How might the dead return for MKX

My two theories of how they might bring back some of the so called dead characters back for MKX:

Quan Chi could be showing Raiden apparitions of the Earth realm warriors, just to mess with him. You see when Sindel came in to fight them, she didnt deliver a really fatal blow to all of them and so some of them might actually not be dead. Quan Chi being a sorcerer conjured their zombie like apparitions or just made the members of brotherhood of shadow look like earthrealm warriors. Also i don't understand how or why or what would give quan chi right over the souls of earthrealm, that deal part seems so ridiculous even for MK imo.

OR

Onaga could return and resurrect earthrealm warriors to fight for him. Not many people think that Onaga could be the returning boss characters.

But I'd like the devs do something completely different thing in a better way to bring them back. Especially making Cyber Sub-Zero back to normal Sub-Zero( hope they do this).

Raiden or Quan Chi resurrecting them. Raiden brought back Johnny Cage and Quan Chi brought back Sindel as Sub Zero (to an extent.) Though I would prefer people staying dead. I mean how is death supposed to be shocking and suspenseful when you can just say "Oh so and so can just bring them back. No big deal."

My money is on Quan-Chi doing the dirty work. At least most of it. I can see him resurrecting one or two characters.

Raiden? The best thing he can do at this point is stay in the corner or go to his room.

Elder Gods resurrecting someone... I see that more likely. For example the Gods could bring to life some powerful ancient warrior to help Earthrealm.

It could also be the Shadow Priests... although I doubt they will ever play a major role.

They can come back as Netherrealm slaves and still be unlockable, playable, or DLC. They can have their default outfits be zombified and their original self be alternate outfits.

I remember John Vogel saying in Shao Kahn's MKD trading kard video that no one really ever dies in Mortal Kombat. There's a lot of fan favorites who are dead and they can't just leave them dead, they have to weave some story to bring them back.

That concept of story telling is so outdated, though. People today demand more from a story. Killing characters off just to bring them back again will only work for so long before people grow tired of it. My advice to NRS is - Kill them off only if you wish to keep it that way.

I bet they magically come back after the final boss is dead at the end game similar what happen in MKD where Ermac and Liu Kang's ghost help the heroes who died in MK:DA expect for Jax and Kitana from Onaga. I think Sub Zero will come back early, I think Sareena will likely play apart on Sub Zero coming back to life and becoming human again.

I'm sure some want their favs to return back so there's that

Sure. I lost a couple of my favorites as well in MK9. But for the sake of quality I'm willing to let them go. I thought we were hoping for a better MK with this new timeline. Not more of the same problems that the previous series had. New fresh characters will more than likely give us new favorites to love.

Yeah, I'm with Rico on this. I do like some of the dead characters, but so what? The only characters I really can't live without are Scorpion and Sub-Zero and those are in. And also probably Noob and Reptile who seem to be in as well. Anyone else beyond these that I like is a bonus. And those that I don't care about I probably never cared about in the first place.

At first I was really pissed about the new characters, but the more I think about it the more I like it. As long as they will be decent I won't have a problem. Especially female ones.

I don't want old characters back just for the sake of it anymore. I've grown out of that. MK9 was fan service. It was a game for us that included basically everything an MK fan could want. Nostalgia overload. It was great, but I don't want MK to be stuck in a loop.

I would imagine Shao Kahn will likely stay dead in MKX. I would imagine if they bring him back, it won't be for another decade. The Gamecube version of Deception was the first MK game we saw Shao Kahn since Mortal Kombat Trilogy which was nearly 9 years alter. I think Shang Tsung won't stay dead for long. Either he comes back in MKX or in MK11. He's one of the main faces of evil in Mortal Kombat. Doing MK without him is like doing Street Fighter without M. Bison or Teken without Heihachi to me.

While it was stated by Steve Barron himself alot of the Roster was killed in MK9. I still have my doubts that some of them just died because some of Sindels attack were weak! Lets review Shall we:

1. Kabal- Kicked and had breathing device stomped on. (Questionable death but i can see if unattended how he could die, Kano said his lungs were, "Yeesh")
2. Stryker- Looked more like a broken nose, but maybe she hit him right spot and did the whole break your nose and kill you thing (Questionable)
3. Cyber Sub Zero- 3 Strikes and he was out. Some type of electrical malfunction...i thought he was suppose to be Advanced High Tech (Questionable)
3. Jax- Heel pierced throat (I can buy that)
4. Smoke-n Kick to the balls (Ouch), neck broken. (Questionable IMO-he is an enera, a creature of mist/vapor.)
5. Jade- Stomach ripped out (I buy it)
6. Kitana- Life force was being taken. eventually died from wounds and not enough life force lol (I buy it)
7. Nightwolf- Sacrificed himself to kill Sindel. (Damn Shame but i buy it)
*interesting note though- Nightwolf was the only person not to be effect by Sindels scream when she entered the fight!*

He's a motherflucking badass, that's why. :wiggle:

I kinda don't want Raiden to be the one to resurrect the dead. I'd rather have them be brought back by something that's not really too predictable. I can see Quan Chi using them for his army, but other than that, I'd like it if some other force were to give them life. Maybe not all of them either.
