Is anyone scared for MK8?

I'm not really scared for MK8, but rather, like all of the next-gen consoles, indifferent. I really have no interest for the next-gen consoles, thus, no MK8 for me, meaning that MKA will be the last MK I play in my life.

That pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject. Sure, I will discuss MK8, MK9, and even MK9,000. But at the end of the day..

Not sure if this is said before, but killing almost evey one off is a bad ideal. Most of the fighters have there fans. Even Styker has people rooting for him. (And I one of em)

how many fighting games TODAY, what is the number of the fighter select?? About 20. maybe more.

Lets say, that you make 2 or 3 fighters lived. That means you have to come up with 15 or more new fighters. and that is not as easy as it sounds. I dont think any one truly wants them all to die. I would not want that to happen. If I had to choose, Kintaro will lived.

Does any one recall SF3?? NEw cast? and all. Next Gen ete. Only Ryu, Akuma, Ken (And later Chun Li) return.

Sure we had some cool ones like Elena, and Hugo. But most of that cast was awful, Dudly?? English boxer?? The Twin brothers?? Grill??? Like I said, a aweful ideal. If they do this to MK, I expect the next MK to have a cast like SF3.

Of course it's not as easy as it sounds. Out of ALL the new characters in MKD the ONLY one I liked was Havik.

I like some of the new ones. About the only one in MKD that did not impress me was Hortaru, Daruio and Cobra.

Havik was cool. I loved his design, Kira, ok though she has Kano's and Sonya's moves, look great, and I loved her story line with Kabal of reforming the black dragon.

Darious had that rebel thing I amired. Thinking about it now. That is about the end of the new fighters in MKD.

Ashrah was pretty dull, in dress and all. Jinko may sound cool at first, but in the end, he stole most of the main power moves, and had no moves of his own.

Dairou was pretty dull. Also why does he need a name that is SO close to Darious??

I mean there almost spell the same, give and take some letters. Give him other name maybe?? And he look borning also. He was bald lol.

But STILL they were better than most of the cast in SF3.

I like Nightwolf, I dont see why he is Hollywood. It was about time we have a Native America in Mortal Kombat. Nightwolf has a place in my heart. Because well, I am a Native America as well. (Dont say he is a copy of T Hawk, he came from Mexcio, lol)

But I like his bio card, he has honor, rules, ete. But he is no push over. More like a tribe Witch Doc in MK3. They also used some of the old Indain Myths(And sereo Types) in Nightwolf. As least he does not talk like Apaci Chief lol.

Any way, I would loved to see Nightwolf in upcoming Mortal Kombat games.

He's hollywood BECAUSE he's like a witch doctor shaman indian myth guy. Real indians aren't like that anymore they all run casinos (VAST exaggeration! Don't kill me!). He's stereotyped. There arn't really any other stereotypes in MK. MK chars should be unique. I mean where have you ever seen a Baraka before? Nightwolf and Stryker came about 'cus they simply ran out of good ideas. Nightwolf, Stryker, and Liu Kang are about the only kookie-kutter kombatants in MK but Liu is the champ. He shoots fireballs.

We don't like the characters simply because they're not developed. In the first game I loved Scoprion, Sub-Zero, and Johnny Cage. I thought Liu Kang, and Raiden were lame, and that Sonya and Kano were just filler characters. Then into the second game when they developed the characters we all began to like them.

Sonya and Kano became interesting because you couldn't play them, but only see them.

Liu Kang became cool because he had won the first tournament and now had some character backing.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion's storyline developed and we had more reason to like them.

On to more current games, Shujinko, LAME :| I'm sorry, I thought after Konquest I was going to like just because I spent so much time as him. But not so much. However, Characters like Bo Rai Cho and their appearances made me actually like them.

They could create the lamest character ever, but if he's used right we'll drool over him. That's why I don't judge a character until the second game it's in.

I had a hunch on Kobra and Kira being shite, but after reading Kira's ending and seeing Kobra back stab her so blatantly, he's got the edge a MK character needs. Kira though is just another chick fighter who looks hot.

Ashrah will become cool but only if they finally sacrafice a character and let her kill it.

I have high hopes for Taven, he's just incredibly powerful, and smooth in motions. He's got a great story going.

So all in all, we'll hate certain characters of course, but don't be too hard on the new ones just because they haven't been developed like Scorpion or Sub-Zero yet. Now a character like oh I don't know, Jax. Yeah this guy has been around since MK2 and still sucks. Hate him. :)

Hollywood is Tom Cruise.

Sure they run casio's TODAY. But not back than. I like how they put in some of the old Indain myths in Nightwolf. Its just like them putting the Asian myths in MK. Does that make it Hollywood when they add in the Asain myths from Japan and China???

But NOOO, its Hollywood when it is regard to a Indain.

In Kobra's ended, Kira backstab Kobra. Both of there endings, they both turn on each other.

If you notice I said Stryker was hollywood too. I'm not discriminating against anybody. But MK has always been a game steeped in Chinese mythos and you cannot deny that Nightwolf and Stryker are incredibly stereotypical.

I dont know what MK8 is going to be, but I know I'll buy it regardless. I've loved them all thus far. But what I think they need to do, since this is going to be a re-invention of sorts is look back to the star of the series MK2. See what made it such the sensation it was. Huge scenery changes, exciting new backgrounds. The backgrounds were so cool, it was all we could do to focus on the fight, because our eyes kept watching the stuff in the background, and they're going to need strange new characters (emphasis on strange, not just another lame-ass human filler figther).

Hopefully they'll seriously do their homework on what the fans like and want. I know its their product and have the right to make whatever they please, and we'll either buy it or we wont. But they had better remember that we're the reason they even have jobs, and listen to what the heck it is we want.

I'm not scared for MK8, but I do wonder where it's going from here.

I think the'll probably keep scorpion, reptile(but he'll look alot different), and a female charecter possibly kitana. and then just create a whole new cast. But lets face it, the new games won't be as fun as the old ones.

Of course they'll keeping Scorpion and Sub-Zero. They're the main franchise of the MK games. The only old characters I want to see return fighting are Ermac, Kai, Jade, Fujin, Li Mei and maybe Taven. I won't be playing any of the new generation MK games, but I'll be looking at it to see how it is.

They (MK Team) said they're not keeping anyone. They're starting totally fresh. Exactly what they mean by that is yet to be seen, but they did indeed say at one point they are not using any of the old characters. All new roster.

And let's not forget what they said at the Fight Night chat. That they're taking the series in a totally different direction that will shock everyone, and when we first find out what they are doing with MK next, we will say "what? did i hear that right?!?!?"

that's what they said. so that makes me very anxious (happy anxious, not worried).

I don't konw about this whole "everyone snuffs it thing", I mean, how many times has Johnny popped his cloggs and been bought back? Probably just once... but regardless...

As for Kobra... am I the only one who thinks GI-Joe when I see him?

Anyway, what do I know, I'm just a nooB.

They did get rid of Scorpion before and he is probably the most popular character so it wouldn't be too fat fetched for them to get rid of him again. The question is, are they willing to upset a sh!tload of fans all over again? A lot of people were pissed off at Scorpion's absence and they probably got a lot of hate mail. I think they'd rather keep him in the lineup.

It's a mystery to me why people feel a brand new cast would be detrimentle to the series.
Faves will return, hacks will finally die.
