Imo, liu kang should be more respected, cause at mk1 and mk2 him won it too in mk4.
I mean, i dont think like tarkatan trash, and again i say, mk3 fvcked up the things and no matter if him is based on bruce lee or not,
Is not enought excuse for consider kang as bad character.
Seem that for you dudes, kang is at the same range of mokap and other truly stupid character like kobra. is Funny really cause nobody mention to kobra that is insipired in ken from SF franchise. what is better, a char based on bruce lee or in ken masters? common sense, thanks to god that ed boon never has washed my brain.
Also you forgot the oriental influences,

In what shit is based scorpion? in a mixed ninja with ghots raider, so makes thinks to me that the fanatism by boon on scorpion, is very overrated.

You don't understand them. They just consider the lack of originality in Liu Kang compared to Ermac, Scorpion or Sub-Zero.

But orinality in ermac is really superior to liu kang? No. scorpion? less. Subzero maybe cause is based from the real lin kuei vagabonds ninjas.

Its funny how the Ninja's started off as generic palette swaps, and over the past decade, have become more interesting and original than a lot of the non Ninja characters :V

Its very sketchy, but the Lin Kuei, from all the stuff ive looked into anyway, are entirely fictional. The dude who wrote about the supposedly real Lin Kuei back in the 80's was doing some dumb weird bullshit under a fake chinese alias.

and its not sound like happen with first mk games in the good sense? nobody can assures what is true and what is false, except his habilities as character, for this makes more interesting a character like subzero .
But in the case of scorpion, you know, is really false about his "shirai ryu clan".
Imo is more valid something inspired from real life than invented stuff.
Ermac what ´s him was? an error techinically then is a fusion a of souls for very bad to end: that him is the kitana ´s father, so is not very cool.

yes, if you ask question me: lin kuei clan sound like that should be named for scorpion ´s clan cause scorpion is just a hell spawn. look, at mk1 nobody know if scorpion and subzero were in the same clan, except scorpion mk1 ending that had a sofly explanation.
At mk1 both ninjas seem that their enter in a deportive contest and subzero killed him.But well except character ´s habilities, Tobias decided give it to subzero cause it have a supposdely relation from real world, and cause at the scorpion ´s case, Tobias knows that scorpion have less relation with realworld.

Liu Kang is a pretty decent character in my honest opinion. Maybe a little plain and very easy to see through but has defined very little throughout the series. I would never compare him to Mokap however. I agree, Kobra was a pretty lame knock off. I didn't mind him as a filler Black Dragon for the sake of the story though.

I know a shit storm will rain down on me for this but I feel Scorpion is borderline stale. The ghost rider/ninja from hell bent on revenge seems to only go so far. Once he gets his revenge, than what is his purpose? I wouldn't mind seeing more development done to make him more interesting. His mind set is too one dimensional which makes it hard for me to get in to. To add to that, the hordes upon hordes of Scorpion users you see make it even more difficult to appreciate him. This could happen to anything with over popularity, at least for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I respect Scorpion being a signature character of the series though.

Well, in my case i don´t respect to scorpion since mk Deception at the present day. Specially in mk9 cause rigthnow, not only him is not a evolved character, rigthnow him is the quanchi ´s whore. Scorpion always should to be a neutral hellspawn acording Tobias. I hate the favoristm on him, i have explained in previous pagesm that suddenly subzero is the idiot here thanks to the this favoritims on scorpion, all cause the stupid boon has made "get over here" ´s recorded voice from first games.

-A lame-ass character like Mokap probably has more meat to his story than Kang. Don't quote me on that. I'm not proud of this point.
-Scorpion's revenge story is getting stale. Hopefully that'll be wrapped up in MKX. That being said, it's still far more interesting than Liu Kang and his "story".

I don't give Liu Kang credit. That was me being nice. Liu Kang is pretty stale but at least they tried to add to him. Not that the new background of him being an orphan suddenly makes him better. Mokap might have more meat to his story but I'd still find Liu Kang more interesting. A bullshit character like Mokap kills the vibe.

And yes, agreed, Scorpion is more interesting than Liu Kang but not my a whole lot.

depend, in umk3 maybe him is more interesting. But mkd? anyway is debatable. Again, boon fvcked up to kang in mk3 and since mkd was very bad managed.

If Liu Kang does come back as a god like multiple endings have suggested, then it'll make him a hell of a lot more interesting.

The general consensus is that the fans want an evil Liu Kang...well, you can do that by making him a "win at all costs" type of character. Meaning make him capable of cheating.

And besides, that's not a steroid body. THIS is what you call a steroid body.
