Kitana Thread - "You'll Learn Respect!"

1,1,2,cutting fan is starting to be a new Kombo for me since its pretty fast and will keep the opponent on the defense. And when its all been blocked I could follow it up with 4,Fake out kick. However I still need to test more online

Yeah for some reason that 1,1,2 string makes the cutting fan insanely fast. So do other strings like 1,1.

here is my bnb 41% no meter
j2 f+2,1 b+2 fan toss dash fan toss f+2 (pretty kick not sure of the name it's down back 3 )
this one is practical ,easy and the damage without the combo starter is 38%

You could try this for more damage.
F+2,1,NJP,4,fan,dash,4,FanLift,dash,dash,B+2,airfan,dash,groundfan,dash,4,FanCutter.

Overall, good combo though.
 
awesome but a bit hard on my xbox, do you know away to maximize ur damage from opponents stuck in your air fans?
my dash fan toss f+2 (pretty kick) is 27% but it doesn't connect from far away leaving me with 14 or 15%

Yes sir. If you ever manage to land an Air Fan on anyone, you want to throw a Ground Fan right after, therefore it'll hit the opponent while he's falling down and leave him very close to the ground and vulnerable. Here are some Fan Combos Kitana is capable of...

Notations/KEY
EX Fan-CANCEL= Doing an Enhanced Fan while pressing and holding 1 then followed by a dash to cancel out of Fan animation.
ff= Dash
JK=Jump kick (it can either be 3 or 4, doesnt matter)

Fan combo starters
34% (1 bar) - Air Fan, Ground Fan, EX Fan-CANCEL, ff, Ground Fan, EX Fan-CANCEL, ff, Ground Fan
30% (1 bar) - JK, air fan toss,Ground Fan, EX Fan CANCEL, dash, Ground Fan
36% (2 bar) - JK, air fan toss, Ground Fan, EX Fan CANCEL, dash, Ground Fan, EX Fan CANCEL, dash, Ground Fan

awesome combos you are a beast mate,but i end all my kitana juggles with f+2 pretty kick to maximize the damage.
for example jk , air fan, ground fan, dash,f+2 pretty kick 32% damage no meter.
but sometimes when the opponent is far away you can't reach him with f+2 (although it has amazing range) you think the ex-fan cancel can keep him on air long enough for me to reach him?
can't test it on training mode cuz air fan toss is a bit higher than jump kick and it catches the opponent on the other end of the screen.
so what do you think?

Ex Fan keeps the opponent in air for a longer period of time, therefore you most likely be able to land a f+2 before he falls onto the ground. But anyways, you got some good combos to start off with.
 
Its about time Kitana gets some love! I think she is one of the best characters in the game. I use her and Scorpion as my main and when i tag with them its usually over whoever im playing. The one thing i have a hard time connecting with is her X-Ray in a combo. Any suggestions. Thanks for creating this thread Thug.

You can easily do any of these...

F+2,1,NJP,X-ray

F+2,1,dash,B+2,X-ray

2,1,Fan Lift,dash,B+2,X-ray

And of course there's many ways you can switch it up, im just naming a few that I know off the top of my head.

EDIT: Just now, some guys in TYM found a new X-ray unbreakable combo that does 45% Here it goes.

aa Ground Fan- Catching an opponent in air with Kitana's fan while in standing position aka Ground Fan, so this being said, you want to catch your opponent with a ground fan right after he either jumps or is about to fall/land from a jump.

iXray - Simply jump and X-ray as soon as possible.

iAF - Simply jump and do a Fan as soon as possible.

45% [Xray] - aa Ground Fan, iAF, Ground Fan, iXray

Note: The X-ray combo will only work if done with iXray and not while on the ground, due to the Xray in air being faster than doing it from the ground.

Who can tell me her straight BnB combos Meterless and main xyray combo

My favorite combos to use are ...

f+2,1,b+2,Air Fan,Dash,f+3,1,Pretty Kick

f+2,1,b+2,Air Fan,EX air fan (Requires 1 bar of meter)

f+4, 1,Dash, 1, 1, Fan Lift, Dash, Dash, B+2, Air Fan, Dash, Dash, 2, 1, 2

My usual X-Ray combo's are ...

f+2,1,b+2,Air Fan,X-Ray

f+4,1,Dash Cancel, b+2, Dash, X-Ray

NOTE: You can add in a Neutral Jump Punch after any (f+2,1) for an extra hit and usually some extra damage but it's difficult to time online

Sorry, I'm not sure of the damage output off the top of my head but they're pretty simple combos once you get the hang of them.

I like this thread. I enjoy the female characters the most (unless you seriously count Sheeva as a female). But I was expecting this thread to be a bit of something else too ... I wanted to voice my sadness in not having her teleport (except in the X-ray) and instead got *imo* a worthless move in the fake out kick.

Also, I have been working on some of the combos I have seen ... and most of them seem unfinishable as mentioned. Was a patch done that I am unaware of? I had heard there was a way for them to "adjust" playstyles without people even realizing.

Kitana is a very versatile fighter. She's deadly from any range, whether applying pressure at close range, or being a royal pain with her Fan Toss. Much like Sektor, Kitana is heavily reliant on her Super Meter for many of her more damaging juggles. Her juggles are also difficult to pull off, and will require lot’s of practice to get down.


Need To Know Combos and Moves:

Majestic-2, 1, 2: Great for applying pressure from close range, not so good for juggling. Can combo into any of her special moves after the second hit, most notably her EX Fan Toss, or Cutting Fan.

Deadly Rush-Forward+4, 1: The second input hits overhead, and pops the enemy up for a juggle.

Deception-Forward+4, Back+4: The second input hits low, so use if the enemy blocks high, expecting an overhead attack.

Blue Blood-Back+3, 3: A fast two-hit combo, great for juggling.

Noble Lift-Forward+2, 1: Pops the enemy up for a juggle. Somewhat sluggish, however, and kinda tough to land on a defensive enemy.

Upraise-Back+2: Can combo into an Air Fan Toss.


Notes on X-Ray:

Base Damage: 31% damage. One of the most gruesome X-Rays in the game, yet it is one of the weakest. Due to Kitana’s reliance on her Super Meter for many of her more damaging juggles, you’ll probably rarely use this X-Ray.


MISC Notes:

Fan Toss: Quite possibly one of the most annoying projectiles in the game, as it causes a stagger reaction. It can also be done in the air, making it hard for the enemy to advance. It also causes an airborne enemy to stagger in the air, leaving them open to juggles. It's a deadly anti-air tool, as it can lead to over 30% juggles, by simply using multiple Fan's to keep the enemy airborne. The EX version throws two fans and can delay the second fan and dash cancel out of it.

Square Boost: A good anti-air tool, and a juggle ender. Can be done in the air to allow Kitana to approach easier. Can also be used to get out of a corner. EX version causes more damage.

Fan Lift: Also a good anti-air tool, and leaves the enemy airborne for a juggle. It can also be combo'd off any basic combo. EX version has a much faster startup animation.

Cutting Fan: A fairly fast move that can be used to apply pressure from close range. It also causes a stagger reaction when landed, which gives you enough time to formulate which attack you want to follow it up with. Can be combo'd off any basic combo, and serves as a excellent juggle ender. EX version causes two extra hits for extra damage.

Pretty Kick: Also serves as a decent way to end a juggle. EX version causes an extra hit for extra damage. Other than that, not really much to comment on.

Fake Out Kick: Has the same startup animation as the Pretty Kick, only this hits low. Can be used to sneak in a low hit in a basic combo, such as her 1, 1. This move doesn't have an EX version.

Vs. Projectile Spammers, Zoners, and Keepaway: The Square Boost goes over almost every projectile in the game. The EX Fan Toss also causes the enemy to be staggered, and unable to move, or throw any projectiles.

Vs. Teleports: Block, the punish using the Fan Toss to keep them in the air. You can also use the Air Fan Toss to bait the enemy into teleporting, as Kitana will recover fast enough to block the teleport.

Anti-Air: Kitana is by far one the deadliest anti-air characters in the game. The Fan Toss cover a good amount of horizontal space, making it hard to jump over, and the Air Fan Toss leaves them open for damaging juggles. The Square Boost and Fan Lift are also good anti-air options.

really??? i find the fake out kick VERY useful!! i always play around with my opponent ;)
