I knew they will announce Kabal;] He looks like a mix of previous designs, mk3/deception primary and deception alternate, mainly the mask from alternate one. He's one of my favourites, like his gameplay so far, im glad they're dindn't make him as fast as Flash from MKvsDC, even if his faster than most others he doesnt look overpowered.

Awesome ! Well done, nice job on Kabal, NRS & Ed ! I love his new look, gameplay and all. His updated appearance is top-notch, and the fact he is more "burned" is a class touch : this shows now how serious and painful his injuries were done .....
His voice is cool, and he resembles a desert-warrior lone wolf nomad, hehe !
- His Saw-Blade Ground move is different, a bit "weird" : looks like more a giant "Shuriken" than saws, hehe
- His X-Ray is good and fits well Kabal agility and speed
- Nice that he keeps his traditional MK3 moves, maybe he has none other specials ?
- His fatality is pretty good, violent , but , a bit "illogical" : no way he can cut off a body with a vertical slash/slice and have a head stuck in his hooksword - the type of cut on the head is done by a horizontal move, not a vertical one ..... anyway, it's MK universe, hehe
- He seems faster than any other character, with exception maybe of Liu Kang.
- His hookswords sounds when combo is done, is pretty cool !
Kabal , along with Noob Saibot and Kano ( gotta see more footage of Baraka, and Smoke when he's gonna be revealed) are the most badasses so far in this game !
I can see a skilled tag team Kabal/Noob as a true "nightmare" online to fight against with !
** Soul Chamber seems pretty nice, a good update in a traditional stage
** This stage with black background, seems more like a "unfinished version" of something, not a final version. Seems poor designed. No way Flesh Pits is this, Flesh Pits will be a much more well-done built stage, I guess.

I think maybe this time, NRS is not focusing about the injuries results making ending Kabal a "bad looking" grotesque guy, but, just a normal guy with a face burned, but, not in hideous monstrous damage state ..... not "zombie" face anymore, but, just a human 3rd degree burned face.
If so, Kabal could still use the mask for keep his "mad max road warrior" aura style and wiht goal/purpose of intimidate people .....
Even with a human , but burned face, he still has damage on his entire body, and now depends of artificial respirators in order to live, a tragic story for our bad ass friend Kabal, da man !

Well, I'm a little late, but here goes my thoughts:
- Kabal is BADASS! Never liked him so much, but, just as many of the other characters in MK9, he's so good, I'm certainly going to try him out sometimes.
- His X-Ray is one of the best until now! Nice to see more limb breaking.
- His fatality was very nice! Cut point, yeah, but it was intense, fast and did the job pretty well.
- His appearance is nice! I never liked that mask from his alternate in deception, but I dunno how, they made it very cool. I also like that his clothes are revealing the arms, and I like the damaged arms and face seen through the mask.
- Never expected Soul Chamber to look this cool. It's still not in the level of some other stages for me, but I never liked Soul Chamber, and they've made it thousand times better now. Loved the tentacles in the background.
- That stage where Kabal performed his fatality was the Wastelands, no doubt. It had a lot of tarkatan bodies on the background, and the floor looked like wet sand, like the Wastelands's ground. Compare:

So we finally got to see Kabal!
I got goosebumps when I heard Ed Boon saying "Kabal": I just felt his enthusiasm and passion about this game, I love him!
About the new reveal: Kabal has always been one of the most original and mysterious characters (and a favourite of mine), also he has one of the weirdest movesets of the entire roster. I mean, he pulls out of nowhere that ground blade, what is that??? Same for his fireball: would have been cool (even if not very original I know...), if he had some kind of plasma caster-style cannon on his shoulder or mask.
And then his dash move: I hope they'll explain how he got his powers, all in all he's just.
Also he looks like a real maniac/serial killer: sleeveless trenchcoat, burnings all over his body and a scary mask! Please notice that bandolier across his chest which holds the tube: there are spikes all over! Very unsafe, isn't it???
Nothing to say about his x-ray and fatality: I like both, but I also think they are revealing too much!
By the way, I'm definitely happy for how he turned out, but I'm still more impressed by some other drastic restylings, like Reptile (yes, this is the best version IMO) for example.
The Soul Chamber is sick too, as I said before I have a feeling almost every stage will be in, so there are chances for the Kombat Tomb!
