Kung Lao is and wlll always be overpowered.

KL is strong but you can see in the World Champ match up vs Mileena (the weakest character in the game in damage points and my personal favy) he had a pretty hard time defeating her, lol. KL can easily be beaten with the right playstyle :) just don't rush him.

I had some amazing battles with a KL player last night, guy name of "Sick PL". Don't know if he comes here, but he has a pretty good KL. Played a absolute ton of KL vs NW matches last night. Every game was tense, with each of us adapting, baiting, readapting and so forth.

Maybe it's just cause NW has an easier time against him than others, but I don't think KL needs mega nerfs like everyone asks for.

I do find his spin makes him practically invulnerable against jumps and rush downs so maybe that could be addressed? Other than that, don't hit him that hard. Characters like Raiden, Kano and Cyrax need more immediate attention imo.

personally kung lao is my favorite character second only to sub-zero.

if you ask me ermac is the one who needs to be nerfed. he is too fast and powerful and is

extremely versatile with

the ability to adapt to anyone, much like scorpion.

kung lao is a great character and if you ask me the only problem is that he is too polished. when i play with him he feels very complete where as some of the others feel a little under polished. even from a graphical stand point he seems a little more well done than most of the others.

maybe he was the first character to be created for mk 9, or maybe he was originally meant to be the main character. either way you can tell that a lot of time and effort went into him in particular, whereas characters like sheeva and kabal feel kinda last minute and under developed.

lol @ Ermac needing nerfs. I'm no ermac fan per se, but he doesn't need any nerfing. He has no decent high low mixups at all, only like 1 overhead, it's extremely hard for him to open peoples' defence up. He does alot of damage to mitigate these problems.

Kung Lao definitely needs nerfs imo. How can u say it's fair that it's someone's fault for losing to a Kung Lao player JUST because they didn't pick a Kung Lao. He has the most 7-3 matchups in his favor and is either 6-4, 7-3, or even 8-2 with like 80% of the cast. The only characters who have a decent shot at competing against a kung lao player are nightwolf, kitana, Kabal, and another kung lao player

Nobody asked, but I'll jump in anyhow. I think it'd be just about perfect if they just got rid of the Dive Kick or the Ground Hat. Not both, but just lose one of those moves...he'd still be very strong, but more in line with everyone else, as opposed to clearly better than everyone else.

ground hat is going nowhere. That one is fine, plus it makes use of his iconic hat.

the dive kick is annoying as **** though. wouldnt mind them getting rid of that. But in the end, it isnt about the moves that need to be removed. Its just his speed is abit too ridiculous. Slow him down nrs

I still say get rid of his damn ground hat.

Its not even an original move.
So nopony can argue its absence.

He'll be closer to Cyrax's level then, a little higher still, but closer.

IMO, his spin is predictable on wakeup which is almost a free punish on hi wakeup game. Teleport can be caught easily by an upper cut. And at long range, KL's never decide to use anything besides Ground Hats and a teleport...

I think that the key to destroying a KL is to bait the shenanigans out of him and punish accordingly
