's paying customers, it's not going to enjoy the sales of it's DLC much longer.

Also, you ever hear this saying? "You can do whatever the hell you want in Single Player, but the moment you jump on Multiplayer, you are NOT playing your own game anymore. If you ruin the fun of Multiplayer, you are depriving others of their fun that they rightfully paid for".

Also, Ladder mode is only fun the first thousand times you do it.


Anyway, I'm done argueing with you. Your just another teenager of America's "I'm SPEHSSUL and deserve evertings mah way!" generation. I hope the mentality that you have displayed in this debate serves you well in life.

***** about it all you want, I really wasn't debating with you. The comp packs aren't mandatory, I don't give a **** if NRS's sales drop, and if I don't like the 4th DLC character I don't have to have them on my hard drive. You are fully entitled to piss and moan about it (as you have), just as I am fully entitled to not give one shit what you decide to waste your money on.
