I thought the exact same thing, I had to ask someone in order to confirm the thread's title before I made the actual thread, lol.
 
Eh is Kitana's only good pressure string f4 mixups? I find myself using that to scare my opponents leaving them either to block low and get hit by the overhead, or stand blocking and catch the sweep.

What's a good punishment against Kung Lao's spin? On block I can get atleast a poke with d1 (which is nothing) or, a slash with qcf+2. I could probably punish with ex fan and, possibly get a free combo but i'm not the type to waste meter.
 
Well you Kitana fans should be happy she gets an MK2 Klassic along with Jade saturday MK_Online just broke the news on Twitter and FaceBook. Cant post links from my phone check it out

If you block Kung Lao's EXspin/spin, you get a full F+2,1 combo. Just make sure you do it quick and release block right after it hits. It may not be possible online but it is possible.

Yeah they updated there twitter a little late, sorry about that. Nice find. Still dissapointed though, they could of gave other characters a chance like Johnny Cage, Sonya, Stryker, Kabal, the list goes on...
 
Im kinda exited for the costume. however I dont think there will be much difference between that and the MK3 costumes

Kitana's (f+4) is her only mix-up option but it does catch a lot of people of guard, especially if they are cornered it gives you the chance to really mess with their head.

Like xTHUGx mentioned, punish Kung Lao with a (f+2,1) combo although if you have trouble punishing online you can use the cutting fan(d,f+2) and get a free jump in that way.

(f+4) is a very good mixup option. if they block low and you press 1 after words...you set up a combo opportunity. if they block high and you press (b+4) afterwards...you scored a knockdown and can continue your mixup game. she may not be the best at mixups liker her twin mileena...but if you get caught up in her mixup game..expect to spectate for a while because your gonna be juggled and eat a long...long.....LONG combo..especially if you're fighting me lol :)

Lol so true, Kitana's juggles were what drew me to her, I'm abysmal with everyone else but I feel comfortable using her. Might have something to do with the fact that Kitana is who I've practiced with since the game came out though :P

It's a shame your on PS3, I'd love to test my skills but I suppose we'll just have to hope for a DLC that allows cross-platform fights ... I know, I'm dreaming, right?
 
That's a pretty good combo Thirteenth, she does have other combos though that can reach up to 50% using only one bar. As crazy as the combo is, doesn't really seem practical to use three bars when you know a 50% combo using only one bar. Also, I don't know if you plan to use Kitana more, I know you said you don't main her, but her EX fan cancel opens up a combo opportunity if it hits so I think it would be more practical to use them separately then in the same combo.

The combo I was referring to is; 2, 1, EX Fan Cancel, JiP, f+2, 1, NJP, 4, Fan, 4, Fan Lift, Dash, b+2, Air Fan, Dash, Fan, Dash, 4, Cutting Fan.

Good effort anyway though Thirteenth, it's always a problem for me to come up with high damaging combos, I just steal them off everyone else :P
 
Kitana is the only character I have had much success with online. Given my lack of skill at the game I stick to basics like a 2-1-2 combo or a F+2-1-uppercut combo, and then spam fans until I get off another 2-1-2.

I've seen some videos of people doing some really cool stuff, but I don't seem to be able to build up enough speed to do a fan toss after a dialed in combo.

If you wanted to throw a fan after the (2,1,2) combo then you would shorten it to (2,1,Fan toss).

If you want to learn some combos, check the ones on the first page and sit in practice mode to learn them, once you feel comfortable take it to the ladder and after that take it online!
 
Thanks for the vid.

It sounds kind of like he's whinning. Kitana's got a lot of pluses from using her fans but every character has their advantages. Tom Brady sit's around his clone, I can moan about that all day long but it's all play style. Sub-Zero can freeze people, that's why he doesn't have 50% combos. Kitana's (D+1) is boss though, I think I over use it lol :P

At least we all know who Tom Brady fears now!
