Li Mei?

as we all saw in the story trailer there was girl that look like exactly like like li Mei and if that her is there more to her then just npc could she be a fighter?
 
She doesn't look anything like Li Mei.

In fact, she looks nothing like her. It's just assumed that she is Li Mei based on what she said about her village.

People only assume she's Li Mei because of the heritage and the fact that she says 'village' as Li Mei did in MKD.
 
I was thinking the same thing, but I also thought she didn't look anything like Li Mei but hey we don't know, she could be older Wiser Li Mei. Maybe it is and maybe she isn't playable but has a role in the Story. She did mention her village was an Epicenter for the Netherralm War.

Exactly, I never said she was Li Mei or not, I just said she doesn't look anything like her because he said "she looks exactly like Li Mei".
 
yeah they probally change her face and hair for the different timeline like everything is change in this timeline and even ed boon said li mei may have role in the story. i never said it was her i said a girl that look like lie mei
 
Why would she look like her Deception/Armageddon design that came about because of a specific event that never happened in the new timeline?

Compare to her DA design instead. There's one big thing both that outfit and the one the girl in MKX is wearing have in common--a flower design on both of them.
 
Umm... li mei was really pretty in MKAR, if this woman happens to be li mei... well, i'll be truly disappointed lol (you get my point?)
 
If that's Li Mei, she looks a lot older!!! I honestly don't like that face. I want her to look a little more softer on the face.
 
i think it could be li Mei beacause as we all know she was trained by bo rai cho in the orginal timeline and we know that bo rai cho might make an apperance since he was mention on the cast leak and kung jin was trained by him since the clothes he is wearing looks like outworld clothes so i wonder if both kung jin and li mei trained together?
 
I don't get the Li Mei hate. She's the only chick in MK that actually resembles anything close to a Chinese woman and I quite like it, besides I've always found her style rather unique in MK, at least she didn't rip-off any moves from someone else.

If she's eventually in MK in the future, I'll be totally fine with it ;)

In all fairness, Boon just made one of his lame jokes using her name. She "mei or mei not be in". It could be her - and I do think it's her as a cameo - but it was just some lame joke that shouldn't be taken much seriously.

As for her face, well... Let's just say that I never saw so many complaints about women's faces as with MK fans/players. This is possibly the first time they ever got women's faces actually OK and all I see are complaints because "ZOMGZ she dusnt lookz perfect n we all know dat women shuld be perfect!11" (let me make it clear that I think that "perfection" is something that can only be found in one's eyes. there's no such thing as absolute perfection - I like my women real and curvy, thank you very much, not the usual smooth skin, delicate looks and thin body "perfect woman")
 
Woman from the picture reminds me a lot about malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh - a potential inspiration perhaps?

Not sure if she's Li mei but would like to see a character in a roster which resembles a strong and noble female warrior with traditional chinese vibes. It's just a theory...but perhaps boot number 3 could belong to her? ;)
