I think NRS should make the compatibility packs a required download to be able to play online. If I pay for DLC, I should be able to use it any time I want. I shouldn't just not be able to use it because someone is too lazy to download the free pack or lives under a rock. To some people it might not matter but think about this.... What if your favorite character wasn't selectable just because someone else didn't download something for free?

It's always a crapshoot on whether or not I'll be able to use a character that I want or just a costume. I also can't use my MK1 Sub-Zero the majority of the time, even after re-installing the costume multiple times.

All for it. At least for the new one you can find it in the ps store. So hopefully more people get it. Still, it would just be easier to make it a mandatory download.
 
Absolutely.

If developers do have to pay, it's still not a deal breaker for them. Shell out a bit more money to give the fans a better game. It didn't seem like they have to pay to patch the game though, they just make it difficult. Seemed like developers only get one DLC for free, they have to pay to put out the rest. That was my understanding at least.

Either way, it's pretty damn stupid to buy DLC and then not be able to use it because people are too lazy to download a free compatibility patch that they are instantly notified of when they start up MK9.
 
I agree, while the download is a bit annoying to get with a slow connection, probably you should not even be playing online with a poor internet speed (:
 
Mandatory. You GAIN costumes, and you DONT piss off other people. WinWin in my book. Just have it done when the MK game automatically checks for online content.

If your complaining bout dl speeds, then you probably shouldnt be online gaming as is lol
 
Totally agree, Immortal. Why can't I use my DLC chars and outfits?? Just because some jerk didn't download the free comp pack?? C'mon, man. Kenshi & Skarlet RULE, yet it kills it for me when I know I won't be able to use them half the time online.

So I guess the fix for the ps3 desyncs is just a message saying download kenshi and skarlett and the conpatability packs in the message of the day. I hope not.

More people have the kenshi one, but not a lot have the skarlett one. Grrr....

I couldn't agree more with this.
 
These "Compatibility packs" should have been a DLC patch in the first place. You can tell how ignorant NRS is when they can't remove pre patch - hotfix abilities from classic skin characters (Smoke's OTG smoke bomb, Cyrax bomb trap). A good majority of game developers know how to patch DLC, maybe NRS should ask for their help?

Well i have a question abut te packs since i bought the skins and skarlet its obvious that my friend could not see them nor play with her...but he downloaded the compatibility pack yesterday and i could not still use my skins nor skarlet with him on a online matter is something wrong with it? Is it maybe because i have the comp.pack too? Can someone help me?
