Well, unfortunately for Jade, MK9 didn't really look for, or find, any hooks for her as a character that other characters don't already do better. She's a female assassin who uses an exotic weapon? Kitana's a female assassin who uses an exotic weapon, and Kitana has way higher priority than Jade does. Jade's from Outworld? Kitana and Mileena are from Outworld. She's a bodyguard? Anyone can be a bodyguard. If she's resurrected, she'll seek vengeance against Quan Chi? Get in line. It's a long line.

And it looks like Kitana isn't even resurrected in MKX, so we'd just have two female zombie assassins running around serving Quan Chi dressed in bikinis instead of one. The only people who stand to gain something from Jade's inclusion in MKX are people who like Jade a whole lot already. Are there enough of them for that to matter to NRS? I guess not.

How do you know that for sure? If that's the case then NRS should've just spared all the effort in regards to designing her new look, hire the voice actress, write intro dialogues, etc. and not even put her in MKX.

I don't know for sure, that's why I said "it looks like." You can check out my Briggs Family thread in the spoiler section for some theories on the timeline. It doesn't look fantastic for Kitana.

But I was too hasty in saying "at all." We have no idea how the game ends, she can absolutely get resurrected then.

If that's the case then NRS should've just put her in MK11 instead.

Not really. First of all, Kitana has a huge fanbase - way, way bigger than Jade's - so that would mean a lot of upset fans. Second, Shinnok needs an army and it just so happens that Kitana is Quan Chi's Revenant at the moment. I'm not one to cave in to fan demands at the cost of artistic integrity, but this is just a matter of practicality. They killed two birds with one stone.

And if they get her resurrection in before the game ends, even if it's very last second, that means they can wrap up all the resurrections here and keep them out of MK11. Three birds one stone.

I love Kitana for being the only princess of the game, because all the other characters are assassins and that´s not really original at all...

However, I´m not digging that alternate suit, I mean I love her primary costume, because it ressembles a princess (not a classic princess but an arabic or asian one)

I´m waiting to see more of the Jingu, I think that´ll be my main... because the mk9 one and the revenant one are too nude for a princess and I don´t want that for Kitana (only for the rest of the female roster)
 
What I really want to know now is if her MK9 suit is her Klassic outfit.... Because I want something more klassic like her MKDA ones....
But I think they will end up being the same thing, because if you see Jhonny´s shirtless outfit, it´s pretty obvious it´ll be his Klassic one.... A bit sad IMO...

Kitana was born a princess. It makes more sense, to me at least, that the royalty factor of her character is present in her appearance. I feel like NRS's designers are scared of designing Kitana's more royal look. Her assassin costume has a lot of cool stuff going on, and I'm not sure why they didn't do the same thing to her alternate costume. They should've gone crazy! Shimmering armor, flowey sleeves, jewelry, long flowing hair, elegant fabrics, etc. Instead of a mask give her a transparent veil - there are just so many ways they could've done that costume better. I'm a little disappointed, but I know they're working hard. I just hope Princess Kitana (or Queen, if this game allows that to happen) will someday look like this:
