LIU KANG fighting style

Since this game isn't fighting style derived like the previous 3D ones were, it won't make as big of a deal in this game. Having said that, I would like to see him go back to his black sparring pants, no bandana, but with the longer hair from MK2 & 3. His MK1 stance was classic, but I'd be ok with some sort of hybrid MK1/Marshall Law from Tekken stance.

Note - I'm strictly speaking his STANCE, I'm not advocating he inherit any of Law's moveset. Just possibly having a similar stance.

He got the bandanna from Goro who got it from Great Kung Lao. It holds significance, so I don't think it won't be a part of his costume(s) or at least an alternate.

if thats the case I would like to see Liu inherit the tekken 6 stances. I never really liked the one from tekken 3 to 5.

@mortalkombat Really??? I never knew that

Well, since Johnny Cage already has Bruce Lee's fighting style, he should have his own. Liu Kang shouldn't be darker nor evil, it will take away what Liu Kang really is, a Shaolin and a hero. He should not be evil or dark. He should stick to what he is now. Cause like I said before, you sure would be pissed as hell if your character was changed up. Liu Kang needs to stay how he is and was in MK1.

Understand what you mean with him retaining his good personality but there's ways to make him less bland of a character and keep that identity. Someone said in the past if they showed the hard ships he went through to be the warrior that he is, it would make him more respectable and i agree with that. In all the past games, they made it seem like he was just the chosen one and could beat everyone with his hands tied behind his back which just made him seem like superman. If they show the struggles he went through to be the best, I would like him a lot more as a character. As far as his looks go, they really don't need to change too much but at least make him look like he's been through battles before. I got a good feeling that they're gonna flesh out a deeper story with him this time around though

I'm with those who say Liu should not go anti-hero, and all of a sudden be dark. We have a lot of those characters already, so it's good to keep some variety. The more variety, the better.

Guys, Jeet Koon Do is the stance and basic attacks Kang has in almost all the classic MKs. I understand that they gave it to Johnny in Deadly Alliance, but they also gave Sonya his flying kick.

These stances:

Mk3_liu_kang.gif
Mk4_liu_kang.gif
Lui_kang1.gif
are all jeet koon do stances.

I don't know what he's doin' in MK2. Heh.

Yeah but, it wouldnt be Liu Kang if he is darker, thats what I am trying to say. And I hope you are right bro.

Really? Hmmm show me your source.

Well since Liu Kang and Kung Lao are both Shaolin Monks and they need to be individual, I think that Kung Lao should use mostly punches and Liu Kang should use mostly kicking combos.

That is so simple, yet a great idea! It makes perfect sense from what we've seen of Kung Lao compared to what we know of Kang's iconic moves such as his flying and bicycle kick..
