Injustice 2 Media and Discussion Thread!

I don't recall any plans about Joker cheating death in the original Batman movie series. However there were plans for a fifth film where Harley Quinn would have been one of the villains. In that version she would had been Joker's daughter seeking revenge for his death.

Wha....that makes zero sense for Harley's character lol. Glad that never came to pass.

Being Joker's daughter yes. However going after Batman for Joker's death really wouldn't be out of character for her.

Regarding the DLC, according to the TYM thread it appears to be.....

Spoiler:
Starfire, Red Hood and Sub-Zero.

Aside from Starfire, the other 2 are a disappointment to me, and this coming from someone in which 1 of their favorite characters is Sub-Zero.

Red Hood could have been a Joker Premier skin and Sub-Zero being in means less chances of seeing other DC characters like Killer Croc or King Shark.

Yeah, Sub-Zero's style wasn't that good IMO (at the least the default skin). It kinda tried to be as fitting as Injustice's Scorpion, but also that dark style from MKX's special Scorpion/Sub-Zero.

But besides passing by to say hello, just came here to say one thing:

Spoiler:
MY F**** ELDER GOD, IT'S RAIDEN ON THE SHADOWS!!!!!!!! AND IT'S DARK RAIDEN!!!!!! I'm totally buying it now (soon,
still saving for RE7 :()

Red Hood has been among the most requested characters since the first Injustice. It honestly wouldn't have been smart money for them to waste it on a skin.

I agree but it obvious WB's wanted more MK characters to win over the casual crowd who didn't play the first game and don't care about the DC universe. I think it's dumb but it is what it is. Many players only touched the first game because scorpion was playable.

For you to think Red Hood could have been a Joker skin means you obviously don't know which Red Hood is being talked about lol

Yeah, I guess I can see that.

I know, but it means less characters from the DC universe being in.
I assumed that Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash (all as part of the Justice League), Catwoman and The Joker had a big enough draw to bring in more people than even MK.
Not everyone may know the MK series (which still shocks me, to this day), but you'd really have to be living under a rock not to know who any of those DC characters are.
Those are some of the most common / household super-villains and heroes for the last 6 decades (on the DC Comics side).

You'd be surprised. I've come across people actually labeling characters like Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd and Cheetah D-listers simply because they never heard of them. Even though they're Flash and Wonder Woman's biggest foes(respectively) and the former two being in the Flash TV show.

Raiden and Manta were kinda surprising. Red Hood, Starfire and Sub-Zero have been talked about so much that I kinda expected them to be DLC, and they look good.

I hope the guy far to the left would be Nightwing though.

Yeah, I'll admit that I haven't followed the story for this game as closely as the first game.

I'm not surprised that people don't know that Grodd, Captain Cold and Cheetah are bigger than that, but the ones that I listed should be big enough names where a guest like Sub-Zero doesn't need to be in Injustice 2 and that it should be able to stand on its own.

I never cared too much about Cheetah tbh, but I don't complain either. Sometimes it's not a matter of knowing, but a matter of not caring, even though she's WW biggest foe, with all due respect, I never saw this character as enough to be not even WW's sidekick.

Not knowing her, on the other hand, shows very superficial "knowledge" from casuals, but, well, there's always time to become a supporter.

Now Captain Cold was awesomely done, I liked the way he was designed. Grodd is just as he is expected, but this time he looks less talk and more punch, and I like it. I mean, Shakespeare wouldn't be very fitting to the whole world is going crazy + Brainiac attacks storyline.

In general, the heroes get a lot more exposure. With so many Superman and Wonderwoman merchandise out there, it's hard not to be able to (at least) recognize them by name and appearance, even for people who have no interest in them. The villians don't really get the same level of exposure. Most people don't read the comics, although they will watch the TV shows and movies.

I'm not really feeling Sub-Zero's costume...

It kinda looks like he just took a couple of sliced up rubber tires, dyed them blue with some cheap spray paint and then threw them over his shoulders. Hopefully this is just the result of lack of polishing, but still... I didn't like Scorpion's Injustice look either, just looked like he was encased in a lot of spiky plastic. I get the idea, having him look like he's wearing a scorpion's carapace, but the final look didn't look great, imo. And now they are making Sub-Zero in the same style, just... worse, actually.

They could have done so many cool (pun) things with him, and but instead they were keeping it safe and making him look so incredibly bland. Hopefully he will have some gear that will make him look a lot better.

He's a mix of Tremor, Injustice Scorpion and Scorpion in Kollector's Edition. I'm not digging not only this outfit, but I'm asking myself if was really necessary this carbon-like skin.

Funny, he's got skulls on his knee pads. I mean, Sub-Zero with SKULLS? By this detail I wonder if that's not Bi-Han and they are offering some kind of Noob-Zero (user pun).

I just hope they don't get THAT creative with Raiden. His MKX outfit was awesome, I hope they get creative like that.
