why? the best fan art was probably that one with the arabic look, him looking thin etc etc.. his design now has mostly ninja elements and the detail of gold [?] on his shoulders, hands, waist puts some of that arabic kinda look in as well. idk, he looks pretty detailed to me. I'm totally hyped but a video for a closer look on him will make things even clearer
 
All I need is Klassic Noob Saibot and Rain, and I'm set.
I might get the FREE compatibility pack (just for Klassic Sektor and Cyrax), but I'm still on the fence about Skarlet.

that sneak peak is EXACTLY what I pictured him to look like... and exactly what I wanted him to look like. Im a BIG fan of the retros and the palette swaps... so im glad they gave him a ninja look as opposed to the stupid arabic looks people keep talking about...

IMO just being purple sets him apart from the other ninjas... then you have a completely different move set, and fighting style. I like that he looks fast.

Overall Im excited for this Rain and I cant say how relieved I am that he doesn't look stupid. 5/5 so far....

and ITS ABOUT TIME 4 Klassic Smoke and Klassic Noob!!! god damn... been waitin on this info...

good job NRS... way to make a 90s MK fan very happy.

This recent torrent of information and images and such is kickin' my ass haha. I'm really excited. I'll be even more excited though, once some of the issues with Skarlet have been resolved. NRS seemed to have left some significant loose-ends with their first DLC character, if they learn from it quick then Skarlet can be up and running as we as she should be and the next characters should be all kinds of smooth. =)

I like the concept they were trying for in MKA (all regal and whatnot) and wouldn't mind seeing something similar as an alternate, but they'd need to really tighten the execution up to suit my tastes.
 
Lovin Rain's new look personally, hell he even has my fav shade a purple (bluish *Royal* purple). I think NRS did a fantastic job on all the ninjas..well on atleast one costume for each.
 
Im more interested in what he can do. Super roundhouse? Mind control orb? Lighning bolt summon? River kick? His attribute or element is water right? I hope his move set isnt too cheesy

I've liked his movelist in MKT and MKA so I can't imagine them screwing it up in MK9. I am interested in seeing what they include though. Will he still have Lightning (Nightwolf's lightning attack is really similar to what I would've expected)? Will he have the Super Roundhouse? There's a lot of legitimate reasoning both ways and it may not even be a special but part of his X-Ray. Mind Control Orb, ya or nay? Could be really powerful if they're not careful. A lot to be seen, but I'm really hopeful.

I'm hoping for lightning strike but obviously not like nightwolf's, plus his lightning fatality :D also, definitely yay for the mind control orb and the roundhouse kick. wondering how the latter will look in THIS mk. after those, there must definitely be emphasis on water-based moves, after all that's his thing

Oh but have you noticed something? The Classic Smoke and Noob outfits we're getting AREN'T the same costumes they used for the secret battle fights! WHOOT! They're NOT retro MK1 Palette swaps, they are LEGIT MK2 classic costumes! I LOVE ALL THE DETAIL they are putting into this game! Now all I would like is an UMK3/MKT Rain classic costume AND an MK2 Skarlett classic costume (which will be very simple: Kitana/Mileena exact costume from MK2, but in red!)

He does have a point about the fatalities! Costumes will get boring after a while.... You know, I only started playing Sub-Zero AFTER his classic Fatality was released for download! I couldn't care less about him until then! I really love the Head rip from MK1 (Best Fatality in this game), oh and his 44% hit combo-with X-RAY is really nice too-! Scorpions MK1 fatality remake is awesome in this too! I'm not REALLY complaining that they don't have fatalities to download. But It would be nice!
