I'm done conversing with you, given that you can't have a conversation without resorting to personal insults.
For arguing with him on a certain subject, you really did a good job brainwashing him with your stance on pre-MK1 events, that's for sure.

I can and I have.
I did not flatout call you a racist. What I said is that many seems to have a racist mind, even if they don't know it. I've stated this before, people are walking on eggshells as soon it comes to stereotyping a black man, and because of that, they start to point fingers at what is racist and stereotypical, even when they are neither. That's having a racist mind.
Being a racist means you hate people of a certain group, and that is not what I am calling you out on.

As for being narrowminded... well, you focused on a few superficial things about Jax and then calls his entire character stereotypical. That IS narrowminded of you doing so, as there are more to him than just the way he talks and that one alt costume. JUST like there's more to Sonya than baing a mannish soldier and there's more to Liu Kang than being a Bruce Lee wannabe.

You see, there's nothing wrong with those things. There's nothing wrong with Jax talking as he does. If his entire character was based on that one thing, then yes, it would be wrong and yes, it would make him a stereotype. But it isn't.

Regardless, he's been ignored, as it's obvious that a normal conversation can't be had, without having insults hurled at me.

Jaded-Raven, since when do you care about Sonya, Jax and all those others? I thought you had a better taste? At least on your deviantart.

I have my favourites, Milaana, and though I don't care much for characters like Sonya and Jax and think they could sit this game out so other characters could be in their places, then I know there's more to them than just those superficial points that people judge them on.

Well all those people have a point and reason to be angry.

This game seems to become a goodguy/family/special forces/monk game... those special forces characters are blocking our way to play with Reiko and Tanya...

That wasn't the point with the discussion above though. As said, I'd rather they stay out so other characters, like Reiko and Tanya, could be in the game instead. But that doesn't mean I have to hate on Jax and Sonya or come up with shallow reasons like "Jax is a stereotype" to try and convince people he shouldn't be in the game. My main reason is good enough.

I just think people are disappointed with the latest roster and the reveals of Jax and Sonya... That's why they become poisonous toward those characters and think of all types of reasons why they must put in Jax again while there really isn't a big reason behind it probably other than Boon liking him.

Everything looked wonderful in the beginning, and it seems they kept the worst for last, they kept our hopes up for characters like Tanya, Fujin, Reiko, Havik, Kai and Sareena, and then brought nothing back but Shinnok.

And yes I got an aweful feeling that this latest roster is correct.

I am seeing this talking point alot, "if char X makes the roster it directly makes char Y chances less likely"and I kinda have problem with this logic. It doesn't take into account that NRS is not trying to make a homogeneous type of cast, so if char A design is completely different from char B I don't necessarily think char B chances have been significantly effected, if at all.

Look, NRS wants variety and when you acknowledge that fact and you look at a character like Reiko, Havik, or Tanya from how they "look", and the "theme" of their fighting styles and than you look at a character like Jax or Sonya I think its pretty obvious they barely have anything in common to the point they are on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of those two attributes. They are not designed to target the same segment of the audience, Jax is not intended to elevate the audience who desire a more "edgy", or "grimdark" type of character like the ones you find in the Chaosrealm, Netherrealm, or one from the Outworld. Imo to blame Jax for Havik not making roster or merely suggesting he's hurting his chances is nonsensical. I would argue, a Shinnok and Quan Chi hurt Reiko chances WAY more than a Jax ever could. The same for Tanya; Mileena, Kitana, and other female ninjas are standing in her way, and yet, from time to time I see Tanya fans blaming Sonya/Jax more than them when their is absolutely nothing they have in common lol.

Am I missing something here. This logic escapes me, it would make sense if a Stryker guy blamed Sonya, and Jax for not making MKX but a Havik, or Tanya fan, huh? Those characters have archetypes that couldn't be further apart from Sonya/Jax, like what attribute does a design like Jax provide to the roster that would make Havik feel redundant which would hurt his chances? That's right, none, lol.

Oh, no no, that's not how I see it either. The only problem I have with having Sonya and Jax in the game is that they take up roster space which I'd rather give other characters.

I am not speaking to anyone specific, I apologize if you took offense. My post was just in general because I have seen that point be made a few times in different threads on this board and it doesn't make sense to me, however, I do agree if Jax and Sonya were to make the roster they would take an opportunity from other characters but those characters would most likely be the type that share alot of common attributes with Jax/Sonya. Example; earrthralm chars, special force chars, brawler/meele chars, and etc would be the main chars effected by they're inclusion. A character like Reiko (just for example) doesn't really share any of those commonalities so in essence he wouldn't really be effected by them making the roster like he would be by a Quan Chi.

Here, maybe this scenario would really highlight my point better. Hypothetical, lets say NRS only reasoning behind mkx roster is a requirement of 10 bad guys, and 10 good guys. If they added 2 good guys, the requirement of 10 bad guys have not been changed they still need 10 bad guys, so you can conclude that chars who full under the good guy guy category don't effect the available cast space for chars who fit in the bad guy group and vice versa. I think Jax/Sonya situation fundamentally works in the exact same way, but with obviously more variables at play than just good guy/bad guy, but I think you get my point?

The current roster = 40 goodguys, and 3 badguys, the others running around in the middle.

Buddy, you gotta stop posting about the roster in every thread you visit, it's getting to be a bit too much. If you're that upset, just make your own thread about this and you can rant all you want in there!

If they were just gonna bring Jax back anyways, why didn't NRS just have him and Sonya hook up? It would have made more sense than her and Cage. What do you think?

My guess would have something to do with not fraternizing in the military, a very real concern. Plus, Sonya and Jax have always been close in a kind of we're-here-to-protect-and-look-out-for-each-other kind of way. You know, siblings in arms and shit. I hope we get to see more instances of their friendship during the story. Though I must admit that I kinda find it a tad bit hard to believe that Cage got with Sonya. But here we are.

You guys serious? Cage and Sonya got together in MK film, Malibu comics, and were hinted at in canon as early as Deadly Alliance. This isn't exactly an earth-shattering development. Next you'll be asking why Liu Kang and Kitana are together!

Although it's not uncommon in real life, dating within the military generally creates potential for conflict of interest with regards to the chain of command, especially since Jax is Sonya's commanding officer.

Well... I mean, I just didn't get much of a romantic vibe off those two at the end of MK9. They seemed more like friends. Beats me. They gave us Cassie, and I'm pleased as punch about that.
